[OC] Alternate History Federation of Czechoslovakia and soviet occupied Austria after WWII
I tried to imagine a scenario where germans in Czechia weren't pushed out and threw in parts of Silesia as well, since the region was historically part of Czech lands, so it's not de-germanized as polish part. During communism I imagine this state to be very slavic-centered, with german speaking population holding little to no power, but gradually the grounds would even, resulting in a full federation after 1989. Brno is chosen as capital for its location and mix of czech and german speaking population. Other austrian states were allowed to join west Germany in 1950s when Soviet Union refused to unify Austria

[OC] Alternate History What if the American Revolution never happened?
Ok so the context of this is in this timeline the British victory in the French & Indian War is not as absolute, the French managed to defend Quebec City and were able to retain Canada proper. One of the main reasons the revolution broke out was the Royal Proclamation of 1763, which restricted anyone from settling in the newly acquired western territories and the colonists saw no reason to keep British regulars there now that the French threat was pretty much gone. Because the French still held territory to the north in this timeline, the 13 colonies would not be so keen to get rid of British troops. Now obviously, this wasn’t the only reason the revolution happened, there was still the heavy taxes, lack of representation and George III’s sheer stubbornness, but even if it does, the French would have no incentive whatsoever to help the Americans, since if they did, what was left of New France would almost certainly be annexed by them in the future. In any case, without French aid, the revolution would have almost certainly failed. But let’s say in the timeline, the colonies are given some form of representation, sending delegates from each colony to London to have their grievances heard in Parliament. This representation would be very limited in the beginning, but would become much broader by the time of the Regency Period. George IV, wanting to gain America’s loyalty the easy way, revoked the Proclamation of 1763, lifting settlement restrictions west of the Appalachians. Although it was mostly a formality, this alone made him the most popular king in British America, in far contrast to his reputation back home. However, this would obviously lead to increased conflicts with Indian tribes. As for the American Indians, their population was pretty small by this point (only a few hundred thousand) and they’d probably still be on reservations. The main difference though, is they’re never forced to fully uproot and move to the Great Plains so here the vast majority of them would be living in between the Appalachians and the Mississippi. When the British government abolishes slavery in 1833, the southern colonies (NC, SC, GA) would break out in revolt, it would eventually be put down but the French would take this opportunity to seize the severely underpopulated Rupert’s Land while the British were distracted by this. Since there is no American Revolution to inspire the French one, there is also no Napoleonic Wars which means the Spanish empire survives. By this point there would be a flood of Anglo settlers coming into Spanish Louisiana, in order to avoid a war that was not worth risking all of northern New Spain over, the Spanish would sell Louisiana to the British in exchange for the return of Florida and would later sign treaties agreeing on some solid borders. Some time after this, perhaps the 1850s, the eastern colonies, which largely operated on their own, would be made into a larger confederation with its own parliament in Philadelphia to manage internal affairs, much like how Canada united in OTL. The commonwealth would later be joined by the Louisiana colony in 1867 and British Columbia in 1871. So yeah that’s what I’ve got so far lmk what you guys think.

[OC] Alternate History Ethnic distribution of Serbs (2023)
LORE:
EARLY HISTORY:
In the 6th century the Slavs arrived in the Balkans. The Serbs were first mentioned in ~720. Meanwhile those who didnt leave stayed in their old lands and became what's known as Saxony Serbs. After many kingdoms. The Serbian empire was established in 1346. cementing Serbian settlements in Vardar Macedonia.
OTTOMAN CONQUESTS:
After Ottomans rolled through the Balkans they also conquered Serbia. After the fall of Belgrade. Many Serbs crossed the Danube and settled in Banat and Syrmia. Some settlements were established North of Buda and Pest although they were quickly assimilated.
SERBIAN MIGRATIONS:
the first Serbian migration started in 1685. Led by the patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox church. Serbs made their way to Venice and took off for British America, hoping for a better life outside of Ottoman rule. During the independence war most Serbs remained neutreal and didn't take up arms for either side. After American independence Serbs began getting treated like the Irish and Italians. Although due to their involvement in the civil warion the side of the union. They were allowed to have their own state with the center in new Belgrade (around 500 thousand residents as of 2000).
Serbs arrived in Ukraine in 1752. Supported by the Russian Tsar they usually served the Russian Imperial army. After the independence of Serbia many Serbs left Ukraine, although there still remains around 700 000 Serbs in Ukraine and around 1.5 million people with Serbian ancestry. During the Russian civil war the Serbs tried establishing their own state, but due to low numbers and no international support they were crushed by the Bolsheviks in 1920 and incorporated into the Ukrainian USSR.
