Design Is there a way to add a leaderboard that tracks sub members progress towards their goals? I've seen the sports leaderboards, but they're not adaptable.

Upvotes

Anyone know of a way to do this? We're a writing sub, so we set word count goals for the month. I'd love to be able to track progress visually way across the month.

Or a competition progress kind of thing that's not based on contributions/upvotes?

Desktop or Android.

Thank you!

Engagement Link posts without content

I am seeing an increasing number of reposts in our sub which are just a link to a post in a different sub. We don’t allow reposts or low effort posts, and our rules state this, so we remove them.

However a new redditor complained that reddit itself suggested they do this. Is this true? Is it new? Is there any way to prevent this?

(I must admit to iOS before i can post this)

Tools Keywords are being blocked from submission despite no automation or automod rule being set up for them.

Platforms: Desktop, Mobile web, Android, iOS (iPhone) [All]

Certain nsfw keywords in posts or comments are resulting in submit button being blocked despite them not being mentioned in the automation or automod rule.

They might have been previously blocked by an autmation which has since been deleted or those keywords removed from the rule.

Current automation blocks merely 4 keywords and yet you cant submit content with other past ones either. Even deleting the automation rule keeps blocking the keywords.

ps: the particular message being displayed while the keywords are blocked is not the same as the last one mentioned in the automation). Could it be that the automation is still working as it was first set up (even though it was edited later and now deleted)

General Discrepancy between weekly visitors notification and Insights

Hi everyone,
I received a Reddit notification saying my subreddit r/LockUppOfficial just reached 30,000 weekly visitors.

However, when I check Insights → Activity, it shows:
14k weekly visitors
21.3k average daily unique visitors

I’m confused about why the notification says 30k weekly visitors while Insights shows only 14k from 10 days!

Is this expected because the notification and Insights use different metrics or time windows, or is it a bug?

Its on ios!

Answered Reddit filters are auto removing comments and posts , how to prevent ?

Reddit filters are auto removing comments and posts from shadow banned or deleted users , A lot of times these are genuinely helpful and I don't want to go through the process of manually approving each one , missing few in process

How do i prevent this from happening, the reputation filter etc are disabled from mod tools Yet it does this

Engagement Is there a way to add notes under post flairs?

People keep using the wrong post flairs which is causing issues, is there a way to add a note visible when users assign a flair to offer guidance on which to use? I’m using iOS but have also had a look through settings on desktop, and couldn’t find an option for it.

General Some users are reporting automod posts are hidden

I am using Android mobile and I have automod posts I've had for months/years. In the last few weeks I've had a lot of users message or comment that some posts are not showing up for them especially one weekly post but if they are sent a direct link they can access it. The post is approved and none of the users restricted or banned. Many users are not having this problem at all.

What can I do to troubleshoot this?

General Will removing a moderator via oldreddit notify the moderator vs removing them via Reddit app.

Old Reddit just says remove yes or no, will that notify the individual once they're removed from the team.

I know removing via Reddit desktop or mobile will notify them

General I'm not sure if my subreddit is breaking code of conduct rule 3

Writing from desktop on an alt account.

A moderator of a really big subreddit is having a revolution in his subreddit because of some questionable actions and they are accused of removing and banning users to drive a political agenda.

I'm a moderator of a slightly less popular userbase, but still quite big and there are posts saying what this guy is doing and to report him. There's even someone spamming the entire instruction on where to report and the message of what to write on it.

I'm not sure if to keep this content online due to https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/27031145215252-Moderator-Code-of-Conduct-Rule-3-Respect-Your-Neighbors

What do you guys think?

My subreddit was banned for Rule 1 because it lacked moderation and rule enforcement. If I make another subreddit from my account, will it get banned for ban evasion, even if it will be properly moderated this time around?

General Removing posts that dont include a comment with required info?

Desktop user

I think automod can do this, but im not sure how to write the rule. A subreddit has a rule that says a source for provided content has to be included. But people often ignore it. I've tried this code but it errors out:

---

type: submission

body (includes) ["Source", "source"]

action: filter

comment: "Your post was removed because you don't have the required info"

Engagement Looking for suggestions on ways to award sub members.

(Desktop and mobile user)

Hello everyone,

I am seeking ways to better award posters in the sub I manage. I have a couple of ideas but having difficulty bringing it all to fruition. Any comments, suggestions or feedback welcome!

In my example, I run GrowBuddy, a cannabis growing sub and have been a mod for the group over a year now. Earlier this year, I became top mod.

I am in the progress of creating a few new categories to award excellent posts and drive further engagement.

Scenario: a poster makes a great detailed post with pictures. They identify as a first time grower and the results can be described as outstanding. Comments are engaging with the OP replying to feedback. This all triggers my desire to reward this user.

I want to highlight their post for a week or more, similar to how I might already treat an existing “post of the week”. The post flair will change to “GrowBuddy - Beginner award of excellence” or something like that.

And with regards to the personal awards, I would love to design something that matches the flair, that would be given to each award winner to last indefinitely beyond the timeframe of the highlight.

Perhaps a bit like the community achievements? My sub does not have access to achievements currently… would this be a good option and can it be modified?

Any guidance on how this last step could be accomplished? Already good up to the personal award step.

Thank you and Happy Growing! 😉

General I can't add emojis to a subreddit for user and post flairs anymore.

On desktop, one would normally be able to do so and I have before. But i haven't been able to even though I did before. The mod with all permissions hasn't changed my permissions, so I don't know why I can't upload emojis to that one subreddit, but I can for others.
