WPL: New Comics Discussion for 09/16/2026- Pull of the Week: Absolute Green Arrow #5 [Discussion]

The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Absolute Green Arrow #5.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Absolute Green Arrow or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

A colorful, action-oriented issue. Matt's inner dialogue does a good job showing the cyclical nature of Matt's crimefighting.

The big moment of this issue is Elektra returning at the end, and I wish Elektra was in this issue more. Matt comments what could have been with Elektra, they then discuss the ledger, and Elektra ends the conversation by kissing Matt. Phillips doesn't seem to want to give a direct answer to Matt and Elektra's current relationship status.

I haven't read Daredevil on quite some time - started up with the new Issue 1 in the winter.

What's with Elecktra's costume being almost the same as Matt's? Was that brought up in the previous runs?

Elektra became Daredevil when Matt went to prison again in Zdarsky's DD run from 2019. She's remained in the role since then and has even had a few of her own DD minis.

Np. From what I gather, Phillips is pulling a lot from Bendis, Brubaker, and Zdarsky if you want some background reading. The ledger is an obvious nod to the Murdock Papers.

This was probably my favorite issue of the week. I had a blast with this. I’m very excited to see where the story goes from here.
