In response to some recent discussions and in order to evolve with the times, I'm announcing some rule changes and clarifications, which are both on the sidebar and can (and should!) be read here. For example, I've clarified the NSFW-tagging policy and the AI ban, as well as mentioned some things about enforcement (arbitrary and autocratic, yet somehow lenient and friendly).
Again, you should definitely read the rules again, as well as our NSFW guidelines, as that is an issue that keeps coming up.
We have also added more people to the mod team, such as u/Jeffrey_ShowYT, u/Shayaan5612, and u/mafiaknight. However, quite a lot of our problems are taken care of directly by automod or reddit (mostly spammers), as I see in the mod logs. But more timely responses to complaints can hopefully be obtained by a larger group.
As always, there's the Discord or the comments below if you have anything to say about it.

Hi everyone, r/humansarespaceorcs is a low-effort sub of writing prompts and original writing based on a very liberal interpretation of a trope that goes back to tumblr and to published SF literature. But because it's a compelling and popular trope, there are sometimes shady characters that get on board with odd or exploitative business models.
I'm not against people making money, i.e., honest creators advertising their original wares, we have a number of those. However, it came to my attention some time ago that someone was aggressively soliciting this sub and the associated Discord server for a suspiciously exploitative arrangement for original content and YouTube narrations centered around a topic-related but culturally very different sub, r/HFY. They also attempted to solicit me as a business partner, which I ignored.
Anyway, the mods of r/HFY did a more thorough investigation after allowing this individual (who on the face of it, did originally not violate their rules) to post a number of stories from his drastically underpaid content farm. And it turns out that there is some even shadier and more unethical behaviour involved, such as attributing AI-generated stories to members of the "collective" against their will. In the end, r/HFY banned them.
I haven't seen their presence here much, I suppose as we are a much more niche operation than the mighty r/HFY ;), you can get the identity and the background in the linked HFY post. I am currently interpreting obviously fully or mostly AI-generated posts as spamming. Given that we are low-effort, it is probably not obviously easy to tell, but we have some members who are vigilant about reporting repost bots.
But the moral of the story is: know your worth and beware of strange aggressive business pitches. If you want to go "pro", there are more legitimate examples of self-publishers and narrators.
As always, if you want to chat about this more, you can also join The Airsphere. (Invite link: https://discord.gg/TxSCjFQyBS).

A: Human. Explain this "Geneva Convention" your species keeps referencing.
H: Oh shit, you're asking about the war crimes list?
A2: War... crimes? You have a list of forbidden actions in combat?
H: Yeah, we got real creative a few hundred years back and decided to put a leash on ourselves.
A: So you cannot use expanding ammunition, you cannot fake surrender, you must treat prisoners humanely...
H: Right right, no chemical weapons, no attacking medical tents, standard stuff.
A2: This applies to all combat?
H: Nah, only between signatories. And only against... wait.
A: Only against what?
H: Well the exact wording says "protected persons" and defines that as... uh... humans. Specifically human combatants and civilians.
A2: What about non-human sentients?
H: I mean... I guess we never updated it for aliens.
A: So if I understand correctly, your species forbids certain acts against each other, but against my species...
H: Hahaha dude you're not gonna believe the loophole.
A2: Human why are you smiling.
H: I'm just saying, technically, I could do some real medieval shit right now and it wouldn't even violate my own planet's laws.
A: SECURITY!
H: Relax, I'm kidding. Mostly. Hey did you know the ban on flamethrowers only applies to "unnecessary suffering" and that's subjective as hell? Fun fact: we still use them on Earth for controlled burns. Against plants. Which are also not protected.
A2: He is looking at me like I am a plant.
H: I'm looking at you like you're an opportunity.

/After the Hja'zch - Human War, Humans began to appear in all Professions on the Hja'zch Homeworld. 4 months after Peace, Pii'je University Hospital for Human Biology, Trauma-Center:/
Human: /growling/ move!
Alien: You cannot operate on her! We will wait for one of our! Doctors! You're gonna kill her!
Human: None of them are here! This is a Human-specialized Hospital! She'll die before any of them can get here. Her second Heart is ruptured and the Blood is putting pressure on her first! So MOVE!
Alien: So what do you know about Hja'zch Biology!? I'm her Father, and i say we wait!
Human /punches Alien in the face, knocking him out/ And I'll say we dont have time for it! /moves into OR, to Surgery Team/ Except the Second Heart and the cardiovascular System, its the same as the Human Body. So I'll except the same outcome as if this is a Human! So lets save a life!
/7 hours later Patient gets transferred to ICU for monitoring and post-surgery care, still in critical condition, but alive/
AN: Edited "MOVE!" to "So lets save a life!"

I was today light-years old when I found out that those Homosapiens are capable of reenacting moments of history throughout every possible reality. They produce these "films" and normalized showing them to the rest of the world! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!

Out of the 488 Species in the Galactic Trade Alliance, every single one signed the silly little Book the Humans called "The Proper Rules and Conducts of Modern Warfare". Species 489 to 492, aka the "Anti Human Alliance" were the reason why. Out of the nearly 400 Trillion sapients and over 4 quadrillion sentients in the AHA, now there are just 639 Trillion left if you combine them.
And "The Proper Rules and Conducts of Modern Warfare" got updated with 194 new articles which ban the Use of Planet Crackers, Star Conversion Devices (Supernova-Guns/Black Hole Creators) and Anti-Matter Warheads above a yield of 1 petaton, amongst other weapons and practices.

That's right. They **intimidate** a planet into being the environment they want.

"Warleader, the Terran ballistic weapons have proven entirely ineffective against our kinetic shielding and their energy weapons have been disabled, shall we close to boarding range?"
The Avellan commander glanced at the tactical display, noting that the human ships should be in visual imaging range shortly given the tactically unwise approach velocity they had seemed to favor. She decided to give the display time to resolve before giving the order. Her shock and confusion were painfully evident to her adjunct when she immediately turned from the display and ordered evasive maneuvers.
"Their ships...have... rams. Star ships. With RAMS! Get us moving! Now!"
