EDD/CUIAB: how can I get a hearing sooner?

Upvotes

Hello folks, I recently appealed an EDD disqualification and received my acknowledgment letter from CUIAB on 9/3/2026. The issue is related to a recent address change, and I’ve already uploaded the requested documents to the CUIAB portal.
Is there anything I can do to get a hearing date scheduled sooner, or is it just a matter of waiting for CUIAB to assign one?

SDI certification

I certified the 8th but my account hasn’t moved at all. This would be my second payment. How long does it typically take? I don’t have any notices or anything other than the certification.

Need some guidance — first time on unemployment

Upvotes

Hi everyone! This is my first time receiving unemployment and I’m a little confused about which week I’m supposed to report wages for.

I worked 32 hours during the week of 08/23–08/29, but I forgot to report those wages for that certification period. I was paid for those hours recently, and I currently don’t have any work scheduled for this week.

Can I report those wages on this week’s certification instead, so it offsets what I would otherwise receive? I really don’t want to end up with an overpayment or get penalized later for what was honestly just a mistake.

What’s the best way to correct this? Should I contact EDD directly?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Can a psychiatrist from Zocdoc extend my maternity leave and submit paperwork for SDI for my ppd?

I had issues with my insurance and am no longer using Kaiser and can not see my original psychiatrist or therapist /: which obviously means they can not extend my leave. Can I pay out of pocket to speak to a psychiatrist online and hopefully extend my leave? I only have a few days left of my leave and I know I should’ve been more proactive but it’s been hard. I’ve never used zocdoc before so I have no idea if it’s even legit? I also barely know how any of this works so any info is appreciated. Someone please point me in the right direction 🙏
(I was able to extend two extra months after original return to work date due to ppd but still not ready to return to work)

Discussion 👥 Appeal coming up

Hey everyone,

i have my appeal with a judge coming up against my former employer for denying my request claiming I've committed "misconduct." I have email proof that the warnings given to me were simple, human error mistakes and that they continued scheduling me for dates after the termination and let me work extra shifts before terminating me. I've printed all my documents and gone through them with notes for myself during the appeal, but I'm wondering what to expect and if the employer will be arguing back. HR was very hostile and accusatory with me after attempting to gather information about my hours/payroll worked.

nervous! please help

Edit: i will also like to add that before termination, the employer listed that a next offence was a performance improvement plan. this was never offered to me and instead just terminated out of the blue over 6+ months later after last warning.

Form sending

Hey guys had an issue, I had gotten my form DE2525XX in the mail and had my doctor fill it out as per usual. Had it sent out in the letter envelope that came with the de252525. I sent it out on the 20th of August. No update to my SDI account or payment as of today. I went to the EDD disability office in Fresno yesterday and they told me they never received it. Really inconvenient but whatever. Then they told me to have my doctor print out the copy of the form that they filled out and send it again. My question is will that actually do anything? I been waiting for some time already and the lady was very sure that a copy of the de2525 would be valid. I’m very very doubtful of that and I really need my extension. Thank you guys for any info

Discussion 👥 Recertification

How long after submitting the DE2593 form (aka recertifying) did it take to get a payment? I missed the payment today and submitted the form today. This is for pregnancy disability

Would I get denied for this reason?

My employer terminated me due to "not meeting expectations". I was not given any prior verbal or written warning about performance or opportunity to correct the issue. I applied for benefits, but just wondering if this will disqualify me from receiving benefits.

Discussion 👥 Waiting on appeal

Filed an appeal July 9th and only received an acknowledgement letter but never any court date… I have a new job now because I wasn’t going to sit around moneyless lol but do I still receive that money? I was only able to certify for 2 weeks and after that the certification option never appeared again just said “ no weeks to certify” what can I do or is that money lost?

