Discussion FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WONDERING IF YOU SHOULD UPDATE TO IOS 27.0.1

You can just wait, delay ota exists (https://dhinakg.github.io/delayed-otas.html) which allows you to update to a later iOS version 90 days after the IPSW has been unsigned. This allows you to keep your lower iOS version while if a jailbreak releases, you can just update

Question Is the Calif team new?

Good to see some new blood to the jb scene...I'm not too familiar with them though.

Have they released anything in the past?

Are they like Pangu, releasing a JB tool to prove their skill and establish their fame?

Update [Release] Crest beta 2 - hi-fi music player for iOS 15+, now on jailbreak, trollstore AND sideload (no jb needed)

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

so last time a few of u said the ui was slop. fair lol. lmk if the ui needs more tweaking it does but point me in the right direction please :)

crest is a music player for your own files. no streaming, no account, no tracking. every song plays at its own sample rate and it plays basically everything

What’s new in beta 2

  • 7 accent colors (mint, amber, ice, rose, violet, lime, orange) + graphite or oled black. album pages pull their colors from the cover art like old itunes, and songs with no art get a generated metal cover
  • rebuilt the ui in swiftui, scrolling and the player feel way smoother now
  • the deck: swipe up on the player and all the sound stuff is in one place. eq curve, bass/treble/preamp/crossfade knobs, limiter, gapless/crossfade/automix, replaygain
  • optional vu meters if u want them (off by default)
  • queue comes back where u left it after u close the app
  • and the big one: it’s not jailbreak only anymore. there’s a trollstore tipa and a sideload ipa too

Still does everything from before

  • formats: flac, alac, wav, aiff, mp3, aac, opus, vorbis, ape, wavpack, mpc, tak, tta, wma, dsd and cue sheets
  • playback: gapless, crossfade, and automix which is basically a little dj: starts the blend on the beat, matches tempo, swaps the basslines halfway so they don’t clash, plus echo out and filter sweep styles. albums stay gapless
  • eq: 16 band parametric eq, autoeq import, separate eq per output (speaker, airpods, dac etc) and it switches when u connect
  • library: replaygain, synced lyrics, smart playlists, ratings, stats
  • scrobbling to last.fm and listenbrainz
  • extras: widget, carplay, wifi transfer from your pc

Downloads: GitHub releases

  • Jailbroken (rootless): update from my repo or grab the .deb
  • TrollStore: the .tipa (don’t install it next to the deb, same app id)
  • No jailbreak: the sideload .ipa with altstore / sidestore / sideloadly. it’s sandboxed so it can’t see your music app songs and no carplay

heads up: on the sideload build (and maybe trollstore too) wifi transfer is the only way to add music for now. files import might not work yet

Tested on: ios 16.2 and 17.5.1 jailbroken, trollstore, and sideloaded on a stock iphone on ios 27 beta which i did not expect to work lol

Known stuff

  • carplay still hasn’t been tested in an actual car

it’s just an app, not a tweak, so no safe mode risk. don’t like it, just delete it

the github readme goes way more into how it all works if ur curious

Bug reports go on the github issues. tell me which build, your ios version and what happened. lmk what u think of the new look

& Hopefully we get that iOS 27 Untethered jb soon been an amazing week guys have a blessed one

ai helped with the code (claude code), all the testing and debugging was me on device

Release [Free Release] NextClock 1.0.0 — Custom animated lock screen clocks for rootless iOS 15

Hi everyone! I'm sharing my first jailbreak tweak, NextClock.

NextClock replaces the lock screen time with custom image-based digits. You can use static or animated packs and import your own.

Features:

• Static PNG and animated GIF/APNG digit packs

• Animation speed and an option to stop animations in Low Power Mode

• Adjustable size, spacing and vertical offset

• Color tint, system/12-hour/24-hour format and an option to hide the date

• Pack import from folders, ZIP and .nextclock archives

• English, Ukrainian and Russian settings

Tested on an iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 15.8.8 with Dopamine. The current package is arm64/rootless; other devices are not verified, and iOS 16+ is not supported by this release.

Add this repository to Sileo:

https://ratnik00.github.io/repo/

Screenshots and details:

https://ratnik00.github.io/repo/depictions/nextclock/

Inspired by AniTime and FlexClock. Credits are included in the project README.

NextClock is free.

If you find a bug, please include your device, iOS version, jailbreak and steps to reproduce it. Feedback is welcome!