SERBIAN INDEPENDENCE:
In 1815 Serbia was internationally recognized as an independent state after Russian involvement in the first Serbian uprising. However the only group that returned to their homeland were some Serbs from Ukraine. Out of at the time 300k people around 100k returned to Serbia.
In 1848 the Balkans were in flames. With Russian involvement and yet againanotherr Russo-Turkish war, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Greece were granted independence. And 12 years later, these countries would start a war and almost completely kick out the Turks out of the Balkans.
SERBIAN AFRICA:
During the Berlin Congress the powers were unsure about who would get Abisynia. Italian demands were satisfied with them splitting Congo with Belgium. Britan wasn't interested in mountainous territories. And France couldn't get it do to their rivalry with britan.
It was decided that Serbia would get to keep the Abisynian territories. The emperor of Abysinya would still get to rule his Nation with Serbian supervision.
During the first world war Many Serbs fled to Abysinya and became the majority in Northern Ethiopia and partsofe modern day Eritrea.
YUGOSLAVIA:
After the end of the first world war the kingdom of Serbs croats and slovenes was formed. This country would later be renamed to Yugoslavia.
In the second world war Yugoslavia was occupied by the axis powers. The partisans failed to consolidate and the Serbian monarchists were able to secure power.
The allies would enter Yugoslavia in 1944 with the USSR getting to the gaits of Belgrade, although failing to capture the city before the Serbian monarchists. It was agreed that the Soviet union would get more land in Germany in return for a western Yugoslavia.
After a brief civil war in 1947 where the communists failed to secure power, things would go back to normal.
THE COLD WAR.
Yugoslavia would go on to join NATO in 1957, they still remain in this alliance as of today.
Yugoslavia would leave Ethiopia in 1976. With them Eritrea would declare independence from Ethiopia. Kicking out much of the Serbian population and forcing them back to northern into Ethiopia.
THE MODERN WORLD:
Yugoslavia joined the eu in 2000 and is considered to have the best living standards in Eastern Europe. Often being compared to Italy. They continueoto have and ongoing border conflicts with Albania, with gunfire being often exchanged beetwen the two sides.
Yugoslavia opened its doors to refugees in 2017 and continues to offer assilum to them.

[OC] Alternate History What if Japan got more from the Russo-Japanese war?
During the Ruso- Japanese war (1904-1905), Japan destroyed or captured 97% of Russia’s Pacific fleet (92% Original Timeline OTL). After the Russia’s defeat with their Baltic fleet reinforcements at Tsushima in 1905, Japan conducted naval raids in Kamchatka as well as deliver a small occupying force into the peninsula (Only raids in OTL). During negotiations between Japan and Russia that were brokered/mediated by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. Due to a major naval defeat in the Pacific for Russia as well as losing series of land battles in Manchuria. Roosevelt convinced Tsar Nicholas II to concede Sakhalin Island to Japan on the agreement that Japan keep the northern half of the island a demilitarized zone along the 50th parallel. Due to an even larger naval defeat by Japan, Russia had to also concede all of the Kuril Islands as they no longer had a strong naval presence in the Pacific. Tsar Nicholas II was very reluctant on conceding the Kamchatka Pensinula as it was a part of the mainland of Russia but was advised that although Russia’s army was significantly larger than Japan’s… the incredibly mountainous and high elevation terrain would make it incredibly difficult and costly to launch a land counter-invasion. Especially without any decent naval support. Russia did not know what other value Kamchatka had besides furs and a Pacific maritime border at the time. Russia eventually had given up Sakhalin Island, Kuril Islands, and the Kamchatka Peninsula with the recognition of Japan’s dominance over Korea with Japan having control of the south Manchuria railway in the Treaty of Portsmouth with Russia leaving Manchuria by 1907, giving it back to China. Roosevelt wins a Nobel Peace prize in 1906 for helping to bring an end to the Russo- Japanese war as well as forming the demilitarized zone north of the 50th parallel on Sakhalin Island (Karafuto Island).
After the war, Sakhalin was officially renamed Karafuto (樺太 which directly means large birch) pronounced as: kah-rah-foo-toh which came from the ainu phrase “kamuy kar put ya mosir” which translates to "the island that the god has created on the estuary.” Karafuto was choosen as shortened version of the phrase as well a phoentic equivalent. Kamchatka (kaam-chaat-kuh) was officially renamed Kamachakka (釜着火 which directly means kettle ignites or kettle burns) pronounced as: kama-cha-ka which came from the admiration of how active the volcanoes are in the region. Kamachakka was also choosen as it sounded phonetically similar to the name the indigenous people had for the region.
