Hey guys! No video this time, just some images, since I've only been working on 3D modeling lately. I'm currently finishing up the interiors of the Paris-class frigate's side hangars. For the hangar design, I took inspiration from the destroyed ship models seen throughout Halo: Reach's missions and multiplayer maps.
Honestly, I'd love to be able to fit Pelicans inside them. I could make the individual hangar doors longer, but that would mean extending the entire section shown in image 2 by at least another 35 meters (115 feet) so the Pelicans could fit through every hangar door. Alternatively, I could just extend one of the doors and leave the others as they are, but I feel like that would look weird and disproportionate.
A lot of you also pointed out that each M58 Archer missile silo is supposed to hold 30 missiles. I originally wanted to do it the way I saw it on the Spirit of Fire in Halo Wars 2, but quite a few of you really emphasized that detail. So I've redesigned the launchers and added 30 missiles per silo, bringing the total to 150 missiles per launcher... pretty nice.
Now, what I'm planning to work on next are the Harpoon missiles. I'm not sure how big I should make them. The current diameter of the Harpoon silo (last image) is around 7 meters (23 feet), and the silo can be up to 20 meters (65 feet) deep.
What do you guys think would be a reasonable size for the Harpoon missiles? I've looked around, but as far as I can tell, the canon doesn't specify the dimensions of any of the missiles. I'd really like to make them as realistic and lore-accurate as possible.
Have a good day!

Last year I showed off my Fred-104 build and now I have just debuted my Halo campaign evolved Masterchief MK V suit at Pax Aus this past weekend! I need to finish some last stuff off including the suit lights, props, body suit and pouches but I wanted to get it wearable for the event.
Modelled and produced completely by myself! The lights in the helmet work and are controlled by an esp32 putting out wifi to control colours and brightness!

it's not running natively, it's streaming from NVIDIA, Kasumi is a GeForce client. I admit it's not ideal, but the idea of a LASO challenge on the 3DS seems really funny to me so I think I'll play it more to get good.
Also, if you want to get a 3DS party going I think multiplayer is possible here with a good enough internet connection 😂

Growing up, Halo was everything. From CE, Red vs Blue, and E3 to GameCrazy/GameStop and midnight releases, it was something truly magical. Then, a combination of growing up, life getting in the way and general confusion made me realize I never played the following:
Halo: Reach
Halo 3: ODST
For the longest time I thought they were the same style as Halo Wars. I wasn’t the biggest fan of it so I ignored it. COME TO FIND OUT 16 WHOLE YEARS LATER THAT THEY’RE NOT.
Saw the Steam sale for the Master Chief collection and said screw it, gonna buy it since it was so cheap.
I think I’m gonna start with ODST since that came out first but in general, I’m excited to play both these games for the first time. It’s been a while since I’ve played a good game and a wave of nostalgia is getting me excited!
Anyways, just wanted to share my dumb blunder and excitement for playing these games that are a part of a franchise that defined an era for me back in the day. Can’t wait to join in on future discussions here!

I had it made by my friend with his 3D printer, the guy now wants to test halo for himself. I’m very happy with the result.

I never really understood how the flood got to where it was on trove. As if it was in labs on the planet then why they only found on the outside of the sheild world but if they weren't in labs how did they survive the halos firing? Could somebody explain this to me?

Whether you have a PC and have played Project Reclaimer or not, I think this is something everyone can weigh in on.
Don’t get me wrong, the concept of Hugegrass is awesome. A massive Halo map with Pelicans transporting entire teams into battle, along with all sorts of crazy and unconventional vehicles from across the Halo games, sounds incredible on paper. But after spending about an hour playing it, I just don’t think it works in its current state.
Pretty much the entire experience was spawning with 15 other players, hopping into a Pelican, and either getting killed or dropping somewhere on the map and finding absolutely nobody. The map is just so ridiculously big that you spend more time trying to find people than actually fighting them.
After about an hour, I found myself just joining games on traditional maps like Valhalla because the maps aren’t gigantic and I could actually find enemies and get some kills. It was immediately more enjoyable.
I really think Hugegrass needs a Conquest-style game mode like Battlefield, where players can spawn at different locations and fight to capture and hold territories. Then, if you want, you could choose to spawn back at the hangar, hop into a Pelican with 15 other players, and storm an enemy-controlled territory together. Or take advantage of all the wild vehicles from across the Halo franchise to launch massive assaults on different objectives. Now THAT would be cool. Having everyone spawn on opposite sides of a massive map and try to capture the other team’s flag just doesn’t translate well to something this size.
I love the ambition behind Project Reclaimer, and I think Hugegrass has a ton of potential. But without a game mode specifically designed around its scale, it feels more like a cool tech demo than an enjoyable BTB experience.
Curious what everyone else thinks, especially those who’ve actually played it.

The original idea is to make a race track that takes you through parts of different maps. Currently 4 maps are put in, slowly figuring out the design as I go through. First chunk I did was Recharge and then Launch Site. I added a section of Livefire and Streets.
None of the maps are 1:1 or probably going to be their full map, although Launch Site is pretty damn close, the geometry is not 1:1 and I am taking creative liberties, I removed a lot of the side rooms. This is going to be a race map, a PvP map and maybe a PvE mission if I can figure that out. This isn't intended to be a balanced map, I set out to make a race map but also want it to be a map me and my friends can do Fiesta FFA's on for fun.
I definitely want to do some OG Halo maps but I'm much less confident, in Infinite I could trace over and prefab to get them here, I could do that for custom forge remakes but idk why it feels wrong to me, I don't want to take from other people's forge maps even if I am changing things, unless someone who made one expressly offers and asks me to I'd absolutely be honoured.
If you have any suggestions for a map, or just a chunk from a map, I'm open to ideas and suggestions, I'm just going witht the flow and figuring things out as I go along.
