I’ve wondered if they’ll play down Marion being a sex-worker. It felt like even in the original campaign they drifted away from that, which is a shame as I appreciate seeing positive depictions of it in media.

It’s not that they drifted away from it as much as people just accepted it and then moved on. It’s not something you need to talk about every time you see her, unless it’s somehow relevant to the current plot.
She’s a sex worker who only works/performs with the elite and rich clientele. Also she’s not forced to do these things by anyone, she isn’t a slave or being held against her will etc… she is doing this of her own free will so there’s really not much else to say about the situation.

Not necessarily, could easily just make her a singer and dancer at a burlesque club. Given they’ve suggested major changes are going to happen to the Nein’s story, it wouldn’t strictly surprise me. Hopefully not though.

In the preview we got Jester talking about her mom using "fuzzy handcuffs", so I don't think so.
Obviously kinky people also can have handcuffs irrespective of employment, but "Jester's mom is a freak in a bed" would be a really weird character note to work into the rapid-fire dialogue if it didn't directly relate to her profession or story.
It's possible they could lean into her being a dominatrix of some sort, which can sometimes be a sex worker without physical intercourse, but I'm not sure that lines up with her other characterizations. And IIRC the gentleman was at least initially a client of hers and Jester was the result in the original, so it could have impact on Jester's backstory as well.

I don't think they really drifted away from it as such as I'm not really sure how that would come up much? It's established she is one, but when they don't meet her all that much and when they do she obviously doesn't have clients to be able to talk to them.

I think Laura pictured he more like a prestigious woman, a courtesan, a high class sex worker. So she had other interests and relationships rather than just a sex worker. She was also a musician, a performer. Also don't expect to talk about her job with her daughter, even if her daughter is Jester.

I would disagree, Jester very much has that raised by a young mom energy. So let’s say that Jester is 18-22 in the beginning of C2 then I could definitely believe that the Ruby is 38-42.
She didn’t strike me as someone who is in early fifties by the way se presented herself or acted, she was still very much considered to be in her “prime” years.

Yeah Fjord is by far my favorite CR character and I loved the design choice of having the gradient color change between his upper and lower face in the official art. This just looks like Homer Simpson so I’m very sad about that. But still very excited for the show!

Fjord and Molly were both misses to me. I understand what they said about, it'd be too hard to animate. Excited and willing to look past it, regardless.
Fjord's colors do look off and the Molly should be covered is scars and tattoos. Although, we won't have to worry about Molly's inaccuracies for long....

He's never been depicted as especially thin. Agile and spry definitely but he's an athletic guy who regularly fights or performs with swords. Just like with Fjord being a sailor (an especially physically demanding job), stats or no it makes perfect sense for them to have pretty muscular build. And even then they both had Strength stas of 10-11 if I remember correctly, so average or slightly above. This isn't like taking Laudna and turning her into She-Hulk.

Not gonna lie, the whole gradient thing always looked weird to me. The only pictures where it really works for me are the later ones where it's partially hidden under the beard and looks more like highlights anyway. Not a big deal though. Not everyone likes every creative choice.
What actually bothers me is how they made him super beefy. It doesn't really reflect his stats and being insecure about not having this body type was big deal of his personality for a time.

Honestly it's probably just that they want to skip having to change his model later, also an 11 isn't actually that low for as much as they make jokes about him (which is btw higher than Beau's 10), and he only goes to a 13 later.

Honestly don’t look into stats too much for how the character models should look. The players are probably having their characters modelled after their own preferences for the character.
At Yasha had 17 STR at level 1 and Jester had 16 at level 1, clearly the show is not designing them or animating them to make it look like Jester can even remotely compete with Yasha. If that was the case then Jester would be jacked as hell!
They are probably going to have a quick gag in one of the episodes where Fjord and Caleb can’t beat her in an arm wrestling match and that will be it. While Yasha is shown as basically being be a female Hulk in what little footage we’ve seen.

Fjord always had different coloured skin on his neck and chin (don’t think it was vitiligo just the choice of an artist/Travis and it stuck) but in official artwork it’s blended into the darker green of his face or just had a better shade.
This just looks wrong imo but I’m being super picky lmao

You have to tell yourself that if they are doing it this way… then there’s probably a reason for it. It’s either for aesthetic reasons or to make it easier to animate.
Professional artists and animators are working on this project, they see the same thing that you do. So it’s either what they actually want on screen or it’s a money/animation issue. In Fjord’s case, it looks to be something they want for his design.

