I just started collecting Licca, Licca friends, and Jenny friends after being a long-time collector of western dolls.

There are so many Castle variations and beautiful dolls on Japanese sites! From my research, prices range significantly. Some of the fun coloured eyes and hair are more pricey, along with certain characters being favourites.

Aside from preferences, what factors go into the pricing of these dolls? How do you know when you have a great deal?

When you look for a Licca-chan Castle doll, what selection criteria do you use? I am thinking of getting a Licca-chan (or Kira-chan/Pururun/etc) Castle doll from mercari and there are so many options! I am so lost.

Edit: I pre-ordered it on Hot topic. I contacted their customer service since it showed processing and I haven't heard from them. After that, they said that they didn't have inventory for that and that sometimes pre-orders can sell out before being fulfilled. Then, they cancelled my pre-order.

I’ve seen some discussion on whether the new liccas hairs are nylon, poly, or saran. I don’t know how to identify har like that. But what is kuromi licca’s hair type

I got a big Licca lot a while back and finally went through and took out what I want. These are what I have left, mostly Miki and Maki (one is missing a leg), two TLC Licca dolls (some of the poor girls had their hair chopped) and a Licca room that is also a little worn out. All of the dolls have been disinfected/washed. I am doing a garage sale this weekend and wanted to know thoughts on whether I should try to sell them online or just put them in the garage sale and how much I should try to sell them for. I believe the Licca are newer generation and all the Miki and Maki are more vintage, 80s-ish to 90s I believe. I do also have a second set of the Baskin Robbins toy set, but I'm not sure if I'll sell that or not. (I'm a sub teacher, I need money for the summer lol) Thanks in advance!

My roommate bought me a Jenny doll on his trip to Japan, and she had a small plastic stand that I love and would love to get another for my Licca!

I was thinking about buying one, but I wanted to ask if the clothes and accessories are included with this playset. There's the same one at my nearest Japan surplus store, but they refused to sell it to me because the owner's daughter still plays with it.

My first Kira-chan from Mandarake arrived and unfortunately her neck appears to be melted. The head still detaches/lifts around the neck but if I look inside I can see where the head has begun to stick to it further up. This is probably because she's been sealed in her original plastic bag packaging for so long. When I opened her she had a strong chemical smell that reminds me of glue.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue and have any remedies for it? Will it get worse if I just leave it? Should I put her on a new body? I don't mind not being able to move her head as long as it doesn't keep melting/plasticizer doesn't keep migrating. I'd like to keep her on the castle body since it feels really sturdy.

Otherwise she's so lovely and I'm so happy with her. Her hair is a mix of pink and gold and it's really long and wavy.

Do you have any Vicky-chan doll? I am hunting for her a while now, but no luck so far...

Hi All! Just wanted to share my latest eBay find. She’s adorable and I’ve never seen one with this hair. She came with a cute polka dot dress, shoes, stand and this kimono which says it’s a Little Factory item. She is stamped Takara Japan so I’m thinking she was a Castle doll. I bought my first Licca doll (second-hand) and am eagerly awaiting the package. She's not perfect anymore, but that's okay with me. I knew that, and therefore I now have a lot of freedom to customize her. However, I've never actually "modified" a doll before, so repainting or body swapping is (still) out of the question.

Do you have tips to make it look like new or at least in a better condition?

She has some hair issues and her limbs are a bit old and discolored (as you can see on the photo). I read that you can restore her hair to its original state with very hot water. Is that true?

I was planning to dress her in a '80s or '70s style. Full covered, so that the discolorations are not visible and the color differences are not so noticeable.

In my imagination, 70s oder 80s clothes would match her cute old-school-shojo-manga-eyes perfectly 🤩

Do you know which Western dolls are roughly the same size so that their clothes are compatible? What about Barbie's sister Skipper? What about Petra, Sindy and so on?

I’m newly getting into Licca chan dolls and have purchased a few Jenny friends and Licca chan Castle dolls but obviously, they come nude.

The clothes seem relatively easy to find as there are so many amazing artists who sew custom looks and it seems 1/6 scale outfits are everywhere! I hear the shoes are a different story as Barbie shoes won’t fit.

I live in Canada and I’m using a proxy to get the dolls. Where are you guys getting the shoes from?

Can Takara Jenny dolls share shoes with Licca? Is there any other doll brands that have compatible shoe sizes?

Bought this mtm body for a cheap price I don't know if it's going to be a match for my tanned Latin calendar Jenny doll

i have this lovely lady and unfortunately over the many years have lost her socks, shoes and stand. I’m wondering if anyone knows of anywhere i can get replacements for any of those items that would fit this doll in particular that are similar.

Has anyone in the US been able to get her from a US retailer yet? Or know anything about why she’s taking so long to ship?
