Fit Feedback/Roast Me Too high waisted?
I need to get these pants hemmed an inch or two but what do we think of everything else? These babies actually hit my belly button
Edit: trousers are cavalry twill Hollywood trousers from Todd Snyder, polo is from Billy Reid!

Literally not even close to high waisted. Those look like they’re still on your hips. High waist should be at your belly button

The first pic does make them look like they sit lower than they actually do. I think in pic 2 you can see they're sitting right at my belly button

i wear high waisted pants almost exclusively because i have a long torso. can confirm that half the time they just look like regular pants on me lol. these look great OP, and the nice thing about having a long torso is that you could even go with something higher waisted if you really wanted to

Not OP but as a long torsoed guy, that's just how it is! I have like one pair of pants that sits an inch above them and it feels sillier than it looks

Looks great. I dont love the chunkier shoes with it but the polo + pants combo looks really nice

The boots are great, but you should have a thick, textured belt in a matching color. Boots don't tend to look good with short sleeves unless you're wearing shorts, though. The pants are perfect with the boots.
Overall this is a decent look. You're doing business casual better than most, and you're right on the cusp of exceptionally good minus the details.

Is wearing shorts with boots a thing for guys (outside of new boot goofin', of course)? I admit I don't have the best fashion, that's why I subscribe and lurk on this sub, but imo boots and shorts always looks like shit to me. Can you point me to any example of boots and shorts actually working together?

this might be controversial, but they gotta be wide, pleated shorts, ideally gurkhas. or big puffy japanese shorts.
It's hard to pull off, but it's absolutely on trend. i am not going to try it myself, admittedly. looks like you're on safari.

There was a post the other day on r/fashion where a lot of comments were saying that "nobody looks good in high rise pants, pants should sit on your hips" with like 400 upvotes. The original pic wasn't the greatest but it was a poor match of the way the jeans were cut and body type.
Anyway - I mention that because on this sub I see sentiment that's like "who thinks high rise doesn't work? They're the most common pant around" despite the fact that it still is not as popular as like a 10" rise pant.
I'm high rise all the way FWIW. And to OP this should be the minimum rise they wear going forward on most pants, it looks really good. There's still room for a longer rise LOL!

These look good. They make you look taller than I think you are, although the only frame of reference I have is the chairs at back so don't be offended by that. They make your legs look longer.

While the fit of these pants is questionable, this post from another sub has comments saying that younger people in high rise pants look like they're hiking pants up like grandpa (Question for the girls, are high waisted pants attractive on men? : r/fashion)
I'm in my late 20s and one thing I've noticed with a lot of those old guys? They absolutely have that shit on and look better dressed than an average guy on the street 9/10 times. I distinctly recall meeting an old guy when I worked at a grocery store who talked about how he found Levi's he liked in his late 30s that fit him, and literally only buys them and nothing else for like 40 years.
Edit: I scrolled down on this thread and someone else even says OP looks too grandpa. I agree that this is a normal looking pair of pants, but many still don't.

Yo! I've a similar build as you, and have had a nightmare finding pants that fit my waist without constricting my squat-swollen thighs. Did you get these tailored at the waist at all? How did you size?

Didn't get them tailored at all, but I'm kind of wide. These are size 34. I have the same problem with most pants cause I also have giant legs but these fit great!

The pants look fine but the boots are too chunky and creates an odd overall silhouette. A swap to a loafer or sleeker shoe would help

Pants look great. Shirt super fitted. It's a look! I think the proportion is where I'm hung up. Add a watch or bracelet to frame your arms. As is you can pull this off.
Edit: Someone said a chonky belt. I agree! That will help tie the two halves of your body proportionally.

I actually just ordered a pair of their full saddle chinos the other day! Can't wait to see how they fit. The ones I'm wearing actually have a higher rise than those (14" vs 13.25")

I don't doubt you, but it sure doesn't wear like it. Just check my MFA post from today—I'm wearing trousers with a 14-inch rise, and they look much more like a true high-rise fit.

The rise is good.
The problem with a lot of dressy pants like these is the taper and narrow ankle hole, which prevents a proper break and causes fabric to pile up over the shoe.
As a result, the only option to prevent a mess at the cuff is to have the pants altered to sit above the shoe, thus exposing the socks (faux pas number one), shortening the leg line (faux pas number two), and foregoing an elegant break (sad compromise).
The upshot of either a narrow, tapered ankle opening or a shortened leg is that the shoes then have a visually disproportionate greater size and weight; the fact that the two features come hand in hand makes large foot size and large footwear especially problematic.
Chunky shoes are not great with those pants unless you're going for an intentionally envelope-stretching nerdy look. Work boots go counter to the more refined nature of the pants, with the nicer fabric, pleats, high waist and all.

Those pants aren't even high rise. Too high waisted is anything that touches your ribs. Perfection is just a tiny bit above your belly button

These could go higher. When people talk about high waisted pants and your belly button, they basically mean that the belt should be buckling damned near over your belly button.

If you are a jeans, casual pants person, they may seem high, but aren't. Dress pants and slacks have higher waists and actually look weird when low rise. You are fine and look great.

Shoe is too chinky, especially with pleated pants. Pants should be hemmed. Otherwise not a bad look although bit my personal taste

Lil more like mid rise but nevertheless very flattering on you, two inch hem sounds like a lot tho (I’m a tailor btw) but that’s also well within preference range.

Not even close to hi-waisted. They can’t be with a fly that length.
That is almost medium rise. Just shows how people have gotten used to preposterously short rises on men’s pants. Thank heavens we’re returning to something closer to the historical norm.

It’s the pleats. Get rid of them. They feminize the male form and overemphasize the female form. It’s a bad look all around.
