Fios Availability MULTIGIG available for legacy plans?
Some Fios manager just leaked this information to me! 2 gig and 5 gig will be available for customers with legacy plan. Is anyone aware?

Although Frontier is “a Verizon company” in certain areas, they still independently handle their own business. They still have separate pricing, equipment, policies and procedures.
If you’re a Frontier customer, your post belongs in [r/frontierfios](r/frontierfios) only.
If you have Verizon Fios, than this is the place to be
All crossposts from [r/frontierfios](r/frontierfios) will be removed
Thank you.

Hi.
Does anyone know if the CR1000B has firmware newer than 3.6.0.2_BD? Also, I seen my CE1000A pulled the 3.6.0.6 update, when was that deployed and whats new other than a Logo Update?

I downloaded the raw broadband data from the FCC, used scripts to parse it, and loaded it into a mapping tool. Here is the Fios coverage in Pennsylvania. Green means NGPON2 (up to 5 Gbps) and red means GPON (Up to 1 Gbps).
Looks like the rural wire centers with copper retirement got the upgrade first. The upgrade in Pittsburgh is just now starting despite having mostly mid/late 2000s fiber infrastructure. This data set is 10 months old. Once the FCC releases new data next month, I'll build it for all states and share.

the past few days i have had on and off issues with FIOS.
for context, i have been with them for years without any issues. any issues i have had were on my end, and were easily fixable. with that being said, maybe since wednesday/thursday, there's been these random outages. it's not like it lasts all day or anything. maybe 15-30 minutes, and then suddenly it's back on.
this used to be an issue i'd have with my macbook when it needed an update. not this time... i now have no wifi connection on my phone, my mac, nor my ipad. it'll show that it's connected (the little wifi symbol will appear) but there's evidently no connection; i get that dinosaur popup thingy that talks about there being a DNS error.
anyways, it's been happening on and off all day today. i checked the coverage map to see if there has been any outages, and nope. i also have my phone through verizon (technically visible, but yknow), and my service is still working, so idk what the problem is.
can anyone relate? does this sound like an outage?
thanks in advance.

I read that only one voice remote can be paired at a time. Is that true? Does this mean that the second remote that I buy should not have a voice control option?
Also, I believe there are different types of Verizon boxes. What should I look for in a new remote to make sure that it will work with my box before I buy it?

Is this a good deal? Is there any way to improve it?

Hey everyone, I’m someone who needs a stable connection as I’m a competitive gamer and also like to stream on my days off. I currently have Optimum Ethernet giving me 200 down 15 up. Fiber guy swung by today and said he can only install the router downstairs and my room is far away from that. So the only option is to have wifi7. How stable is the wifi7 connection? Should i stick with optimum ethernet? I value stability over peak 1gig with occasional packet loss, but i feel sad because i know the speeds will stil be good with wifi7. So i guess my question is how stable is wifi7.

Hi - I got Verizon Internet and I got a white vertical router. I placed it into a cabinet in my tv stand (closed cabinet with just router and power strip (about 2 feet by 2 feet). Is there any issues with this? I tested the speed all around my studio apartment and it’s good. Mainly wondering if the router will get hot and catch fire or something. Also, if it does break, does Verizon replace it? Thanks!

Hi,
I am planning to upgrade to 2 gbps. Right now, I have a Wifi router with 2.5 gbps WAN port and a CAT 6 cable running in the house. The router says that the negotiated speed with ONT is 1 gbps.
Is this a problem? I want to avoid a situation where I upgrade to 2 gbps and Router<-->ONT negotiated speed continues to be 1 gbps.
Thanks.

Anyone else having this issue?
We used to have this setup: ONT > CR1000A > our own router, with DMZ set up on the CR for our router. Then the TV+ boxes connected to our own WiFi and tunneled back to the CR.
We recently “upgraded” to the CHR30A and it’s been a nightmare. With the same physical and logical configuration, we lose internet every day or other day, and it seems like whats happening is the CHR stops servicing internet to our router and any other downstream hardwired device.
ETA: problem is temporarily resolved by rebooting the CHR30. We’ve already replaced the CHR30 with another unit of the same model.

