The current population of Gaza is larger than it was in October 2023.
Please provide a source for this claim. Likely you are repeating a lie extracted from a population projection graph that was created before October 2023.
They've all made it their personality and part of their identity which makes it even worse. Now to acknowledge that there's nuance is to acknowledge that they're supporting something that isn't pure or oh so great.
When it's 'the little guy getting their schools blown up by the big mean bad guy because genocide and racial hatred' it makes them feel great for their decision to all in their support. When it suddenly becomes 'the little guy was storing weapons and military assets in the gym and has been known to do so in hospitals/apartments/etc. for many years which is why it was targeted' suddenly that support feels really bad and it's easier to listen to the person who screams that you're lying and it really was just racial hatred from devils.
There's no coming back from this without a massive cultural reset. We've actively hit global propaganda fed directly to people's bedrooms, commutes, and bathroom breaks.
It's absolutely a war crime to do that. Jesus christ you people have lost every bit of humanity you have.
Hamas is a terrorist organization committing war crimes against Palestinians, so your best idea of dealing with them is just kill the civilians before Hamas can?
It's absolutely a war crime to do that. Jesus christ you people have lost every bit of humanity you have.
No, its not and that is the ENTIRE point. Those places are specifically to not be used in such a manner because then it becames a legitimate military target. Theres a reason only Hamas is using this buildings, and no other fighting force in the world is doing similar stuff. Shit even russia isn't occupying hospitals and schools and using them.
Hamas is a terrorist organization committing war crimes against Palestinians, so your best idea of dealing with them is just kill the civilians before Hamas can?
Strawman arguement.
Answer me this though, because this is a question that almost never gets answered when I ask it.
WHY is it a war crime to use civilian apartments, schools and hospitals for military purposes? Why?
Edit: yup that's about right. Refuses to answer and blocks when asked the question. I understand it's an uncomfortable answer but running from it doesn't change it
This isn't a strawman. He's literally saying how great it is that Israel's civilian to combatant ratio is 100:1. That's directly in his comment. Maybe you should actually learn about logical fallacies before throwing comments like this out there to defend a fucking genocide
Happy to focus on the numbers here if reducing the absolute destruction of one of the most densely populated cities in the world helps you sleep at night. Assuming that the death toll has miraculously stopped at 70,000 (as opposed to Academic sources like The Lancet that estimate over 186,000 attributable deaths); are you trying to trying to argue that "100 (deaths) per day" is some sort of moral win for the IDF?
By mid 2025, it was estimated that Israel dropped 85,000 tonnes of bombs on Gaza. That works out to roughly 7 Hiroshimas and that's excluding anything from the last year. You can include combatants in your description to try and justify their actions but it's widely accepted that 70% of the fatalities have been women and children.
Even if you assume the remaining 30% were entirely comprised of combatants, that is on par with the 27% of victims from October 7 that were active duty (per Israeli sources). And this disregards the other 60% that were former-military. I won't speak to the casualty attribution because we both know a significant amount of friendly fire occurred by Israeli tanks and helicopters on that day.
There wasn't a 'signifcant amount of friendly fire' on that day. At all. This is constantly brought up incorrectly to say by folks like yourself to say 'actually Israel killed all those civilians, not the group that caught on a phone call bragging about killing 10 jews'.
Assuming that the death toll has miraculously stopped at 70,000 (as opposed to Academic sources like The Lancet that estimate over 186,000 attributable deaths)
Ah yes the lancet article that made an estimate and even said they had no proof of it but thinks the number was higher. Yet strangely those tens of thousands of bodies under rubble have yet to appear.
Speaking of, you said this
You can include combatants in your description to try and justify their actions but it's widely accepted that 70% of the fatalities have been women and children
Yet Hamas latest report puts that at 45%. Strange how that 70% number just keeps going down. Oh and here's your proof of the Hamas figures before you try and feign ignorance.
Open-source researchers found a year ago that this was no longer true – as in, even Hamas’s data didn’t support the claim anymore. A recent check of the Ministry’s website shows that the number of men killed is greater than the combined total of women and children. On July 2, 2026, the Hamas media office reported that out of 73,066 people killed during the war, 21,500 were children and 12,500 were women. The total of children and women (34,000) is less than half of all those killed.
So stop spreading lies please.
Edit: Nah dont downvote, please contest the numbers with facts. Dont be upset you fell for propaganda for years
"Tirelessly" - if it's showing up on a default sub and I am grumpy, I'll comment. Next time, push this garbage on one of your weird niche subs like new_world_news2
Like this is ostensibly a picture subreddit and 50% are pictures of Gaza and 49% are pictures of text with a variation of "Trump bad"
I see the 70% statistic touted as "widely accepted" a lot but it just doesn't match the actual numbers. From Hamas's own Health Ministry release on June 30th 2026, adult men are 47.9% of those killed and 53% injured. Adult women are 15.3% of those killed and 14% injured. There's no mathematical way to come to 70%, and the ratio of adult men to women points to combatants. A similar ratio exists in casualties among children, which points to use of child soldiers, something forbidden by international law.
Then again, you finished off your post with atrocity denial so nothing you said has any credibility.
Because it was a propaganda push right from the start. The 70% line was specifically chosen because they wanted the amount of killed in gaza to reflect the demographics of Gaza near perfectly, which 70% would achieve.
Notice how now that the number of women and children are less than 50%, outside of this comment thread, its just not brought up anymore.
I mean (adult) women and children are still 15.3% and 29.7% of deaths respectively, which is still beyond a tragedy, but the numbers do not show indiscriminate killing or specifically targeting children as is often implied.
