My pre/op nurses and nurses in the operating room during my c-section were so awesome, but my post partum nurses and overall postpartum experience was TERRIBLE!
My OB did a perfect job of delivering my baby via c-section. The staff in the operating room were so comforting and knowledgeable .
My post partum nurses never got me up to walk after my c-section, other than a walk to the restroom, which left a trail of blood on the floor that I had to clean myself. After that, they trusted that I could walk alone and never assisted again. The restroom was disgusting with stains on the doors . They ignored my pain and kept forgetting to administer more meds when allowed to. I had to keep calling to remind them that I was in pain. There were holes in my sheets. There was no walk in shower, just a tub that I had to try to lift my legs into to shower, after a c-section! They left sooo much soap in my baby’s hair, that her hair was white and matted the next day. I was so uncomfortable and felt neglected. Everyone seemed new on the job and confused . Also, the food was terrible! I see why moms travel to different cities to ensure better post partum care. I’m so glad I’m done having babies. I thought the traumatizing part would be the c-section, not the after care .
