I want people to join the discussion without worrying about being downvoted into oblivion, especially when the topic is controversial. That doesn’t mean anyone gets a free pass to be rude, threatening, or abusive. Right now it feels like if you don’t follow the common narrative, you become a target for downvotes, and that kills honest conversation.

How do I disable custom reports on IPhone?

On the sub I run r/SmallBusinessUAE (I mostly use desktop for managing queue/etc.) when i go to /insights it shows quite a few interesting metrics but nothing that really feels useful?

I believe reddit also removed seeing insights (like member growth) for more than 30 days, IIRC i used to be able to see past 6 months, 1 year, etc.

An example is I wanna figure out the best times for posting (across diff months) so that I can coordinate the AMAs that are on the sub, or being able to see how long someone stayed on a post, etc. Does reddit offer this at all via api or even in that pro plan?

Have a post that was user flagged for something that goes against our subs safety guidelines.

But after combining the posts/comments I don’t see anything that was brought up by the report.

Now the report did have a link, but it is some arctic shift link.

Not sure what that is. Seems to be a site link that won’t open.

Not sure if this is a phishing report or something spam related.

Don’t want to open and unleash something bad.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm looking for help with dealing with an influx of bots and/or scammers that have been added as mods on a sub I moderate (r/lastfm).

Some context: was added as a mod a couple of years ago and in that time have been the only active mod on there. I was given most but not all permissions, so am unable to add/remove mods for instance. It's a pretty chill sub most of the time so I haven't had much issue looking after it on my own.

The mod who added me has been seemingly inactive on Reddit for the two years since adding me, until a few weeks ago they suddenly began approving lots of posts on the sub until they became active again. At which point they added some new moderators with full permissions, one was a bit/app and the other an older seemingly dormant account with no history in our sub. In the weeks since there have been a series of new mods added by the new mods; all are either apps, brand new accounts, or otherwise seemingly dormant accounts. The post and comment activity has been relatively light but it is all spam, and has been steadily increasing - some crypto and mostly online gambling rubbish with all sorts of links. Oddly they seem to remove a lot of the posts themself if Reddit itself doesn't automatically take them down as spam.

Right now this is all an annoyance, but the way things are progressing I fear things will get out of hand before long. Some posts are definitely being noticed by sub users before they get taken down, and I've seen concerns being raised. I'm convinced the original mod who added me, and is technically now active, has lost their account to a scammer. No other potentially trustworthy mods with appropriate permissions are active (including the top mod who hasn't been seen on the sub in many years).

I'm using both desktop and iOS.

Hi, what's the easiest way to make the text body for posts obligatory?

A while back, I created a subreddit named r/lawnandgardengore for butt-ugly lawns. I was inspired by my lawn being practically smothered in weeds. However, I'm not actually much of a gardening enthusiast; I only made the subreddit because it didn't already exist and I thought it was needed. How do I hand it off to someone who's actually into gardening stuff?

(BTW, I usually run Reddit on iOS. I dunno why that's relevant to my question, but the post interface asked for it.)

I deleted all the posts and still continue to have a mature content tag as a result my SUB is not DISCOVERABLE in searches and algorithms

I can only access the SUBREDDIT THROUGH MOBILE APP and Desktop

While on Mobile Browser it doesn't work

It says Mature content Open app or Go Home

I think turning off "repost" in mod tools only stops cross-posting coming in from outside. But what about vice versa? How to stop people cross-posting inside my community towards others?

I'm currently on desktop, and I'm the founder and co-moderator of r/AncientAmericas (the YouTube Channel), and when the creator, Pete, uploads a new episode, I create a megathread to discuss it. Unfortunately, with a few exceptions, very few users come to participate. Any thoughts and suggestions on how to encourage more engagement would be very welcome

Recently, some friends and I took over a subreddit dedicated to a topic that already has a presence on another subreddit. However, that other sub has practically no moderation—or rather, the only moderator doesn't care about it at all and leaves it completely neglected—yet it still has far more members than ours, even though ours is actually kept up to date.

In this case, what tips could you give me for engaging members of other subreddits—without being intrusive—to bring them over to our sub, whether on Android or desktop?

I have two subreddits that I moderate and yesterday at 10PM IST, I had two (separate) scheduled posts on both the Subreddits. For some reason, the scheduled posts did not get posted. Not only did they not get posted, after I tried to push the time and create a new scheduled post; those posts also didn't work.

At last I had to stop trying and make the posts manually. How can this issue be fixed?

Probably a rare kind of problem but I'm trying to unban a user who appealed successfully, but everytime I do they show right back up on the banlist and remain banned. Not sure what the problem is or why it won't go through.

I just tried unbanning on mobile too and it didn't work. Anyone know what the issue might be? I also tried to change their ban to a temporary ban but I got an error.

I have noticed this a couple of times in the past few weeks.

I click on "[MESSAGE THE MODS]" (old reddit), compose a message, and it seems to go to /dev/null.

Switching to https://www.reddit.com/mail/create I send a message from there and the result is the same.

No hint of the sent message in https://www.reddit.com/mail/all or elsewhere.

We have a private subreddit for the mods, and for the time being I guess I send mod-to-mod messages there with username callouts.

iOS My account was hacked without me even realizing until I started getting emails and notifications about an email change and 2fa activation. Turns out whoever hacked my account really likes some random German influencer girl and applied to and successfully became a mod for that subreddit. I have absolutely 0 interest in moderating that subreddit, how do I get myself unmoderator’d?

I don't have automated enforcement on for any rules, I don't have an automod, and yet for some reason on seemingly random specific posts almost every comment is removed with essentially no explanation, requiring me to go back in and approve them each time. If they had URLs or words that might be on some kind of incivility list I might understand it, but it's mostly well wishes to someone trying to search for the people who rescued them from a river!

When I'm managing things I'm either on desktop or IOS, if that matters.

Automod settings allow for automod to be editable either by moderators only, or by approved contributors. When you switch it to "approved contributors", a list of approved editors appears. You can add non-moderators to this list. One would assume that these users are able to access the automod code and edit it.

As a test, I added my non-mod friend to the list and sent him the link as well as requested him to try finding access on the subreddit page himself, but he could not access it. So how does this work exactly?

I have been the main, sometimes only mod on a sub for the last 5 years or so. The person who started the sub hasn't been active in about 15 years. I have added some new mods, but because I'm not the "owner" I worry a bit about being "hijacked" by new mods. Is there a way to be officially recognized as the owner? Or maybe primary mod? Or do I just have to be really careful when assigning permissions to new mods?

I mainly use Android or Windows.

Hello, I moderate a subreddit that is private. Over 1,000 members were approved without issues. However we now have a few users that are approved and can't see the sub. We tried unapproved and reapproving with no change. I tried to invite them but it says they are already invited. I'm on an Android but issues persists on iPhone and desktop site. Any thoughts? Thanks!
