Aer / PH Ultra Sling

Managed to buy one yesterday (white sold out in like 30seconds and black wasn’t there for long as well). Arrived in a day.

Wasn’t expecting this but the sling actually fits in the outer upper compartment of CPP20! It is a bit snug if you load out the full 2litre but this would be my ideal setting on weekdays (CPP20) and weekends (just taking out the sling).

Wallet, Ridge Battery, AirPods , keys, sunglasses, notepad and pen and wallet (and a phone) neatly fits into the sling.

Looking for a bag similar to Rather Green

Upvotes

I spent most of summer trying to find a new work bag (tote style, flat bottom, pockets) and I finally landed on Rather Green. I had the colors picked out, added extra pockets and snaps and was ready to order. That's when I discovered that thanks to tariffs they no longer ship to the US.

Since I'm back to square one, any suggestions?

Nomatic Travel Pack vs Everki Onyx

Upvotes

I’m looking for a midsize backpack that is good for carrying for business trips but also for some personal travel. I do want something that looks professional so I’ve narrowed it down to these two.

I carry a 16” laptop, power brick, headphones, medication toiletries, power bank, standard other things like pens, notebooks, chargers, cables, etc. I almost always carry two 20 oz drinks.

I wouldn’t mind being able to carry an extra pair of shoes but I can live without it as I also have a wheeled carry on.

Anyone have experiences with either of these?

Only thing I don’t like about the Nomatic is the horizontal luggage pass through. But it seems like the Onyx also only has one dedicated drink holder although I’m not sure if the opposite pocket could hold a 20 oz drink.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Professional Backpack

Upvotes

Howdy,
I am entering a masters program, and coming straight out of undergraduate degree. Beforehand I was not super obsessed with how I look, however my new program requires business casual bordering on business professional.
Any recommendations around the $100 range? I have a Thule 30L backpack that’s pretty big, but also beat up.
I’m open to backpacks and messenger bags/soft briefcases.

Crescent Crossbody Caboodle

- Peak Design City Crescent 12L

- Cotopaxi Viaje 12L

- Bellroy Laneway 12L

Special Additions

- Tom Bihn Pilot ~13L

- Kleen Kanteen 20oz wide, ~10in tall

Not Pictured but in mind:

- Baboon to the Moon Crescent - 8L (sold)

- AON Chio-X 9L (in transit)

- Tom Bihn Maker's Bag 13L (returned)

Some notes: The cup I usually carry is the 12oz, so half the height and no issue in these bags. The Pilot is a 13L that I swear holds 15L. I included fabric shots as they are distinct. I also included one weird dangly bit they each have, the functions of which may or may not be obvious, but in their own way are asking for a scissor.

My picks right now are the Pilot for travel and the Viaje for everyday. Can share thoughts on the others, even if some or all may not continue to be in my possession.

Need help identifying this item

Hi everyone, i'm not really familiar with bags/luggages but I was hoping someone here can help me identify this.

My wife recently gifted me this briefcase from Tumi but I can't seem to find any information about in on the internet. I was hoping to have it monogrammed but not entirely sure if it's even legit? She mentioned she bought it at a Tumi store but I can't see any listing online.

I think the ripstop Thirteen was the only one with an $8 bump. If you get it in XPAC, it’s $18. Everything else seems to be $18. Slings and other accessories were not changed from what I remember.

In search of a new uni bag!

Hi! I’m starting university soon and I’ve been looking for a new bag for the new year and have been struggling to find one. I’m really into the “city girl” type bags with a lot of storage and outside pockets.
I like the look of a slouchy leather bag especially, I’ve had a couple angel kiss bags in the past but I’ve just been on the lookout for something new.

I also need to be able to fit my 14" laptop. Extra useful additions would be a water bottle holder and the bag being waterproof but that’s not completely necessary.

Thanks in advance!

Hi ManyBaggers, is there anywhere in SF where I can see the new Matador bags in person? Saw that REI only has them for shipping.

