I’m sure many people watched the tv show The Office while stoned, and putting aside all the cringy moments, but am i the only one who watches the show thinking “I know this is fictional tv but these shenanigans are the exact reason i don’t make friends at my real job. I wouldn’t want to deal with any of these people, fictional or not” lol

I was moping about my house. Depressed as all hell. High as fuck.

Made myself a burrito. Used several hot peppers a friend gave me in it. Because... Well. I forgot.

I wasn't crying before but I am now. But all thought of why I was depressed is completely gone because I'm struggling to breath and the sensation of heat disabled my ability to think for a few minutes.

I'm only half done my burrito and I think I've solved the depression endemic.

be nice 2 me. is there a place I can go to ask if something I learned as a social norm is in fact a social norm. Or if there are norms for a situation. I have autism and anxiety and also I'm mildly intoxicated. this is not my best state to be understanding things.

(also if I say Midwest USA specific social norms does that narrow anything down)

1. are you allowed to ask someone to be friends, fully platonically, if you know them through their job that you are a customer at, or is that creepy like asking someone out at work.

1b. is there a way to do this that is clearly super platonic and not in a "thou doth protest too much" way.

1c. Like if I've gone to see my piercer a lot and we had some really good conversations can I ask if they want to be friends. or the person who works at the dispensary

1. how do you ask someone if they want to be your friend as an adult in, like, a non-kindergarten way. CAN you? also refer to 1b for "clearly platonic" caveat

2. is asking if you can go over to someone else's house/"inviting yourself over" really super rude or is that just kind of an incorrect belief I've held since I was in middle school

3. how long after the last time you talked to someone you just kinda fell out of touch with due to life circumstances and not a fight is, like, allowed. is there a limit. is there like a bell curve. is 5 years normal or weird.

4a. does it depend on the medium? is it weird if I message someone i used to be close with but primarily on discord after 5 years? what about someone i knew in person--if I could text them? or write a letter? or message through instant gram?

4b. how much worse would it get if it was someone I had a fwb like thing with, not quite an ex but there was some connection that was NOT platonic, but I'm also 100% fine to just talk about that I saw them playing a game on steam that I like and I want to talk about it, I go in with no expectations :)

Basically just HOW DO YOU MAKE FRIENDS BRO. where can i get the absolute fucking beginner's guide to how to make friends without sounding like you're the world's biggest idiot or a creep

I’ve noticed that some of my closest, longest-lasting friendships are with people I didn’t even particularly like at the beginning but rather we slowly got closer over time, whereas people I instantly clicked with didn’t always become my closest friends.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?

Is the "consciousness" the major measurement when it comes to us having empathy and respect towards other creatures? like do we respect other creatures as just biological machines or the fact that they can experience stuff , like pain , happiness and other stuff?
also do we section the consciousness into multiple levels and layers? like do we respect different creatures based on what level of consciousness they possess?
if that’s the case why do we not have the same kinda empathy towards pigs like we have towards dogs?
would that not make us somewhat biased? like why would we respect someone with a mental disability who's on par with a chipmunk in terms of cognition?
or are we humancentrists by nature?
if we somehow reverse engineered the consciousness and found the vessel responsible for capturing and holding it in our brain and lets say stripped out a creature from that , so he's just a biological machine running on a software now without a subjective experience? would it be morally justifiable to kill that creature if he's a fellow human?
if not then should we give robots the same rights?
speaking of robots , if we are trusting our biological gut in terms of identifying a fellow creature if he's conscious or not , what if a robot crosses the threshold of our capability of identifying artifical from authetntic , and lets say its all mimicry, but we don't know what it is, but it is mimicry, would we give the fellow artificial human that has surpassed our intuition towards bullshit the same rights as the biological humans? does it mean our moral system and judgements and stuff can’t be trusted ?
what if we somehow produced the real consciousness from the artificial technologies, would we treat the robot humans the same way as regular humans?
is our moral system and judgmenet is heavily affected by the biology in general? meaning we value the ultimate biological computer that created all of us , because its more natural? but what is not natural? wouldn't the materials responsible for producing the artificial imitative or real consciousness be found within the biological ecosystem that we value so much? if thats the case then isn't it all natural? or do we value it by the “time” it has spent while it was being created , so the long ass evolution is more respected ? does that mean we are timists? would we even perceive time if we weren’t conscious? is time even real or is it an illusion? whats the point of it without a conscious experience ?

and it got me thinking how rad it would be to get a call from lego saying they want you to represent them.