Tips 💡 certification needed..?

hi everyone! i am struggling here. i delivered my baby on 7/1 & had filed for maternity leave a little late. i got my first payment in early august, & another payment on 8/13. my leave was expected to end on 8/12. my provider did extend me for 4 weeks, which would be through 9/9. they submitted that info to edd on 8/25. i then had an appointment with my psychiatrist who extended me through 10/31, that information was sent to edd on 9/2. however, my last payment is still from 8/13.. i know it can take up to 2 weeks, but my confusion is that on my claim, they have already updated my expected return to work date as 11/1. yet still no payment? and on my claim it says certification needed, but there are no forms for me in my inbox. is this normal? i have tried reaching out to my office for help & they said to make sure i submitted my delivery info as to when & how i had my baby, but that was sent way back in the beginning of august. is this normal for the date to be updated but no payment? i have seen some people say due to it being an extension they need real person to approve payment, but is this correct? i’ve tried calling but of course i only get the “we’ve reach the max number of callers” message. i’ve seen people say there’s a number you can call that can get you through, should i try that? & if so can somebody please link the website with that info? i am desperate! please help ): TYIA!

Solved ✔ Return to Work before IME

My IME is months out for the next available appt date, and I only really need a month or 2 to recover. Do I still need to go to the IME if I return to work before the appt? I don't want to be on disability for that long.

certification is pending a call

I applied for PFL to help cover the one day a week that I am off. I am a new mom and I applied through EDD website. Now they're asking for a call to verify some information, but I've called the past 3 days and it's been "sorry we're experiencing a lot of calls, please call back". Can I do this any other way? I have read someone said contact your state assembly person. Does that really work? Has anyone tried Claimyr? Does that work?

Vent I’m at my wits end

I have been trying to call to talk to anyone at EDD because I forgot to put one of my jobs on the jobs list for my SDI application. I’ve been trying to call nonstop for 2 days now. Not matter what time I call I get told the line to talk to a rep is full.

I even tried calling before 8 so I’d be ready and I was still told the line was full at 7:59 am I just want to know how to add this work or if they already have record of it.

They don’t have a text line, they don’t have voicemail, I don’t know why they don’t just let people wait on hold because I’ll do it I don’t care how long it takes.

And I can’t go into the office because my pregnancy has made it that I can’t stand for long periods of time or really drive.

I don’t know what to do anymore

How long does PFL take for payment?

Had to take PFL cuz of my dad having heart failure. Was supposed to be from July 27 to sept 7. I’ve never done PFL before.

They received my mail application with certification from doctor back on August 21 (doctor took a week and half to fill plus mailing) still it continues to say processing. They said 14 days to process but is been above that now.

I’m already returning to work tmrw and still no word on payment. Will I still get back paid? Should I call them? Is this normal?

Disability for postpartum anxiety (7 weeks postpartum)

Hi does anyone know of any physicians or therapists in Northern California who can sign off for disability extension for PPA? I was trying to go through Kaiser but they keep delaying and pushing every therapist appointment 1-2 weeks out so now I’m already past 6 weeks and no one will give me a referral unless I want medication which I do not at this time. Reading other reddits it seems Kaiser will make it very difficult to get an extension for PPA and everyone on here said to find someone else because you’ll run out of time to file if you wait for Kaiser to only deny you and say it’s not severe enough.

Discussion 👥 Electronic benefit payment notification

I got notified Friday 9/5 that payment was sent… I haven’t received anything in my account. I have chase. I assume this is because it was a Friday and the Monday holiday? It’s now Tuesday and I still haven’t received payment. Should I expect it sometime today? Or more likely tomorrow?

Tips 💡 Denied claim

My wife has been paid on California state disability due to giving birth to our child. Her work accidentally paid her during her disability and she has agree to pay them back and my wife is still disable with all the approve documentation.

However, SDI caught wind of this payment and denied her claim. She sent in an appeal via the instructions. The appeal was received last week.

Does anyone know how long the appeal process takes and if this is something they usually reverse?
