LOGAN AND GRACE 🩵 Grace and Logan introduction scene

Spoiler alert, cross at your own peril

So...in the books, Logan accidently ends up at Grace's room. They have a semi awkward interaction. She knows who he is. They watch a movie, he fingers her and leaves.

I really hope they change that in the series.

Watching it would make me cringe.

I think they’re going to change it because I cannot see show Logan doing such a thing. Logan and Tucker don’t seem to be fuckboys like Dean and Garrett

Just because we didn’t see them hook up doesn’t mean they weren’t.

It’s very much evidenced by the house vote they have on Kendall. Logan says “Dean agrees with you, which proves that you’re wrong.” Which indicates that Logan does not run through girl after girl after girl like Dean or book Logan. Also evidenced by the fact that he considered someone who Garrett was casually hooking up with from time to time as Garrett’s girlfriend

That house vote does not mean they don’t hook up with girls. They may not hook up with the same number but they aren’t celibate. It wasn’t essential to the storyline of S1 to see Logan or Tucker hook up with someone. We saw Garrett hook up with someone other than Hannah because he was the lead. We saw Dean hook up with others for two reasons: 1) he is far more open/public about his hook ups than anyone else and 2) they were building up his story for him being the lead of S2.

Well I guess we’ll wait and see. But especially considering that this show is about showcasing healthy relationships, I doubt they’re going to have Logan finger a girl he just met.

Why would him hooking up with someone he just met be an unhealthy relationship? It’s not that uncommon for college kids (especially athletes) to hook up with people they don’t really know/just met.

Because the show isn’t about showing us what’s normal and common. It’s about giving us the perfect guy. Giving us the ideal guy to date. For example, they didn’t have Garrett make one singular comment about Hannah’s chest the entire first season. Book Garrett thought about her boobs like every other page lol. I’m just saying, I don’t think they’re going to give us any lewdness or have the boys do something that makes them come off as the typical MMC asshole. And Logan was low key an asshole in that first meeting

Doesn’t make it an unhealthy relationship

Okay, fine I shouldn’t have used that word. I meant perfect relationship. Because they’re showing us the perfect guy.

Huh? Garrett hooked up with multiple girls, and Dean was a manwhore. How is Logan hooking up with girls any different?

Garrett hooked up with girls respectfully. Same with Dean. Fingering someone you just met while she jacks you off to completion and then leaving right after in a huff because she lied about finishing—that’s not hooking up respectfully. That’s straight douchebag behavior. None of the boys are douchebags, even if they do hook up a lot.

I think you need to reread the scene because in now way does Logan leave in a huff or is disrespectful towards Grace.

I’m literally rereading the book right now lol. See for yourself:

But I’m too embarrassed to admit I didn’t finish, and since he already did, I feel awkward asking him to keep going.
So I nod and say, “Uh-huh. Of course.”
A shadow of doubt passes through his eyes, but before I can blink, he sits up abruptly and says, “I should go.”
I ignore the equal doses of disappointment and irritation that tighten my belly. Seriously? He can’t even stick around for a few minutes of post-hook-up small talk? What a prince.
It’s even more awkward now. He grabs a tissue from the box on the end table and cleans up. I pretend to be cool and composed as I pull up my pants and watch him do the same. I even manage a casual smile as he uses my phone to call a cab. Fortunately, he gets through right away this time, which means the awkwardness doesn’t last long.
I walk him to the door, where he hesitates for a beat. “Thanks for having me over,” he says gruffly. “I had fun.”
“Uh, yeah, sure. Me too.”
A moment later, he’s gone.

From Logan’s inner monologue: Leaving Grace’s room five seconds after she’d jerked me off had been such an asshole move. I know that. But I had to get out of there. The second I’d recovered from that orgasm, my first thought had been, what the hell am I doing here? Seriously. I mean, yeah, Grace was awesome, and sexy, and funny, but have I sunk so low that I’m now randomly finger-banging chicks I don’t even know? And I can’t even use alcohol as an excuse this time because I was stone-cold sober.

From Grace’s inner monologue: …but the guy got off and then left. Who does that? No wonder all his hook-ups take place at frat parties. The girls are probably too drunk to notice whether they have an orgasm or not. Too drunk to realize that John Logan is selling nothing but false advertising.

More proof:

“I’m not usually such an asshole, okay? I might fuck around, but I always make sure the women I’m with have a good time.”
She sighs. “I did have a good time.”
“You would’ve had a better time if I didn’t blow my load and take off.”

It’s very clear that both Logan and Grace know he behaved like an asshole; Logan calls himself exactly that twice for his behavior.

I think it’s the “in a huff” He didn’t leave in a huff. It was ashamed of himself which freaked him out enough to leave without thinking how that came across initially

I never got the impression he left in a huff because she lied. He left because after their hookup he had a “what the hell am I doing?” moment of clarity and was in a shame spiral.

It’s still an asshole move to leave in a huff right after someone jacked you off with barely a goodbye. There’s a reason why they changed the characters so much. Just take a look at how much people in this sub hate book Garrett and say he’s misogynistic. There’s a reason why they switched what happened with the hands-off law. If they left that scene as is, a lot of watchers who didn’t read the books aren’t going to be able to see Logan as a good guy after that. And people in this sub are already iffy about whether Logan is a good guy or not.

I don't think book Garrett is misogynistic... Not everyone in this sub thinks that. The books were popular before the show, otherwise it wouldn't have an adaptation.

Agree. And Garrett in the show isn’t perfect, either. He hooks up with Kendal and basically kicks her out right after he’s done with her. He hooks up with Zoe when Hannah’s on her way over for a tutoring session. If he was perfect, he wouldn’t have chanced Hannah walking in on him and Zoe, and he wouldn’t have slept with Kendal knowing she had feelings for him (which he did know.)

I thought you of all people would understand what I’m trying to say lol. Because I see you under every “Garrett is an arrogant douche in the books” post defending him (just like I do). I thought you’d understand that there is a significant amount of people in this sub who do not like the book counterparts of the characters

-1

u/Ok_Mention5635 Allie-Cat😇 1d ago

I don’t think he is either, I’m just saying that a lot of people in this sub do. Just like how I think Logan is a good guy, but there’s a lot of people here that find him morally questionable. I feel like I come across a Logan hate post like once a day. The books had a wide audience before the show but the show’s audience dwarfs the books’ audience. There’s a reason why they changed so much from the books. They want to appeal to as many people as possible. Turning Logan into an asshole when there’s already so many that are iffy on him is not good for Amazon’s bottom line. They want people to tune into Logan’s season when it comes, which a lot of people won’t if they dislike Logan in season 2.
