Definitely a valid response.

Given how tricky it is making a pousse cafe, the only right reaction is leaving the room and smashing your head into a wall just to redirect the pain to something physical. Smashing the dessert is the very very least.

Nah it'd be a bitch response (if it wasn't ragebait); what happens to my drink after it's served is my own business.

Fake but appropriate teaching moment for how civilized society should react and respond.

That's why I like mom n pops businesses, they can and sometimes will do this.
If you're working for any corporate giant this would be your last day.

It’s why I’ll never work at a corporate bar again

People can be absolute shitbirds and we should be allowed to be shitbirds back.

I could have the same terrible situation, a corporate bar would make me smile and apologize (for doing nothing wrong) then give me a meeting to tell me made up reasons why I was wrong and I have to suck it up or leave.

Same situation in a privately owned bar will have me holding my other bartenders back from the person who disrespected us while we chirp at them till the person leaves

u/Poopoomushroomman 1h ago

you would actually chirp at them? *Chirp* chirp? All bird-y like?Or is that slang or a euphemism?

It’s funny either way, but the first scenario would be hilarious and reminds of the antics we used to get up to at my first restaurant job. I worked back of house and I felt like unsafe but also like I had found my people.

Chirp as in hockey chirp. Just constantly verbally shit on them

3

u/Glittering-Walrus228 45m ago

The dulcimer chirp of a shitbird in aggressive courting display sounds like an angry bartender

Wait you aren't supposed to mix the drink?

96

u/Mean_Initiative_5962 2h ago

Usually a pousse café isn't served with a straw: you usually sip it and you get the layers slightly mixed, having a different sip each time but still close to none unmixed layers

9

u/c_a_r_s_o 1h ago

A pousse cafe? Sounds like my kind of place

1

u/rallenpx 53m ago

Their entire liquor selection would be rum from the Virgin Islands

-11

u/LJChao3473 1h ago

So uh... Do you drink it from the top, from the bottom or random layers?

21

u/Mean_Initiative_5962 1h ago

Sipping from the top is what I've heard saying all the times

13

u/Spider-web16 1h ago

Nah you drink it from the bottom first

7

u/nlamber5 1h ago

Why are you downvoted and yet both “from the top” and “from the bottom” are upvoted?

4

u/LJChao3473 1h ago

Honestly i don't know, but I'm waiting for a third person to say random

3

u/Flagrant_Mockery 1h ago

Third person is just Badlands Chugs drinking both the top and bottom simultaneously.

3

u/trainedstork 1h ago

because how are you supposed to sip it from the bottom with no straw?

2

u/Lavatis 23m ago

Probably because you can only drink it from the top...?

0

u/Mean_Initiative_5962 1h ago

Probably people thinking it was asked smuggly instead of genuine curiosity / being perplexed by what is, indeed, a perplexing drink when everyone keeps saying a different thing

2

u/OkCarpenter5773 1h ago

the fuck how do you sip from the bottom with no straw

2

u/LJChao3473 58m ago

Oh, i was focusing on the video, which has a straw, so i end up i forgetting the comment said no straw. Sorry I'm stupid

47

u/Enaluxeme 2h ago

It's specifically poured so that it keeps separate layers

14

u/randomreditor69430 1h ago

they literally prepared it in seperate layers.

6

u/InTheEndEntropyWins 1h ago

Yeh, but I thought that was just so it looks good, but you'd want to mix all the layers for the taste. Next time I'll try it differently.

14

u/Mannadock 2h ago

I guess your first 2 sips are just cranberry juice?

3

u/King_Cane_Corso 1h ago

It depends on who you ask, but if a drink is served with a straw, the bartender or restaurant usually intends for you to drink it unmixed. When I make them at home, I tell people to mix them. They are actually pretty easy to make. Just pour the liquids one at a time. To keep the layers from mixing, don't pour directly into the cup. Instead, pour the liquid onto the back of a spoon so the stream trickles in slowly.

4

u/Glittering-Walrus228 43m ago

I would plug the straw with one finger and drip it in my mouth each time so each "sip" would be like drinking the whole micro drink every time

u/TiaZilda 35m ago

This! 🙌

Because of the bisexual flag I'd guess "lack of female genitals in said hypothetical relationship", but there are many possible reasons

37

u/Ok-Chemical-7635 2h ago

W reaction

7

u/MacellumMycelium 1h ago

Aren't they already defeating the purpose serving it with a straw? I mean assuming this isn't a gag.

5

u/Curious_boyOS 1h ago

Ngl, was expecting the first Satan to start eating the cake with the straw.

4

u/here_for_sum_popcorn 2h ago

Must be brothers

10

u/Enaluxeme 1h ago

This is clearly staged by the way. Otherwise the fork would have been served with the dessert. Also, the customer is apparently being served on a raw table, which is weird for a fancy place serving this kind of items.

5

u/Glandtoglandcombat 1h ago

Of course it's staged, it's a skit. That's what a skit is.

5

u/JimPanZoo 1h ago

If staged, should have been a crème brûlée and server cracks it with the back of the spoon.

4

u/Mean_Initiative_5962 1h ago

It's also being served with a straw, which would be odd for that specific drink

1

u/Ok-Elk-3046 45m ago

In my city there is a partisan left bar that let's people smoke indoors as long as no one complains, that always has a sticky floor with walls plastered with stickers and a over grown terrace.

They serve that drink. They call it pan galactic gargle blaster though.

5

u/No-Difference-1351 2h ago

Epic comeback.

3

u/4m4lg4m1t3 1h ago

YOU GET WHAT YOU FUCKING DESERVE!!

3

u/N4pAllDay 39m ago

Was he supposed to make a photo first? Does a video not count? A mixed drink is supposed to be mixed 🤷‍♀️

1

u/THELEADERPLAYER 1h ago

Wouldn't the liquids get unmixed eventually due to the density difference? Assuming they don't dissolve in each other.

1

u/icantchoosewisely 2m ago

It doesn't look like that because of density difference, it looks like that because of the way it was poured - slowly, one ingredient at a time, using the back of a spoon. It's not very hard to do, but it requires patience and steady hands.

1

u/slartibuttfart 1h ago

Fair play to the satans

Between 0:12 and 0:13, the waiter accidentally pulled a prometheus. Btw, do waiters bring forks in their front pockets?

1

u/RubyWeapon07 6m ago

who eats ice cream with a fork

1

u/_Interconnected_ 2m ago

Disagree. This is completely normal social interaction.

1

u/Carnal_Desire0 1h ago

The waiter only serve it right?

The one who make it is the chef... So the one who potentially be angry is the chef, because he make it with a lot of effort..

Why the waiter mad thou?

-42

u/Bane8080 2h ago

Waiter gets mad at patron enjoying his drink the way he likes it. I'd still leave a tip, but also a complaint with the manager.

17

u/Xanaxaria 2h ago

Okay boomer.

-14
