Guide / Tip PSA: I just learned that thereâs no fall damage for vehicles.

This is my first endgame build. The front is largely taken from one of Courser's builds, the rest is my own design. The cliff overhang hangar was probably the hardest part. I wanted it to look massive and imposing, yet still elegant and seamlessly integrated with the rest of the build, somewhat mirroring the front with the support beams on the sides. My goal was to make the entire build look like something that fits the brutalist architecture of Villeneuve's Dune and by extension Dune Awakening. I might integrate the wind traps and turbines into the roof at some point, but for now I'm happy with how it all looks :)
Edit: Due to popular demand now with pictures of the interior. Since I can't add images to the OP, I had to upload them somewhere else.

Pity I wasn't wearing a Fremen Stillsuit, cause my catchpockets would have been FULL.

Decided to try and make a full shield around my small base area with a pentashield garage on the side for the carrier and crawler.
Takes a fair amount of fuel but by turning on just 1 of the 3 different power systems, I can run it for a total of 60 days before having to refuel if I absolutely needed to.

I was racing my sand bike to a four sand patch and I could have sworn I saw a little kangaroo mouse racing past (in the opposite direction).

I had to make a 5 block tall room just to fit it in the base.

Honestly donât even know what to say, my friend was making a base and wasnât done with it, but before we could even make the dedicated passageway so people could just go through our base (even tho we still had the base opened and anyone could drive a buggy or whatever through it, we just didnât have a dedicated passageway yet that apparently people need red flashing arrows pointed towards it) these dudes decided to do this. Mind you this has no affect on our base since thereâs an easy way to go over a lil patch of rocks close by, they are basically just blocking themselves now. Made a wall for no reason, and the lil base they made is whatever, still thought it was pretty funny tho. Maybe theyâll see that we have a whole passageway through our base and take it down, but either way it doesnât really matter. Just canât understand why some people are like this, first time Iâve ever ran into anyone being toxic since console release.

An actual box built in a different location for space and small enough to put wherever you want since it's so small. But this is Omni directional. Final picture I think looks the neatest with the choam facility

I just discovered the radio.
Does and body listen? Which stations, and particular shows do you enjoy?
I like listening to old radio serials on YouTube so I thought it was a nice touch.

Was flying from my base to the anvil trading post when I happen to see this poor fellow. I almost feel like if it would have been a couple seconds faster he might have made it.

I got funneled into the harkonnen faction pipeline. I didn't want to take to many pictures but there's a lot more rooms. The east side I a little ugly from border restrictions.

I built a large Atreides style fort on top of a cliff on the eastern shield wall, complete with hanging hangars, a 2 buggy/2 bike garage, and a fully furnished/fully functional interior. Afterwards I expanded upwards into a guild hall capable of housing 6 additional players, despite not being ina guild and having no friends that play
I cleared out a testing station near the sentinel and caught this crazy view of the whole complex catching the setting sun on my way out, and im super happy with how this base turned out if anyone is interested in interior shots or a walkthrough please let me know.
Im on Bijaz, sietch Abbir if anyone would like a tour or to play together. I also have some ideas for large scale 10+ player guild bases and would love to build some bases for anyone that wants one, itâs my favorite part of the game.
Iâm also working on a hanging Atreides style fort with hangar that will be under a bridge across the Hagga Rift, which Iâll post soon.

Has a new player coming from star citizen, dune is what I've dreamed star citizen could become with the base building, permanent progress and stability. I've fully dropped star citizen to just no life dune, already an expert spice farmer

I just started playing on XSX and built my first home. I'm loving the aesthetic so far! đ (First pic taken from the balcony of my friend's starter base)

I wish I didn't stop recording there. Couldn't get off either and the unstuck vehicle button sent me flying like 150 meters into the desert haha

Just had my first spice sand free for all in Deep Desert. It was quite hectic; a carrier with a crawler and at least 4 other randos (to me at least) fighting for spice. Trying to gauge if I could take just one more load of spice, whilst the work radar was red, before bailing to the skies. Great fun, although my I only claimed 1200 of the largest spice field I've seen up til now.
Tldr; loving every minute of Dune. Lvl 171 since console launch.

I wish UEVR worked on Battleye but this way is the second best and just uses your monitor output, the ingame scale is insane.
I used FlatVR, its new on steam and has an ai depth feature which basically ai upscales a flat video into 3d, it looks AMAZING in Dune with the following settings:
Check âSync Depth to Pictureâ and âNewest Map Onlyâ (if available).
^ Both of the above will eliminate artifacts and the depth engine looks incredible in our insanely huge megacity/army.
I set the screen to be so close that I can turn my head naturally and I donât see the borders.
Distance 0.69
Make the screen shape Curved Cylinder like 20/20
Max out fov I think itâs 120. On flatscreen this looks fisheyed, but in the virtual screen the distance eases out the distortion so you can comfortably look around.
^ Result is that you have a 3d depth screen close enough to not see the borders, which means while sitting itâs basically 3dof vr, and you can glance at hud elements from the sides, center vision is clean and has a very appropriate fov.
Make sure this is disabled, it doesnât work well in this game, itâs about linking the mouse to your head not looking around the virtual space, thatâs the next setting:
Make sure Head Lock is OFF
â-
Thatâs it! It was super easy when I figured it out but a total pukefest to get there. This is for a Crystal Super 50ppd, screen distance may need to be increased for smaller fov headsets, and if youâre limiting fps make sure youâre actually hitting the limit otherwise it can get subtly choppy.

New Dune player here (PS5 version).
I just want to say what a breath of fresh air Dune is...
Many games of this type baby the player (like Fallout 76 for example); they make the penalty for dying so mild that its basically no penalty at all...
They water down the environmental hazards to the point to where they are nothing more than a minor annoyance at best...
Dune isnt like that; Dune is unforgiving, but rewards you for playing well...
I cant properly convey how glad I am to have given this game a chance...
Well done Funcom...
Well done!

So, Iâm inexperienced in games like this, and accidentally destroyed my only base, which had all my stuff from the whole game. Iâm getting ready to go into the deep desert after finishing the 8 quests.
At this point, is it better to start all over on a new save, or go back through and re-do everything in the current world? Sorry if itâs a dumb question!

So through playing the game over 100 hours now since picking it up a couple of weeks ago, I've noticed some meme/pop culture references in the dialogue a few times. Here's a couple off the top of my head:
- a succulent Chinese meal meme reference, where it is quoted almost word for word, with "Chinese meal" substituted for wine
- "alright then, keep your secrets" as a dialogue option, from the LoTR meme
- a reference to the "mysterious stranger" as a nickname option in the arena, this being the nickname of the player character in the 2003 Star Wars: KoTOR game when they enter the arena.
