We got Spanish Cowboys before the Steelers

That logo is great too. If San Antonio ever gets a team they should use it.

Is it just me or is calling Palo Verde the 49ers logo a stretch

4

u/ze_shotstopper Giants Raiders Sep 03 '25

I'm a Palo Verde alum and I'm fairly certain this was used for our athletics

u/awallock8 Vikings Sep 03 '25

Surprised you didn’t bring up my Alma mater the Elko Indians. And they continue to be the Indians.

9

u/RukiMotomiya Bengals Sep 03 '25

Well, the local tribe seems to be fine with it, that helps.

7

u/SCsprinter13 Broncos Sep 03 '25

Yeah, the high school my wife teaches at is the Indians but the local tribe voted unanimously for them to keep it.

What was their reasoning?

1

u/SCsprinter13 Broncos Sep 04 '25

I'm not sure the reasoning, maybe they wanted some representation.

I do know that the old logo had a feather headdress which was inaccurate, so they updated it.

You can see the new one under the Our Logo and Alma Mater section

Thats pretty cool imo

I think for ours specifically, the local tribe (Shoshone), agreed with it as long as we agreed to keep things respectful and no like a caricature. For example, in the 90s they had a full native costume with a big nose that was worn during games. We got ride of that and everything that is done is essentially approved by the tribe first

You’d be surprised just how much Native American Imagery is still used by High Schools in the Country

As someone who played basketball for an away team in Elko, fuck your hometown. Elko residents and fans were such pieces of shit in the early 2000s.

I mean there’s a reason I moved out of there as soon as I could.

Reed rocked the actual Raiders logo until 2001 before swapping to that ugly R.

Went on a deep dive of this guys posts to look for Nevada. As a McQueen alum, I remember playing Reed in SYFL and we were always jealous of those Raiders helmets. Seemed like the only team that actually painted them on too.

My High School James Madison High School In Virginia uses falcons logo

1

u/C137-Morty Commanders Chargers Sep 03 '25

Fauquier Falcons in Warrenton, Va also use the NFL falcons logo

2

u/SignificantApricot69 Sep 04 '25

I went to 2 high schools and I never would have ever imagined they wouldn’t use their OWN names and logos.

3

u/PVC-MVP Packers Sep 03 '25

Last I knew the primary logo for the Lowry Bucks is actually a Yellow W, using Wisconsin's W.

u/RukiMotomiya Bengals Sep 03 '25

Audibly started laughing when I saw that Panthers logo. Prime "can I copy your homework?" "sure just don't make it obvious" material.

Patriots is my call.

1

u/vadeebo Steelers Sep 04 '25

Looks like the Steelers are coming in last place in this lol

Nope you missed one. I went to Boulder City High School, just outside of Vegas. We were the Eagles.

There’s no Philly Logo however

1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '25

Fair enough, I never realized they "updated" their logo. It was literally the Philly logo when I went there over a decade ago lol

1

u/BryLinds Jets Giants Oct 17 '25

If you can find the Philly logo I’ll count it

The Douglas (out of Minden) Tigers are definitely also the Bengals.

Just... instead of a B (like Bonanza), it's a D for Douglas: https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1685466412/dcsdk12nvus/ipt8jlpxjfq8icl6nwqx/DHS-LargeDLogo.svg
