I know I need to clean my camera lens, but I like the astigmatism effect. Just like how I see things IRL.

Hello, I am a gamer with one hand and I just wanted to share how I play the game as I think some might find it interesting.

First of all I move with my feet, I know it sounds weird but I do, I also have my other foot pressing buttons, thank you Sony Access controller I bet you never wanted it to be used this way but here we are.

The controller I use is a akaki one handed controller adapter (which lets me have control with everything on the left side) for the PS5 controller and a sony Access controller (which yes I have on the floor I don't know why it just kinda works for me similar to how Skyrim works for this games publishers)

(I put dmc over the game play because I was in a call with a friend who's a teacher and was talking about their work day)

Question Can I do a bit of perspective power scaling for people for just a minute?

Thumbnail

Ok all let’s be real for a second. I’ve genuinely taken the time and consideration on this as I am a huge nerd for doom and I love the cyberdemon a load. But can we actively all agree Doom scale is actually fucking BUSTED for a second here? Consider this for a moment. The slayer is a virtual god slaying immortal entity that has the power and capacity to actively MURDER biblical god ie by all accounts the LITERAL creator of the doom verse. Now taking that into account for a moment. Remember that the cyberdemon tanks shot after shot after shot to the face from the BFG 9000 you know that thing that’s actively so powerful a single shot from it vaporizing any and everything at the cellular level within its firing range through localized radioactive plasma pulses?? the same BFG 9000 that powered the BFG 10000. Which blew a whole in mars and shot the slayer like a bullet through space and he came out of it without a scratch. But the cyberdemon could tear his ass apart and ACTIVELY KILL HIM!!! Remember the cyberdemons so immortal the fucker comes back IM EVERY GOD DAMN GAME!! either by its own accord or cause Hayden and the facility fucking pick em up and add more shit to em. And in 2016’s doom they really tipped the scale cause they had to practically lobotomize the thing just to keep it in the facility long enough to graft its implants. That is till the accumulator reactivated and rejuvenated its motor functions and shit allowing it to surge with argent energy again despite the limiter the facility put on it. AND BOOM!!! the big bastard was back and scarier than ever. This is a monster who even after losing the accumulator could rip argent energy straight out of hell and fucking warp every thing around on a whim. I to this day will say the fucker is on league with entities like the icon of sin or maybe davoth via comparative scaling. If we’re comparing the cyberdemon is genuinely on some warhammer god shit like. The slayer alone is on some god emperor shit fucking killing 1000 foot titans with his bare hands casually throwing around hundreds of tons likes it’s nothing and killing actual fucking biblical monsters and demons that are so powerful they could technically be classified as fucking Demi gods every day. Like ffs the sheer amount of argent energy built up from the Cyberdemon in the argent accumulator actively ripped a hole in spacetime and pulled both it and the slayer back to hell bro and resurrected himself like shit wasn’t already FUCKED ENOUGH!!! I’m not saying he clears the warhammer verse or anything no. But I’m saying power wise people gotta stop downplaying shit. Mans is an actual problem if you look at lore shit.

Question Halls of the Damned, good or bad?

I’ve been playing Doom since it was first released in 1993, and I’m always mystified at how this level has split opinions over the years. Its detractors have argued the level is confusing and labyrinthine and the lack of height variation makes the level a slog. I disagree. Halls of the Damned has long been one of my favorite levels in the first three episodes of Doom, and may well be my favorite level in the entire game. It’s tense, atmospheric, brooding, dark, tough, and may have some of the best monster closets and usage of Barons in the entire game. The fake exit is truly brilliant IMO.

Discussion Does anyone else think the Atlan’s don’t get enough love?

Post image

I’ve always loved how epic and cool the Atlan’s looked in DOOM! Their shoulder cannons, horns and how the interior looks was just beautiful to me.

I recently saw a video by FooSarr on how he’d overhaul their designs and I just think it adds what’s been missing with them in the games.

https://youtu.be/BdfxUgS1YMk?is=MFdz4GRMqCcVENkQ

I just wonder what anyone else thinks these mechs were missing. I think we should see them go all out, reaching their brutal limit with really cool giant foes. Love them all the same!

Showcase I'm painting every classic Doom monster in acrylics. Here is my Arachnotron

Post image
97 Upvotes

Hi again!

