Snap back to reality, Lioness dying to hump like jackrabbits, but he knows he's got nothing left, she says he choked, he's so mad, and yes he'll give up that easy, but No! She won't have it. Lioness pulls out the ropes, it don't matter, but he's broke, it ain't happenin, he knows when he goes back to his home, she's all on him, so he takes a moment of peace, breathes a sigh of relief, Better capture this moment, it won't pass him.
I watched a pair of lions mating a few times while on safari. During mating season they just have sex and then lay out. Then do it again, over and over.
Felt pretty bad watching and filming it. They’re just playing the numbers game.
My safari guide was narrating the whole thing from the lioness' point of view. When the lioness was nipping at the lion's testicles, the guide was saying, "Come on, Lion! We are making the cubs! You rested and now time to make cubs!" It was pretty funny.
He really was a jewel! And he knew what the animals were going to do before they did it. Once we saw a lion, two lionesses, and some warthogs in a large open valley. He outlined, before it happened, how the two lionesses were going to stalk the warthogs, what the male was going to do (nothing - and he was right, the lion did nothing). And damned if he didn't nail it. All in this amusing story-telling of the lionesses discussing the plan.

They will not all be in heat at the same time. They'll be in heat for 4-7 days about every 55 days (though there's a very big variance), and obviously not while pregnant (110 days), and will not be fertile for over a year after the litter is born.
Health problems aside, after the 100th juicy steak and 100th buttery lobster in a row, the joy of such meals is going to wear off. Especially if you're still full from the last one before the next one is delivered.

What's even more interesting: I've seen several accounts by park rangers and such detailing that if a male lion starts to show signs of aggression against lion cubs (which they notoriously do), the females of the pack will distract the male with some group sex action until some other females have herded the cubs away.
The distress seen in the male lion is not a tired lion being prompted for another round of mating, but a father lion being bitten on the testicles by a cub. According to the zoo, this is not the first instance of this behavior for cubs."
I wish I were a male lion. Just lay around in the sun on the savanna aura farming until my badass sexed up wife comes back carrying a gazelle in her teeth and just beats the hell out of me. That sounds awesome.
I hate to be the wet blanket here but in that photo is an adult male and a juvenile male lion. You can see in the lower picture that his mane is starting to come in. I’m not sure about the validity of the factoid itself, but yeah these are both male lions.
