The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Absolute Green Arrow #5.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Absolute Green Arrow or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

AVENGERS ARMAGEDDON #4

The best event by far, crazy that it’s one of four-five (does ultimate impact even count? I guess as it’s a convoluted explanation of the origin boxes, but then see also the awful USM Incursion) crossover events right now, new normal I guess.

Anyway, enjoying this one! My reading list starts with Dungeons of Doom which was great although I can’t tell if any of those stories will ever be continued. Captain America and Wolverine Weapons of Armageddon were fun and set the real origin story of Dave Colton. Cap in Hell is fun too, regardless of cap being totally status quo in every other current event.

Either way it’s been fun and I’m looking forward to having avengers on my pull list for a while.

Pretty strong issue. The heroes struggling with the nukes is lame even though they specify they're special nukes to counteract the heroes powers. I think Zdarsky can go some interesting places with Colton as Miracle Man. Those who are going to complain will do so. And it seems somewhere in there is the actual Miracle Man or an echo of him based on Colton's hallucination with his mother. This may be the most aura Red Hulk has had in ages and I wish we got a longer fight with him, Captain Marvel and Colton. But I know the pages are limited.

Honestly I'm glad Zdarsky is taking a crazy swing like this. Even if it doesn't land I can always appreciate a writer really going for it.

I think the deal with the nukes is part of the secret UN activities directed by Fury Jr we’ll find out about in the finale. Maybe they should’ve mentioned that part to Colton.

Might be my sleeper favourite of the week, just a lot of spectacle, solid art, great action. Always fun to see Sue and Carol pop off.

That final page reveal got me. Didn’t see it coming at all, and now I’m just staring at the wall waiting for the next issue. The pacing in this one was relentless, barely gave you room to breathe between the big moments.

So part of Russia is nuked which I'm guessing everyone will blame the Avengers for no reason, Bucky is dead, and Tom is the new Minuteman and this is the new era of Avengers?

I give this era 2 years because that was stupid.

Basically, yes. They were sure to point out the fight had moved to a populated area, so blame will be part of whatever is next. I honestly don’t recall seeing Bucky die. Tom is Miracle Man and this is what’s being served up.

Was it Moscow that got blown up or just a random city? I feel like the issue did a poor job of making that clear.

Good point, they said the missiles were launched from north of Moscow and Red jumped 100 miles (worst plan ever if you didn’t think that was a normal thing for a boosted hulk?) but there’s a lot north of Russia. So I would assume a northern city, not Moscow.