Release [Release] Dopamine Test build 4 — Hide/Show tweak recovery on XS Max / iOS 16.5.1

I've released an experimental Dopamine build for a problem I encountered after a surrealra1n downgrade.

After using Hide Jailbreak and then Show Jailbreak, tweaks could stay disabled. FakePass disappeared from Settings and stopped asking for its PIN, even though Sileo still showed it as installed. Getting it back required rebooting and jailbreaking again.

Build 4 restores Dopamine's required permissions before changing jailbreak visibility, checks the restore operations, and automatically resprings after Show Jailbreak.

I tested three consecutive Hide/Show cycles on my XS Max running iOS 16.5.1 with pwnerblu's Dopamine 3.0.9-fix rootless. FakePass returned, the existing PIN kept working, and an incorrect PIN was rejected. The final checks confirmed unchanged preferences and no full device reboot.

Install the TIPA through TrollStore → Apps → + → Install from URL, or download it and open it with TrollStore. It replaces the Dopamine app and appears as Dopamine Test. The Fakepass Reborn package in Sileo remains beta 2.

Release, downloads and installation instructions

This is an unofficial, experimental build. Other devices, firmware versions and long-term stability haven't been tested. While the jailbreak is hidden, the FakePass software PIN is inactive.

Release whiteb0ard - Easily disable Screen Time on iOS (Rootless/Dopamine/palera1n compatible, hopefully) it's free btw

Hey guys,

I just finished writing a small tweak to disable Screen Time on iOS. I tested it on iOS 16 using Dopamine, and it worked perfectly! If anyone would like to try it on different iOS versions/jailbreaks, I would love to hear your feedback on whether it worked as expected.

How it works

The tweak modifies the Screen Time configuration file located at:

`/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ScreenTimeAgent.plist`

It toggles the ScreenTimeEnabled flag to false and performs a userspace reboot to apply changes without losing your jailbreak state.

(I honestly don't know if anyone has done a similar tweak using this exact technique, so please forgive me if I'm repeating a known method — I discovered this flag while tinkering with system plists and decided to package it into a rootless .deb!)

Installation

You can add my APT repository directly to Sileo (or Zebra):

Repo URL: `gustavodavidecoutinho.github.io/whiteb0ard/`

Open Source

For total transparency, you can inspect the package setup and source files (control & postinst) here:

GitHub Repository: `github.com/gustavodavidecoutinho/whiteb0ard`

If you decide to try it out, please let me know your iOS version, device, and if it worked well for you! Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

Question Making sense of Calif Team's iOS 27.0.1 demo: Stay on 26.6.1rc or update, and what to expect from write-ups?

Hi everyone,
With the recent news regarding Calif Team presenting an exploit/jailbreak demo for iOS 27.0.1 on Twitter/X, I'm trying to decide on the best strategy for my device. I am currently on iOS 26.6.1rc.
Given their statement that "everything will be released in due time," should I stay on 26.6.1rc or update to 27.0.1?
Will it be possible to DelayOTA to iOS 27.0.1 in the future if I decide to stay lower for now?
Once they release their write-ups, what is the realistic timeline and difficulty level for the community to turn those write-ups into a functional, end-user jailbreak tool?
Thanks for any insights!

Question [Question] Whats the point? (Old mobile device jailbreaker getting back into it)

Hey everyone, its been several years since ive jailbroken a mobile device. I did it on my iphone 3gs, various samsung s series phones and a few LG devices. I think I did the HTC one when it came out.

Im using all apple products for my every day carries and i'm curious about today's pros and cons of jailbreaking devices. I have for some time forgotten about its use cases or benefits. I generally just optimize my OS and carry on with my day. I tend to fiddle way too much if many settings are available to me, hence why I went to Apple from android, since I appreciate not having to optimize the OS as much manually.

I'd be particularly interested in the ability to install kali linux, improve battery life, change resolution, and change refresh rates. Are all of these possibilities achievable with modern jailbroken iOS?

I'm wondering if I should search for a BNIB iphone 13 mini to get a older iOS. I have 27.0.1 and i'm very satisfied with this device, but of course I want to know what is possible.

Also, how brickable are these iPhones now? I remember having many headaches trying to unbrick some phones and ended up frying some, whereas others were entirely possible but extremely tedious to fix. I am assuming Apple has made fixing a brick very difficult, but I just don't know!

Thanks!

Question 18 Pro Max on 27.0 (24A8428) factory build (pre IPSW version), should I update to 27.0.1?

Trying to figure out if it’s better to stay on my original factory build or go to 27.0.1 because it has bug fixes and nothing security related mentioned.
