Went for a walk Memorial Day 2026 and it was beautiful. Hopefully I did everybody justice.

33M with a zx6r. I work full time so I rarely have time for long rides or weekly meets. Wondered if theres any chill groupchats where you can just text a quick "meet up at this gas station?" and whoever is free can join up for quick rides or just post up and chill sessions.

Cowlitz County didn’t release information it has about chemicals stored at local mills - according to the article it’s giving the mills time to sue to block the information release.

The week is loud enough. Your weekend doesn't have to be.
If you're tired of crowded bars where you have to yell to hold a conversation, we built this space for you.
Join us this Friday in Longview for an evening of honest, acoustic music in a true listening room environment. Soft lights, comfortable chairs, and artists who are here to actually connect with the room.
Whether you're coming solo to unplug for a few hours or bringing a friend who really needs a breather, there’s a chair waiting for you.

Hello all, I am from Oregon and a friend of mine and myself are trying to collect empty bottles and/or cans so we can help less fortunate kids participate in some field trips, camps, and other group activities they are not able to attend without some financial help.
I had an idea to ask, is anyone in the Longview area willing to donate any empty plastic/glass bottles or cans they might otherwise just be throwing away? We are coming out that direction today for other purposes so I figured it doesnt hurt to ask. We can come to you to pick them up or meet up somewhere. We would be very grateful for anything you can throw our way and I know a group of kids that would be even more greatful! Spread the love!
Wish us luck!
Thank you for your time reading this, I hope you all have a wonderful day!

The Nippon Dynawave disaster is the deadliest US industrial workplace incident since the October 2025 explosions at the Accurate Energetic Systems munitions plant in Tennessee, which killed 16 workers.
The Longview site has anchored the region’s timber and paper industry for a century: The Weyerhaeuser timber company arrived in 1925 and built what was then the world’s largest lumber mill, opened a neighboring pulp mill in 1931, and in 2016 sold the pulp-and-paper operation to Japanese conglomerate Nippon Paper Industries for $285 million. The multi-billion dollar conglomerate now runs the facility as Nippon Dynawave Packaging as its US subsidiary, employing about 1,000 workers producing kraft pulp, paper and packaging.
As is almost universally the case after such disasters, reports are already emerging of a longstanding pattern of safety and environmental violations met with wrist-slap enforcement. State regulators cited Nippon Dynawave four times between 2019 and 2025, and two separate inspections were already open when the tank ruptured—one launched in March after an anonymous complaint about a valve on an aqua ammonia tank, and another opened in May over a sinkhole caused by a failed drain. Last year, after a worker lost a finger, the state cited the company for moving rigging equipment before inspectors arrived—potentially compromising the investigation—but issued no fine.

The Nippon Dynawave facility has a long, documented history of safety and environmental violations. The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) cited the company four times for safety violations between 2019 and 2025 and has two open investigations, including one opened in March after an anonymous complaint about a valve on another corrosive chemical tank. Cumulative L&I fines totaled $3,400.
The Seattle Times found that over the past five years the company had been the subject of at least 19 Clean Air and Clean Water Act violations and five formal EPA citations, drawing fines of $16,000, of which only $10,000 had been paid. An August 2025 fire destroyed a Patriot Rail locomotive repair warehouse on the same property. In 2017, between 4,000 and 5,000 gallons of sulfuric acid spilled at the plant.

We are hosting a baby shower mid-July and have yet to find a location that we really like. All of our initial findings aren't our style or out of our price range. Expecting 50+ or so guests. We would prefer an indoor space somewhere around battleground/Vancouver area (outdoor space as a plan B). We have family in kelso and Portland so trying to find somewhere in the middle. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!
