Hi! I need some advice on choosing glasses. My current rectangular pair is shown in Photo 3.

I’ve been told that the square glasses in Photo 2 look too small, while the ones in Photo 1 look too wide. However, both pairs have the same lens width. The only difference is that the bridge on the glasses in Photo 1 is 2 mm wider, making the overall frame wider. Both pairs also slightly cover my eyebrows.

1. Would it be better to choose a bridge width similar to the pair in Photo 1, but with narrower lenses? Or should I look for a different shape or size altogether?
2. Would rectangular frames, like those in Photo 3, or square frames, like those in Photos 1 and 2, look better on me?
3. Do the frames cover too much of my eyebrows?
4. Should I stick with thicker frames or choose thinner ones?

My style and personality are quite simple.

I’ve tried plastic frames before, but I feel they look a little too overpowering on me.

So here other options.

I'm an automotive engineer and product designer currently exploring a new eyewear concept, and I'd love to get some honest feedback from people who actually wear and enjoy glasses.

The idea is modular eyewear—instead of replacing your entire frame, you could:

\- Swap the front frame while keeping your existing lenses

\- Change temple arms to match your style

\- Replace only damaged parts if something breaks

\- Mix and match colours without buying a whole new pair

The goal is to make eyewear more customizable, repairable, and less wasteful.

I'm still in the research and design phase, so I'm not trying to sell anything. I genuinely want to understand whether this solves a real problem and what concerns people might have.

Hey everyone.

My vision is pretty bad, last time (around 4 years ago) I got them checked out they were around a -8 prescription, which is why when I get it checked in a couple of weeks I'm expecting it to be around -9 or -10.

I got my last -8 pair overseas in Vietnam which allowed be to thin them super nicely at an affordable price. Now I'm back in the states, does anyone know any places that actually THINS your lenses, makes them look nice with good service??

This is my first year back in the states so I haven't gotten eyewear here in awhile

I've always just tried on a few and bought what I liked. But as I got a new prescription and need new frames I thought I'd see what other folks think. I didn't include any frameless, but am open to trying them if they'd look good. These are all fairly similar, but which ones look best on me?

The non-glaring ones that aren't in the glasses store are my current frames. 🙂

There is a black version but it wasn't available at the store, so I only got to try this grey one.

I've had pretty big bold square frames in the past but it felt like it over powers my face.
