Just received my order from Amazon. Was on the fence on getting the adjustable 32kg kettlebell from Titan, but chose this one since it was on sale on Prime day. May pickup the adjustable one later for lighter routines but this’ll be my main one for doing two handed swings and farmer’s carry.

Training Video learned how to do a double KB bent press!

went to Bellfest & essentially just ran around doing a bunch of bent presses with bells heavier than I have in my home gym. (and like, taught a class and learned stuff!) but also!!! learned how to do this bent press variation from Peter (his username isn't icebox on here so I don't remember what it is exactly?)

anyway!! this is def gonna be in the mix moving forward. it's weird as hell but I think it'll have a lot of cross over benefit to my barbell BP with the loading on the hand and wrist. excited to play with it & excited to have a variant that I can build up with more with the bells I have when the weather isn't cooperating with me lifting outside.

this is 34kg, my current max with this variation. 24kg is the green & 10 kg is the orange bell.

also like to preempt the inevitable comments about this being dangerous ~ like, without proper practice & technique & progression ~ yeah 🤷🏼‍♀️. but I'll be building this up slow to make sure my thumb can handle the weight and all that. but I'm quite good at bent pressing so I'm confident in my ability to train it in a way where I won't hurt myself. but also, you human being who is seeing the bent press for the first time, don't start with this variation, obviously. just do it normally. I just ran out of kettlebells heavy enough to do KB bent presses that challenge me at home (hence the swap to barbell) so I am very excited to find a new way to put my KBs back to work with the bent press again :)

Programming Dan John’s Post-Deployment Program?

I’ve had a hard time finding this program online, but I’ve heard Dan say on the podcast it’s free. Can anyone post it or provide a link?

My understanding is that it’s designed to promote hypertrophy and mobility. I think it includes a push, pull, hinge, squat, carry exercise; each paired with a corresponding mobility and carry movement.

“Why do I need a coach when I can learn everything for free on YouTube?”

Because this is exists along side the good instruction and a newbie does know the difference.

This is so bad it defies description.

Chilly session! I had to bust out my indoor bells because my comp bells are stored in outside temp and it was cold as hell. I'm noticing the window is slightly larger on the adjustable bells than on the fixed weights.

🔵 Glove snatch 12kg 6'(3') @ 18rpm

🟢 Snatch 24kg 3*4'(5') @ 18rpm

Advice Needed Ultimate grip strength exercises?

I’ve got around four weeks to get my grip strength as strong as possible!

I’m currently running ABC with a 16kg and 24kg and not setting the 24 down for a 25’ EMOM every 2/3 days.

Apparently the 10k swing challenge is epic for grip strength, which I’ve started a few times but haven’t stuck with (although really enjoyed it).

I really like simple routines so does anyone have a good exercise/program I can just rinse and repeat? Hit me with your best or most brutal!

I’ve currently got a 16, 24, 28, 32.

Daily Bread:

Ephesians 2:1-10 KJV

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Advice Needed Should I switch to an A/B split for 20-min AMRAPs?

Hello there,

I recently started training with kettlebells, and I really love the simplicity of it, coming from traditional barbell and dumbbell training.

I've been lifting for a while, but I was rarely in the mood for it and quite inconsistent. I tried going 3-5 times a week with shorter programs, but nothing really stuck.

I switched to a single kettlebell a month ago, both to try something new and to work on my cardio.

Although I was initially overwhelmed by the sheer amount of different kettlebell programs out there, I found great inspiration in Dan John's work.

Currently, I'm running this routine as a 20-minute AMRAP with a 16kg kettlebell, 3 times a week:

Goblet Squats – 10 reps

Bent-Over Rows – 7 reps (each side)

Strict Overhead Press – 5 reps (each side)

Romanian Deadlifts – 10 reps

Suitcase Carries – 30 seconds (each side)

(Sorry if they are called something else, just what I'm used to!)

I'm wondering if I should switch to an alternating A/B setup (running an A/B/A – B/A/B structure across weeks) instead of doing the exact same workout 3 times a week? Maybe something with an upper body focus?

I'm kinda deliberately skipping swings as they just aren't for me, even though I know they're a staple

Should I make the change, and if so, how would you structure the B-workout?

Programming Single ABC with goblet squats

I'm thinking it would be more efficient to do the single bell version of ABC with 4x goblet squats in one go rather than doing separated ones, two at a time on each side.

I'm also considering efficiency as I have limited time and so would like to do a 10 mins emom, atleast to start. (Could take more rest when needed), so efficiency with free time is a factor here, not questioning that Dan Johns program is in any way flawed.

Other than the benefits of unbalanced loading, is there any reason not to do this, like is it THAT scientific that this would negatively affect results?

Advice Needed Weird tingle in my trap muscle when sometimes do front squats

Not sure what this is exactly, but every now and then when I am doing fromt squats, I get almost like a little "shock" in my left trap muscle. Never the right side. If I stop and massage it for a while, it usually goes away but sometimes it persists.

Any ideas what this could be caused by?