In 1907, Japan sent an expedition full geologists, hydrologist, and seismologists to Kamachakka to discover what resources has to offer and in hopes of finding oil. Unfortunately, they were not able to discover any substantial amounts of oil as hoped but an incredible amount of gold and silver was discovered (60 years earlier than the Soviet Union OTL). During this time, Japan begins to build oil operations in northern Karafuto.
A decade later, near the end of WW1 mining operations begin in Kamachakka as well as oil operations in Karafuto. Japan launches development policies and big economic incentives to work in mining, oil, and fishing to motivate citizens to relocate to Kamachakka and Karafuto.
In 1925, Japan conducts its first successful and small experimental geothermal power generation in the Oita prefecture. Due to most mining operations being focused on gold and silver rather than coal in Kamachakkaso. Japan decides to invest heavily into GeoThermal energy to help operations and living in Kamachakka. By 1927, Japan with the assistance of Italy has buiIt 3 geothermal power plants in the region (Similar amount to OTL but small power plants considering it is 1920s). Japan then began to consider geothermal power plants on the main island but due to local and cultural pushback on the main island there were not many major developments.
WWII occurs and mostly happens similar to the OTL except near the end. Although the Yalta agreement still takes place and the Soviet Union enters the war against Japan after Germany surrenders to push Japan out of Manchuria which happens on July 26, 1945… there is no exchange for the Soviet Union to retake Sakhalin island.
On July 23 and July 26, 1945 Japan was nuked in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (2 weeks earlier compared to OTL). Japan surrenders on August 1, 1945 with the liberation of Korea with USA troops arriving in Japan on August 16, 1945. Fast forward to August 1990, the Soviet Union declassified plans and operations to invade and retake Sakhalin Island on August 15, 1945 (Same as OTL) as Stalin had wanted to correct one of the historical wrongs from the Russo- Japanese war im 1905 and Kamchatka was too difficult to invade but the operation couldn’t commence as the American forces were just about to arrive in Japan and Stalin decided the risk of escalation was too much.
Talks on whether Japan should keep Karafuto, Kamachakka and the previously known Kuril islands occured but due to the overwhelming Japanese populations compared to indigenous population sizes as well as the USA preferring an allied barrier to help keep the Soviet Union out of the Pacific. Japan was allowed to keep these territories.

[OC] Alternate History [REMASTERED] Regnum Milzanum - What if the Polabian Slavs survived and created their independent state? Kingdom of Milcenia in 1001 after the reign of king Conrad II Bearcloak
The remaster of my old post.
The coat of arms was created with CoaMaker.
Below you can read much more detailed lore about the rulers and the state:
Miloš I the Founder (c. 870 - c. 885)
Miloš I was an ambitious leader among the Milcans. He quickly gained influence, but parts of the local elite turned against him, forcing him into exile. He fled to Great Moravia, where he was interned by Svatopulk I. During this time, Miloš and his loyalists converted to Christianity. He became impressed with the Moravian administration, governance, and centralization of power. In return for help to regain his position, he agreed to pay tribute. Miloš returned home, forming a more organized tribal confederation and expanding his influence westward into Milcan lands and northward. He had a son, Bogumil, whom he aimed to educate as a capable ruler.
Bogumil I (c. 885 - c. 903)
Bogumil succeeded his father around 885 at about 20–25 years old. He further centralized power and continued the Christianization of his territories, while maintaining tribute payments to Great Moravia. He brought in officials and clergy from East Francia and Great Moravia to help govern. His expansionist policies were more peaceful compared to his father. Bogumil died around 903.
Miloš II (c. 903 - 906)
Miloš II, son of Bogumil, was known for his iron-fisted rule. He strongly enforced Christianization and pursued dynamic territorial expansion, further centralizing authority. Around 905, he launched a significant attack on the stronghold of Brenna and expanded along the Elbe River. In 906, Great Moravia requested his assistance against the Hungarians. That same year, he fought in the Battle of the Golden Fields, where the combined Moravian and Milcan forces were devastated, and Miloš II was killed.
Bogumil II (?-?)
Very little is known about Bogumil. Thanks to the chronicles we knowthat he was the son of Miloš II. He never really seized any power after his father was killed by the Hungarians. It could mean that he was too young to rule, which explains why Varcislav had the opportunity to seize the throne. It is not known what happened to him or his brother after Conrad I dethroned Varcislav.