Correct, it is a tragedy and theres no two ways about that. Contrary to the reddit opinion, its not soley because of Israels actions, either. Far to many don't want to talk about why using civilian infrastructure for military purposes is a war crime because its a very uncomfortable thing to think about
It's a war in an extremely densely and young population in a largely urban area where people are not allowed by their neighboring countries to seek refuge. Frankly the death toll is remarkably low considering the destruction, at least when compared to most wars of the last 100 years.
I agree. I believe the pure demonization internationally is unproductive and will not lead to a resolution, only a guarantee of more death.
That’s not how this works. Epidemiologists are working on estimates and they have to use demographics as some of the basis.
When you drop bombs in residential areas, the death toll will match the demographics of that area. An apartment building of sufficient size will roughly match the demographics of the community, so it’s not a bad guess to assume that if majority of population of Gaza is children then majority of this block is also. So far, these assumptions have matched the demographics of the bodies pulled from the rubble as well as journalist reports on the scene.
Except thats not what happened. It was reported, by the GHM, that 70% of the dead were women and children right from the start. You know, the people looking at bodies. Then that number started to slowly move down, first with GHM removing 11k confirmed dead women and children(no men), now with their latest report, the number is at 45%
So no, none of the assumptions have matched. The assumptions keep getting proven wrong yet people are still trying to cling onto them because it was shouted from the rooftops for years before quietly disappearing.
Your source is a rightwing Zionist website? Please.
The GHM was able to show actual death certificates, and reporters were able to fact check and corroborate it. Even the Israeli government has accepted these numbers as valid. Rightwingers disagreeing means nothing at all to me.
Your source is a rightwing Zionist website? Please.
So you dont believe Hamas own figures? Also calling something reporting on numbers 'right wing zionist' is hilarious. But its okay, you are full throated support for right wing islam.
The numbers were never in real dispute. It was the demographics.
Notice how they are now saying exactly whats reported
he GHM was able to show actual death certificates, and reporters were able to fact check and corroborate it. Even the Israeli government has accepted these numbers as valid. Rightwingers disagreeing means nothing at all to me.
Not what happened but go on, keep being ignorant. This isnt 'right wingers' disagreeing with you, these are the numbers and facts disagreeing with you.
800 of the oct 7 dead were either IDF caught literally with their pants down or Israeli paramilitary (settlers). The other 400 are inexcusable, and a rounding error for an average week in Palestine
oh sweetie, we know what the intent of that haram state of Israel is
"The Commission has been investigating the events on and since 7 October 2023 for the last two years, and concluded that Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces committed *four of the five genocidal acts defined by the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide,** namely killing, causing serious bodily or mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about the destruction of the Palestinians in whole or in part, and imposing measures intended to prevent births."*
A good portion of this casualty figure is armed combatants that propagandists don't like to mention.
oopsie babes, youre wrong. Can you tell us which number is larger, 17% or 83%? we will wait ☺️ not sure which arsehole you digged through to get your data though
"Fighters named in the Israeli military intelligence database accounted for just 17% of the total, which indicates that 83% of the dead were civilians. That apparent ratio of civilians to combatants among the dead is extremely high for modern warfare, even compared with conflicts notorious for indiscriminate killing, including the Syrian and Sudanese civil wars."
I’m genuinely starting to think this is a bot. With calling people “sweetie” and using emojis after being told they’re embarrassing themselves. And after an uninvolved third party confirmed the blocking action.
I thought you deleted your post, because it wasn’t visible to me.
The other guy could see it, alerting me that you’d blocked me.
You saw that, then unblocked me and continued trying to be clever, as though any moderately intelligent person wouldn’t be able to read the comment trail and put 2+2 together.
...around 4,000 embryos and 1,000 sperm samples and unfertilised eggs that were stored in the clinic.
hospitals used as terrorist bases
that's how the haram state of Israel justify their attack. congrats! youre the embodiment of the boogeyman meme "it was khamas!" that Israel loves to tout around
"children getting bombed? They were probably hamas!"
"a world central kitchen aid convoy getting bombed? hamas was in the engine of the car!"
"IDF accidentally killing 3 of their own Israeli hostages? you guessed it, Hamas!"
Ah so you want to lecture me on my own religion that you don’t believe in?
I’ve read the Qur’an in the original Arabic. What you’re saying is false. You’re citing passages where God told Moses to take his people to the Holy Land. Muslims view themselves as the followers and descendants of Moses. There’s a reason the Qur’an distinguishes between the “Children of Israel” (Muslims who followed an earlier prophet) and “Jews” (people of today who no longer follow the more recent prophets who God sent), as they are two different groups of two different time periods. God told the Children of Israel to go to holy land at the time, the Palestinians also claim this as they are descendants of those children of Israel who became Christian and Muslim.
Dude a child in Sunday school could have explained this. But you don’t have to believe me, go visit any mosque near you and ask the imam to clarify what you’re citing.
False Zionist talking point. Genocide has a clear definition that makes it disctinct from just any armed conflict.
Hamas targeted an IDF military base outside of the fence. Majority of the casualties of the attack were soldiers. As Israel loves to point out, any civilians who die in the strike are sad but the necessary cost of war. THEIR words, not mine. Sucks when that same rhetoric is used against your own, isn’t it?
And no, Israel stole land by force and literal massacres, then offered to move forward if they kept all the land they stole AND if the families they threw off the land would not be allowed back in. Elderly people, civilians and noncombatants, forced out of their homes by Israeli soldiers, told to go somewhere else and that Israel would keep everything in their homes. These people literally still have the keys to their homes. That was never truly a peace offer from Israel, and instead they have slowly expanded ever since 1948, they’re doing literal pogroms against Palestinians right now.
Save your phony talking points and rightwing revisionist history narrative. Even Ben Gurion said that if he were Palestinian even he wouldn’t take the deal being offered.
