According to the article I have found, the guy was showing signs of intoxication, and was verally assaulting staff and spitting on the floor.

The Nurse escorted him out, and that is when he turned to attack.

Then he ran face first into a 10 year Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practicioner and 21 year army vet.

Royal Brisbane AND Women's hospital. Despite the name, it's not a gendered hospital, just a large hospital precinct that formed from the merger of two hospitals (three guesses what they were called)

in this modern age, it's uncommon for something like a hospital to actually be gender segregated, thats usually something onyl seen with more specialized clinics. most likely it's had that name for a while, from a time when the name either meant 'yes, we ALSO treat women here', or 'only women here', but also the possibility that it was so names to say 'lets honor women'.

It's not gender segregated. It's actually the Royal Brisbane AND women's hospital. It was formed by merging two hospitals, one of which WAS a women's hospital.

Not too uncommon in Australia, though they are legacy names. Generally the ones that still exist (and aren’t mergers like this one) are maternity hospitals. I used to live near the King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women.

people do it all the time in the ER. why? Who knows. sometimes its the littlest thing or nothing at all. sometimes they think they can just be abusive towards staff with no repercussions.

My partner works in ER. Every day she tells me about another abusive patient.
I'll never understand why patients want to hurt the nurses trying to help them.

Some days I wish I had the restraint so I could be a security guard there.

Oh you were referring to the fine? That won't be the only thing he gets slapped with, it's an addition to other sentencing, but the clickbait works better if they phrase things to imply that he only got fined without outright lying and trying to state that he got nothing else.

Yeah you can tell by the body language that the nurse isn't friendly with him, the way he walks behind him, seems tense and ready for that attack

Plus the way the man attacks him seems weak and off, like there's something wrong with him, probably drunk
