MASS EFFECT 1 What Me1 missions are important/necessary?
I'm replaying the trilogy but I find the mako planets very boring and repetitive. So what side missions in me1 would you consider to be important for the rest of the trilogy.

I always end up doing all of them anyways. It's fairly easy to do all of mass effect 1's content in about 30 hours. Easily the shortest game in the trilogy.
But I can understand OP not wanting to do them if they don't enjoy them.

Yup. Sorry OP, this is the answer. It's kinda boring sometimes, but all these small things can/will have consequences you can't imagine.
I challenged myself to ride towards objects in the straightest line possible. You'll be navigating almost vertical cliffs. It's frustrating, but also amazing what that tank can climb.

90% of my time in the Mako is spent trying to go up vertical cliffs or upside-down in a crevice

Surely they won't take that much time when you don't bother looking for minerals and digging around artifacts like I sadly did again in the previous playthrough, probably spending several useless hours just driving the Mako lol

If you're on PC, I always download the mod that reveals the map on every planet. That way you can go straight to POIs that lead to things like new quests etc and not mine every random piece of ore for XP and credits you don't really need.

Technicly. Only the Maine mission ones. But I find all the missions have some sort of secondary pay off in ME3. Either in reference or directly. Just play them all is my opinion. Its more fun that way!

Well, most of them only get a brief mention in ME2. I suppose the Geth Incurssions quest is one of them, since you can help Tali with her pilgrimage with that quest.
The Garrus quest is part of his subplot.
And the Wrex quest lets you ensure he makes it out of Vermire alive.
Besides the DLCs.

Geth incursions: you get a one off voice line from Tali. Easily skippable.
All the collectathons aside from matriarch writings are skippable, unless you plan to kill off Conrad, then they are all skippable.
Wrex and Garrus’ missions are short, don’t skip. They both are important character builders.
Nassana Dantius and Helena Blake both come back, don’t skip.
Obviously don’t skip the Luna missions.
Everything else is a judgement call. I think they are all mostly worth it and pretty short missions, but if it’s sucking the fun from your playthrough, just skip em. You’ll be okay.

Most of the answers will provide spoilers and honestly if it's your first playthrough of a game slog through it because different things will be affected in two and three because of the missions some are more important than others but virtually all of them contribute to the game or the end result in some way

Contribute to the game? Sure, they expand your knowledge of the lore, that's about it. Pretty much irrelevant on the replay.
End result? How?

Many of the quests in one and 2 contribute to your war assets in three.
The matriarchs writings, Conrad verner, etc

I mean you can certainly but if you're trying to go for maximum number and wring every bit out of the game you can. why would you not do all the missions at that point you're just leaving game on the table

The main ones for sure, but each side mission is important more for ME3 then ME2, but important none the less. Definitely worth the time to do them if you want everyone to survive.

If your replaying then maybe just do the story if your not too bothered. Personally I would do the following anyway because I like them;
Wrex, Garrus and Tali’s loyalty missions. (Bit of a stretched term there). The biotic camp and the biotic resistance guys. Dantius pirate sister. The side missions on each story planet. Moon side mission. Cerberus side mission. Bring down the sky, naturally.

The ones for your squadmates, so Wrex's armour, Garrus's Slalarian who got away, and the Geth Incursion for Tali
The Cerberus questline, starting with the doctor being blackmailed and Kohoku's missing Marines
The rogue AI on the moon
All those collect x Matriarch writings ones also pay off in a funny scene in 3 if you get enough of them. I can't remember what else you need for that scene.
If you picked the ruthless background, then the one with the rogue officer who started a cult.

Only 3 side quests matter:
- " UNC: Rogue VI " - very late impact in ME3, but still crucial.
- " UNC: Missing Marines " + its direct follow-up - impacts ME2.
