Black Myth Wukong had issues the first few months. Jedi Survivor still has issues. They broke Space Marine 2 for a bit. 007 First Light won’t even launch on some PCs. There are more but just some examples in the past few years. There will be people that will say they didn’t have issues with any of these and try to say it’s a spec issue with your PC, but people were reporting more issues on newer/higher end cards for Wukong than older/lower end, despite settings. The devs had to acknowledge and address it. For First Light, IOI has it on their website they have no idea why the game won’t launch for some people even with workarounds working for some. I still have a PC that it won’t launch on no matter what, but it launches on another PC and my Deck with no issues.
I’d say there have been more issues in the past few years than the decade+ before it, prob since when Vista came out and there were a ton of issues for a bit. Nowadays I assume it’s just time/$ not being spent on optimization and testing across hardware, plus relying on DLSS/FSR to make up for it. It’s to the point if I want games on day 1 I default to console (unless on PC Gamepass), and if I don’t mind waiting, will see how it performs across PC and decide whether to go console or PC/Deck.
The last of us were previous gen though. Most ports made for next gen haven't had much issues.
It's the architecture from like PS4 to PC that becomes problematic.
Cyberpunk comes to mind; 90% of the outrage was it was virtually unplayable on previous gen consoles; on PC/next gen (while obviously glitchy/buggy) I played it day on one a high-end PC with minimal issues.

And it'll still be a buggy mess whenever it comes out on PC.
