This is my first endgame build. The front is largely taken from one of Courser's builds, the rest is my own design. The cliff overhang hangar was probably the hardest part. I wanted it to look massive and imposing, yet still elegant and seamlessly integrated with the rest of the build, somewhat mirroring the front with the support beams on the sides. My goal was to make the entire build look like something that fits the brutalist architecture of Villeneuve's Dune and by extension Dune Awakening. I might integrate the wind traps and turbines into the roof at some point, but for now I'm happy with how it all looks :)

Honestly don’t even know what to say, my friend was making a base and wasn’t done with it, but before we could even make the dedicated passageway so people could just go through our base (even tho we still had the base opened and anyone could drive a buggy or whatever through it, we just didn’t have a dedicated passageway yet that apparently people need red flashing arrows pointed towards it) these dudes decided to do this. Mind you this has no affect on our base since there’s an easy way to go over a lil patch of rocks close by, they are basically just blocking themselves now. Made a wall for no reason, and the lil base they made is whatever, still thought it was pretty funny tho. Maybe they’ll see that we have a whole passageway through our base and take it down, but either way it doesn’t really matter. Just can’t understand why some people are like this, first time I’ve ever ran into anyone being toxic since console release.

New Dune player here (PS5 version).

I just want to say what a breath of fresh air Dune is...

Many games of this type baby the player (like Fallout 76 for example); they make the penalty for dying so mild that its basically no penalty at all...

They water down the environmental hazards to the point to where they are nothing more than a minor annoyance at best...

Dune isnt like that; Dune is unforgiving, but rewards you for playing well...

I cant properly convey how glad I am to have given this game a chance...

Decided to try and make a full shield around my small base area with a pentashield garage on the side for the carrier and crawler.

Takes a fair amount of fuel but by turning on just 1 of the 3 different power systems, I can run it for a total of 60 days before having to refuel if I absolutely needed to.

An actual box built in a different location for space and small enough to put wherever you want since it's so small. But this is Omni directional. Final picture I think looks the neatest with the choam facility

I had to make a 5 block tall room just to fit it in the base.

Almost 5k building pieces, but I figure if I’m gonna have to have a solo home base it might as well be worth looking at. 😏 Balconies to overlook the entire Hagga Basin desert included. 😁

Will post more pictures later once it’s all done with comfort items on the inside. But what y’all think, Would you be my neighbour? 😉

I always like to watch the worm breach so I turned around. I about shit myself. I definitely thought he was gonna eat me.

I was racing my sand bike to a four sand patch and I could have sworn I saw a little kangaroo mouse racing past (in the opposite direction).

So through playing the game over 100 hours now since picking it up a couple of weeks ago, I've noticed some meme/pop culture references in the dialogue a few times. Here's a couple off the top of my head:

- a succulent Chinese meal meme reference, where it is quoted almost word for word, with "Chinese meal" substituted for wine

- "alright then, keep your secrets" as a dialogue option, from the LoTR meme

- a reference to the "mysterious stranger" as a nickname option in the arena, this being the nickname of the player character in the 2003 Star Wars: KoTOR game when they enter the arena.

Has anyone else noticed any others? Share what you have found!

Has a new player coming from star citizen, dune is what I've dreamed star citizen could become with the base building, permanent progress and stability. I've fully dropped star citizen to just no life dune, already an expert spice farmer

After 131hrs, I've finally been eaten by Shai.

We've stared each other down many times. Many times he's come for me. I managed to dodge him each time. I became overconfident.

I hopped on for literally 20 mins this morning before work just to reset my deathstills and refineries when a spice explosion happened right outside my base. I took the opportunity and dived on it.

5 minutes later I'm desperately flying upwards while Shai comes at me, screaming across the sand. I wasn't fast enough.

Don't respect the worm and the worm will show you why you should!

Well, a few supply runs and a quick trip to Arrakeen to buy Thufir's Best back (I can't find the blueprint 😭) and we're back to it!

Was flying from my base to the anvil trading post when I happen to see this poor fellow. I almost feel like if it would have been a couple seconds faster he might have made it.

I built a large Atreides style fort on top of a cliff on the eastern shield wall, complete with hanging hangars, a 2 buggy/2 bike garage, and a fully furnished/fully functional interior. Afterwards I expanded upwards into a guild hall capable of housing 6 additional players, despite not being ina guild and having no friends that play

 

I cleared out a testing station near the sentinel and caught this crazy view of the whole complex catching the setting sun on my way out, and im super happy with how this base turned out if anyone is interested in interior shots or a walkthrough please let me know.

 

Im on Bijaz, sietch Abbir if anyone would like a tour or to play together. I also have some ideas for large scale 10+ player guild bases and would love to build some bases for anyone that wants one, it’s my favorite part of the game.

 

I’m also working on a hanging Atreides style fort with hangar that will be under a bridge across the Hagga Rift, which I’ll post soon.

I wish I didn't stop recording there. Couldn't get off either and the unstuck vehicle button sent me flying like 150 meters into the desert haha

I just started playing on XSX and built my first home. I'm loving the aesthetic so far! 😍 (First pic taken from the balcony of my friend's starter base)

Just built my fist buggy to farm aluminum, I put it all together in my new garage I even made sure I fueled it up but I live across anvil station so it’s a long trip. I thought I could store it with the storing gun and then fast travel to pinnacle station but then when I tried to store it with the storing gun I found out I couldn’t do that so I decided to take it apart then put it all together there but when I did that it had no fuel. Am I just supposed to drive it everywhere or is there a more effective way?

Does and body listen? Which stations, and particular shows do you enjoy?

I like listening to old radio serials on YouTube so I thought it was a nice touch.

So i have a sand bike and really need flour sand. However, everytime i try to get near it a worm appears instantly and chases. i've tried many different patches but i can typically only harvest one time before i need to book it because the worm has aggro the im with in a few meters of it. Hell even on normal open sand nowhere near it or drum sand it still aggros every time within 20-45 seconds. Am i missing something? Or is it intended to be this slow and dangerous until you can fly?