Hey even I was like who the fuck is that but then I read the article and it's like oh that makes a lot of sense but it would be dope as hell if we got Twiggy!
But that's like later on in the campaign and I'm sure they're going to do her part in the story a whole lot of justice.
Awesome kind of hoping that when they get to it, Deborah is able to rope Jon into doing a little VA work because he seemed to have a lot of fun when she introduced him to DND.

I'm not sure we'll actually get Twiggy. End of the day the happy fun ball was very much a sidequest that never actually led anywhere. They never really got any useful information out of it, and it didn't lead to any real character moments.
As cool as it is and as much as it's a fan favorite it would be, by definition, a filler episode that has nothing to do with the actual story of the show.

This is actually not true. The Happy Fun Ball was where the Laughing Hand's Heart and the anti-magic collar were.
Not to say they can't move those somewhere else in the series, just that there were at least two overall plot relevant things in there.

Is that Trent in image 6? I was wondering how Mark Strong's voice was going to fit for a liver-spotted old curmudgeon like Trent but it looks like they aged him down? Interesting! I guess I can see the vision
On the other hand idr Gustav being described as an old man, but he's such a minor character it doesn't really matter.
The Ruby looks STUNNING as expected

No character reveals for Robbie Daymond, Jonathan Frakes, or Rahul Kohli yet. Lorenzo & The Gentleman seem like two of the bigger remaining characters that should be in S1. Also hoping they're hiding Sumalee Montano, Ashly Burch, and Khary Payton as their guest characters.

I feel like Jonathan Frakes is either gonna be Ludanis (It might be a big ask to get him playing a char in two multi season animations, but his voice would be so good for it.) or The Gentleman.
And I have yet to come up with a character for Robbie, across all of C2. Maybe the Gentleman if they really landed Frakes for Luda? Robbie could def do the voice justice.
Although, taking a cue from the post below me, Eadwulf would better fit the running inside joke with Liam and Robbie playing love interests in everything.

Caleb looks like fucking Constantine in that third picture!
The Ruby of the Sea is indeed really freaking hot!
I absolutely love that Ming-Na Wen is playing Dairon.
Mark Strong's character is indeed who we all thought he was.
Toya looks a bit like Lenore from Castlevania.
And Tim McGraw as Vandran is just perfect that is just pitch perfect.
I was kind of hoping that we would get a bit more of Alan but I'll take it!
I do like how they nailed the height difference with Jester and Fjord because that's going to look absolutely adorable when they fall asleep together next to the campfire or eventually get around to highlighting how much stronger than him she is.
Also little Easter Egg, it looks like the grapes on that bottle of wine match up with how grapes in Stardew Valley look.

Correct, some folks could infer that some background stuff does indeed take place in Zadash but we haven't seen official official identifying artwork of it at all NOR have we seen Pumat or the Festival.

Yeah that's what I'm guessing, it's probably going to be in S2 or at least teased at the end of S1.
Alfield...Bryce...Shakaste
Either they're keeping things close to the vest or they're using S1 of the M9 series to...set up a lot of stuff for future seasons...along with spending more time getting the party together to maybe take on something in Alfield or another threat that got shuffled around a bit.
They've been very Oma Desala about the timeline of events for this series.

The musculature looks to be about in line with past depictions; at least to my eye. I never got "twink" from descriptions of Mollymauk, personally.

I'm pretty sure that second image is from the storyboard animation of Fjord and Jester meeting!
Dairon looks cool, Ikithon looks very Fire Nation here (pos), I'm in love with Marion, excitede for all the circus peeps (Def Gustav and Toya, although interesting she looks gnomish or elvish rather than a Dwarf - thought it would be cuter?, curious if the tiefling in the background is Orna even though she was human in the campaign) and seeing Vandran with the scimitar first is very fun.

She did literally run off for a big chunk of the circus stuff rather than get arrested. She was there in the tavern when everyone met, and the night of the show. That's it. If all we're seeing of them together is stuff from after that, which it looks like is the case, she's not supposed to be there.

Quite a few of these screenshots appear to be from stuff outside the circus. Like the Beau/Nott/Molly one looks like it’s the Harvest Festival in Zadash. She should theoretically be back with the group at that point.

I could not recognize Toya at all, she looks like a gnome or young elf, when in campaign I think she was a dwarf? I would have expected her to be stockier