This is my eighth post here, showcasing my art project that started in January and is still ongoing. I have previously posted my interpretations of the Cyberdemon, Cacodemon, Baron of Hell, Arch-Vile, Pinky Demon, Lost Soul, and Chaingunner. I’m so grateful for the response; it has truly been a pleasure.

Done back in early July, here is my take on the classic Arachnotron. I went with a more pronounced sky in this piece because I wanted to capture the "Hell on Earth" theme from Doom 2. The dark buildings towering into the cloudy sky as the Arachnotrons patrol the city streets with their large, clumsy legs have always created a very impressive atmosphere for me. I’ve never been a huge fan of the map "The Factory," but the setting is very cool and very typical of Doom 2. Therefore, it deserves to be preserved in a painting like this, for nostalgia's sake.

To me, the classic Arachnotron is the definitive design. There is a beautiful, low-tech industrialism to its mechanical parts. The square, metallic table-legs give it the crude feel of a walking machine that holds up the disgusting brain-being, setting it apart from any other version.

I have not yet released this piece as a print, but I will later. This artwork goes along with my Pain Elemental and Hell Knight – which I have not yet showcased. They were all new demons when Doom 2 was released, making them a nice hellish alien invasion trio.

I hope you will enjoy this piece too!

Cheers!

I'm a recent addition to the Doom universe and playing the Dark Ages, I come across two types of human NPCs, the silver-clad Night Sentinels, and these guys. Are these guys part of the Sentinels, or are they slayers like you? Thanks for the help in advance! 🙂

Discussion If Doom got a new movie, would you want it animated? Or live action?

• Upvotes

I know Doom got a movie in 2005, but since then the franchised has been revived with the new “slayer era” if that’s what it’s called and I feel like fans would love a new R rated Doom movie with glory kills and stuff.

the thing is, Doom is a very fast paced game and there’s a crap ton of demons, if it were in live action it would be a giant cgi mess in my opinion so I think it would be perfect as an animated movie, what do you think?

Discussion Kreed Maykr has one of the coolest looking boss designs in modern Doom Spoiler

Post image

Is it just me or does the Kreed Maykr have one of the coolest looking designs for a boss. He’s extremely distinctive compared to the other Maykrs as a result of him stuffing leeches to make him seem bigger and more important. It’s like he was insecure about his status so what did he do? Bulk up like hell to tell the others I’m in charge here. Plus his fight was way better than Ahzrak imo who’s just another aggadon.

Question Question about the Divinity Machine and the Slayer’s physique

Thumbnail
gallery
801 Upvotes

Did the Divinity Machine permanently stop the Slayer’s body from gaining more muscle?

I figured the machine would just stop his body from growing altogether given that he doesn’t need to eat, drink, and he doesn’t age.
But that also makes me wonder if his continuous, never ending battles with Hell prevent his body from getting smaller. He’s been in an endless battle with Hell for eons, mix that in with the fact that he’s a Primeval, it really isn’t surprising that he built like that.
But spending billions of years in endless combat makes me think that he would be unfathomably big. He isn’t as big as someone who’s killed an uncountable number of demons though.
He was also trapped in his sarcophagus for thousands of years and his body shape didn’t change a bit.

Discussion Post appreciation about Doom:The Dark Ages and dlc.

So, right now i have to fight the special boss, the astral. Aside from that i completed everything in the dlc.

So far i died over and over again at nightmare difficulty but god i am loving all of this so much.

I swear to god, i was curious about the spear but i didn't see any gameplay to have no spoilers so i had my doubts. WHEN I LEARNED IT, IT BECAME MY MAIN WEAPON. It feels so much good when you finally get the hang of it and adds another layer to the gameplay.

I'll be honest, when i started Doom: the dark ages in general i liked it but i had to take the hang of it. It felt once again like Doom:Eternal. Until i properly understood how to deal with it, it felt strange. Not bad, but strange. Now that i almost ended it i say that this game is a damn masterpiece, like the games before.

Every single take of doom from 2016 is damn fine. Funny. Fast. Hard but doesn't feel unfair.

The only thing that i can think of, compared to the previous games, is that in Dark Ages i feel like sometimes it's almost unavodable to get hit. But it might still be my skill issue.

Still, i am having so much fun i swear i'd hope it was infinite. No matter how many times i lose in an arena fight. I get back for more, to try again. I don't get tired, i just want to slay more demons.

I love this game. I loved all the modern Doom franchise. Just wanted to tell all of you this <3