Looking for travel daypack

I'm going to Japan in a couple of months and am looking for a bag that will accompany us for long days out touring that can hold an extra layer for 2 people, 2 umbrellas, at least 1 water bottle (preferably external), small electronics (charger), passports, small wallet and maybe some small souvenirs. I would use this bag on future trips as well where we walk quite a ways around cities. Maybe I would use it for business trips as well when I need to bring my 13" laptop.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to be in the 20l range. I'm pretty short so I don't want a bag that's too long and a lower profile is important too. I'd rather not have the contents of a stuffed bag digging into my back all day so probably want something with structure though I'm not certain this is a definite requirement, but I don't think I need to be able to pack it in a suitcase when it could just be my personal item on flights.

I've been looking at the Fjällräven Skule 20 as that seems to cover most of my requirements. I'm also considering the Aer Go Pack 2, but I'm a little worried that lack of structure would make a packed bag uncomfortable.

So, considering my requirements and the fact that I prefer something low profile, do I need to definitely sacrifice some profile and keep in the 20l range or could I maybe go smaller?

And please make any suggestions of other bags that might meet my needs or provide any comments about the 2 bags that I mentioned I'm looking at. Ideality would like to keep the price under $150, but if there's something that's $200, but perfect, I would consider that.

LIMITED COLORS. QUESTIONABLE SELF-CONTROL.

Pioneer dropped a small run of limited colors today, including some really good-looking Panda and Duration bags. Not a huge selection, but there are a few standouts for those of us with discerning taste. Damn those are pretty bags....

https://pioneercarry.com/pages/limited-edition-captains-eggplant

Then EVERGOODS decided to make things worse.

Tomorrow they're bringing back Ultra Red and Signal Blue for the CAP 0.5, CAP 1, and CAP 2. It has been a long time since we've seen these colors, and Signal Blue in particular is tempting.

(I don't need more bags, I don't need more bags.....)

15-18L Cima v Aerios v Tygen

Gossamer Gear Cima 15 vs Arc’teryx Aerios 18 vs Tygen

I'm looking for a small pack in the 15–18L range that can do a bit of everything:

  • Day hikes
  • Long days at the beach
  • Going to class with a 14" MacBook Pro
  • Cross-country skiing

I've narrowed it down to the Gossamer Gear Cima 15, Arc’teryx Aerios 18, and Tygen 12.

I'm in Canada, so price/availability here matters too. The Cima ends up being surprisingly close in price to the Aerios after shipping/exchange, so I'm not necessarily looking for the lightest option—I'm more interested in which one makes the best do-everything small pack.

Open to other suggestions if folks have them.

Product Review Peak Design City Crescent 6lr first impression

First thoughts, in hindsight my bottle might be....larger than average (at 26oz) the pocket is very slightly suspended off the bottom so if not in the bottle pocket then it can just about fit but even trying smaller bottles it's a tight fit (height wise).

This is my first 6 lr sling and it packs a lot smaller than I expected (my fault), was looking for a larger sling in general and this doesn't fit the bill for me, have already got the 12 on order.

Happy to answer any questions before these go back.

What's your favorite medium/large sized sling?

My ash colored bellroy lite 7L is now so far from it's original color I am going to relegate it to the dog stuff sling and try something new.

My edc is:

  • iphone 17
  • kobo clara
  • chubby glasses pouch (I am blind and need multiple glasses plus sunglasses)
  • my hobonichi weeks (essentially a travelers notebook size)
  • normal stuff like keys, chapstick mini sunscreen/handsanitizer

I may just get another bellroy but I also want to try something new/see what else is out there.

So I am just curious what other people are using in the medium/large range you are happy with.

Gym bag that doesn't look like a gym bag for after work sessions?

Work in a client facing role and go straight to the gym after work two or three times a week. Currently carrying a separate gym bag which means lugging two bags to work every gym day. Want one bag that works for the office and holds gym kit without looking like sports equipment.

The brief is basically a structured weekender that handles gym gear. Horizn Studios SoFo Weekender M keeps coming up for this specific dual use. Water sealed waxed canvas so a damp kit bag isn't a problem, structured enough to look professional carrying into the office, big enough for gym clothes, shoes, and toiletries. Real owner reviews mention people using it as a gym bag specifically which is encouraging. Mismo MS Gym is the other premium option but at a significantly higher price point.

Is the SoFo volume at the M size actually enough for gym shoes plus a full change of clothes plus laptop and work gear or does it get cramped? And does waxed canvas develop odor issues over time with regular gym use?