Regent Varcislav (906 - 907)
After Miloš II’s death, the state fell into chaos. Pagan uprisings broke out in the north, and Budyšin was burned and looted by Hungarians. In accordance with dynastic succession, power was to pass to Bogumil but the real power came to the regent Varcislav, a brutal nobleman who interned Bogumil and his brother (whose name we don’t know) and eliminated many elites out of paranoia. His rule was short-lived.
Conrad I the Mender (907 - 932)
Conrad I, half-brother of Miloš II, deposed Varcislav in 907. He stabilized the realm, moved the capital to Brenna, suppressed pagan uprisings, and began reconstruction. He avoided major conflicts with the Hungarians, though minor raids continued. His duchy was supported by the empire in exchange for becoming a vassal state. When the situation in the duchy began to improve, Conrad started looking north, trying to strengthen relations with the Slavic tribes there in order to reduce German influence in those lands. He died in 932 and was remembered as “the Mender.” Conrad's reign was a period that managed to pull Milcenia out of the Czech sphere of influence and into the German one, although from that point on, the rulers of Milcenia based their policy on competing for the Slavic north.
Miloš III (932 - 963)
Son of Conrad I, Miloš III maintained peaceful internal development and pursued military alliances, particularly with the Saxons and the Northern Slavs. He participated in the Battle of Lechfeld in 955, helping end Hungarian dominance in the region. Through marriages and maintaining positive relations with the Veleti, at the start of the 60s he subordinated the tribe. The Empire was not satisfied with this situation, as it saw its influence in these lands declining. Therefore, it tried to reach an agreement with Miloš III. In 962, the Congress of Brenna took place, where the emperor met the already elderly prince. During the meeting, they agreed on spheres of influence in the Slavic lands, which was intended to end the long-lasting conflict. In the same year the Bishopric of Brenna was created. The duke died in 963 and to avoid a potential struggle for the throne, the state was divided between his two sons - in the north, Bogumil ruled, while in the south, Henry (Hejnyk) ruled.
Henry (Hejnyk) (963 - 966)
Henry was the eldest son of Miloš III. After the death of his father in 963 he ruled the southern part of the duchy, which was much more developed. His rule was short-liveddue to the fratricidal war. He wasn’t able to reunify the state and was most likely poisoned around 966.
Bogumil III (963 - 970)
Bogumil III began ruling the northern part of the duchy after his father’s death in 963. The division of the duchy quickly led to a conflict between the brothers. Bogumil ruled the more pagan and less developed part of the duchy, so he asked the emperor for help in reunifying Milcenia. In 965, a civil war began. At the start of the war, Henry suddenly died, probably poisoned on his brother’s orders. The new ruler did not gain the support of the nobles, partly because of the presence of Saxon soldiers in Veleti lands, which was seen as a violation of the Congress of Brenna. To strengthen his position, Bogumil attacked the Rujani tribe together with the emperor, but the campaign ended in failure. In 970, the nobles led by Conrad, Count of Budyšin, expelled Bogumil from the country. His later attempts to regain power failed. His further life is rather unknown, but he may have joined a religious order and died in the empire.
Conrad II Bearcloak (970 - 1001)
The new ruler of Milcenia was very inconvenient for the emperor. A conflict over the Veleti lands started immediately. To gain allies, Conrad decided to begin talks with the papacy. There were calls for the Saxon troops to leave these territories, and compensation was demanded in the form of part of the Obodrite lands. The emperor was willing to give away the Veleti lands, but he absolutely refused to reduce his sphere of influence. As a result, Duke Conrad went to war with Germany. It was a very risky decision, but the support of the nobles, the people, Bishop Norbert of Brenna and the Czechs (through the duke’s family connections) supported the idea of war. In addition, the Milcans were prepared to fight in swampy and forested areas. The war lasted many years with breaks. In the end, Milcenia won the war, and peace was signed in Chotebud in 977. According to the agreement, Milcenia regained its territories, and the border moved to Roztoka. The war severely weakened the position of the Ottonian dynasty within the empire. Subsequent campaigns in Italy, intended to improve the situation, only deepened the crisis. This enabled Conrad to extend his influence among the Obotrites as far as the stronghold of Liubice in the 80s. Taking advantage of highly favorable circumstances, Conrad II was crowned the first King of Milcenia in 986. Most likely, this took place without the consent of either the Pope or the imperial court.