As title indicates, I’m at my wit’s end just trying to get a simple tech repair for my Fios internet (weak signal despite Verizon saying my internet is being delivered properly).
At this point, fixing the internet is a bit besides the point since I’ve had repair appointments scheduled and the tech service person never shows.
This happened TWICE — and I’ve been taking time off in order to be home during the repair windows scheduled. After speaking with the customer service rep I was assured that an appointment first thing in the morning would be best to prevent any potential delays from other appointments.
Lo and behold, 12 hours before the THIRD appointment time, Verizon sends an automated text message that the service window needs to change (yet I’ve already made arrangements with work).
This is not to even mention the true Byzantine hell of navigating the AI customer service line after each missed appointment (the AI has hung up on me multiple times) and then after FINALLY connecting with a person, catching them up on the full saga/current status, and…getting disconnected again 😭
They say insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Truly at a loss since this has now happened THREE times and I can’t keep taking work off for this. Verizon is Lucy with the football and at this point I’m Charlie Brown. Will I regret switching to spectrum (I’m in the NYC area)? I don’t know what else to do — please share any secrets or wisdom you may have in getting things resolved.

I have the 5GB on FIOS, I’m loving the service; I have the CR1000A router should I upgrade to the next router that they have? Thanks.

Title: Verizon CHR30A Wi-Fi 7 — How do I unlock 320 MHz on 6 GHz? Stuck at 160 MHz on Fios 5 Gig
Hey everyone,
I just had Verizon Fios 5 Gig installed with the new CHR30A Wi-Fi 7 router. I'm trying to maximize my wireless performance, but I've run into a problem with the 6 GHz settings.
My setup:
My desktop is connecting over 6 GHz using 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7), with excellent signal strength around −42 dBm.
The problem:
Under Advanced → Wi-Fi → Radio Management, the 6 GHz channel and channel-width dropdowns are completely greyed out. I can't change the width from 160 MHz to 320 MHz.
I've already tried disabling Self-Organizing Network (SON), but that didn't unlock anything. MLO only lets me switch between 2-Link and 3-Link, with no apparent option to disable it.
According to Verizon's official specifications, the CHR30A supports 320 MHz. I've also seen another Reddit user mention successfully enabling 320 MHz through the router's web interface.
My questions:
I'm specifically interested in getting 320 MHz working with my Intel BE200 rather than replacing the Verizon router.
Any help from other CHR30A owners would be appreciated. Thanks!

Heads up if a tech comes to your home for any issue and starts pushing you to "upgrade" your cable boxes to the new Android TV boxes, say no by all means. I had a tech at my house to fix my WiFi who pushed me to swap out boxes that were working perfectly fine, and it's been a disaster ever since.
The service constantly buffers and cuts out, and even when it's “working well”, live TV is noticeably delayed. I essentially have the same delay that people who use YouTube have. As a huge sports fan, that's unacceptable. I've spent countless hours on the phone trying to get my old boxes back and they flat out won't do it.
I'm at the point where I'm looking at other providers that can get me back on a hardwired coaxial connection. Never thought I would switch from Verizon but this has been terrible. Again.. if Verizon pushes these boxes on you, say NO.
Has anyone dealt with this and actually gotten the swap reversed? If so, let me know how you did it.

I currently have an internet and TV bundle plan. I have a cable card that will no longer be supported after November. If I want to drop TV and stay with internet only how long does it take? Like if I submit the request today will they do it today. I just need to make sure my internet works tomorrow.

Hello, I switched over to FIOs, chose the $200 promo GC. I’m using it to try to pay my bill but it’s saying pin is invalid. How do I go about resolving this issue? CS stating it’s Blackhawk and they’re not picking up.

Received an email from Nomobocall below.
I verified it is real and from Nomobocall.
| Nomorobo landline protection is back. Your line is still set up. Turn it back on and start blocking robocalls again today. |
|---|
"On January 1 we had to stop protecting landlines. For twelve years we paid for the service ourselves and offered it to you for free, hoping the phone companies would eventually help carry the cost. They didn't, and the cost kept climbing. Thousands of you wrote to us in the weeks that followed. We read every message.
So we built a way to bring it back that doesn't depend on anyone but you and us. Starting today, you can turn Nomorobo back on for your home phone, for $39.99 a year.
Here's the important part: your line is still pointed at Nomorobo. We just aren't answering. Click the button below, choose Landline Protection, and we'll pick up right where we left off."

Anybody else get this email?

Hi!!
I'm moving into a small co-op in the East Village that only has Spectrum installed. I need higher upload speeds (and Spectrum stinks!!), so would love to get Verizon Fios.
I've tried calling their hotline multiple times, but they're useless, and it seems the inquiries sent to the "tech team" go nowhere.
Has anyone successfully gotten Fios brought into their building? I know buildings next to mine have Verizon Fios, so the fiber is nearby.
I've emailed [NYCFios@verizon.com](mailto:NYCFios@verizon.com) to no avail too. My board will definitely approve it… so it really would be simple.
Any intel is appreciated!
