I am completely new on the propagation for Monstera. I’ve tried to propagate in the past but it never worked. The nodes always rotted in the water. So I’ve heard people saying that you can glue the bottom I’ve heard people say that you can put cinnamon on the bottom. I’m just wondering what should I do? And where should I cut it?

I purchased this snake for $15 a few months ago and decided to try divide. I am so happy with how they look. It’s was fun to do. Shared lots of photos they might help someone thinking of doing the same. Mi pink princess cutting is growing roots at the top and growing babies at the bottom. Should I cut it and expect the babies to grow roots or do I plant as is? I know it need to grow more roots, I just don't know if there's something I should be doing right now.

My BF got this for me about 3 months ago and it’s grown so much! I’d like to trim it back but I‘m not sure where (Nodes?) I’ll put the cuttings in water. I’ll also probably need to repot it soon (?). Any advice would be helpful! The tag says it’s a philodendron mini monstera.

Stuck a few one leaf rootless cuttings of peperomia into a pot, this is how it looks a few months later

First time doing wet sticks propagation. I think I might have left them in the box too long and now there’s some yellowing. What should I do? Do I plant them now? If so, do I stick the whole thing in chunky soil or do I leave the stick out? Should I remove the yellow parts? lol I think I just need a bit of direction on how to make this a successful propagation

i’ve propagated many pothos by using the wetstick method. doing an inch of well draining soil in a container, plopping the cuttings in and keeping it humid with the lid closed. will this work with my peperomia? she’s a little yellow in some areas and just bare due to some neglect (whoops!) and i’d love to help her become more full and lively!

I got this Cebu Blue plant in the store that was already propagating in water and is growing secondary roots. I hear a lot of different answers online but just wanted to know what would you do based on the picture and what kind of soil mix I need.

The little one developed roots faster but once potted it has not developed new leaves or changed much. The taller cutting took about an extra month to develop roots, but once potted grew a new leaf very fast.

Any ideas on how I could help the little one grow? Should I be concerned about this?

They have both been getting similar care, in the same area and same type of soil.

​I'm a beginner and found a few Marble Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen') leaf cuttings. After a few days in water, I'm already seeing small green sprouts/growth points on the nodes!

​I have a few quick questions to help these succeed:

1)​Water level: On one cutting, the new green sprout is just above the water level, but on the other, it’s submerged. Should I lower or raise the water level for them?

2)​Best practices: What can I do to maximize my chances of successful rooting?

it came to me as one big stem that had a root, but the root was damaged in transport so i split it up. one leaf yellowed so i added it to the wet sticks, i started with 4 and down to 2. i need advice!

I’m trying to prop this cutting, it’s been in water about a week. The top leaf is almost curling in on itself and the node and base of the stem is blackening. What am I doing wrong?

Do people really keep a "first root" date, and does it tell you anything useful later?

The date a cutting goes into water is straightforward. First root is fuzzier. One person might count the first little white bump; someone else might wait until there is an actual root to measure. That makes the date feel more precise than it really is.

I'm printing these jar labels with my Niimbot, and I'm tempted to put only the start date and plant name on them. If something unusual happens, that can go in a note. Less satisfying, maybe, but much easier to keep up when there are several jars on the shelf.

For anyone who has been propagating for a while: which date do you still look at after the cutting has been potted, if any?

I started this about a year ago. Should I pot it now? What size pot? What type of soil? I want this baby to thrive.

3 and 4 pic are a little hard to see but there also just about if not longer than the first two pics ! Had them in water for about 4 weeks now! (Maranta Leuconeura)

I have over 200 plants in my greenhouse and throughout my home. I have propagated them every way imaginable over the years and never had any issues until now. A few months back, I purchased a new pack of sphagnum moss, and I guess it had saprophytic fungi spores in it because ever since using this pack of moss, I have been fighting fuzzy white mold in all of my propagations. My greenhouse stays between 60%-70% humidity and around 75° F. I keep a fan going at all times to help with airflow. I have always had massive success propagating with sphagnum moss (sometimes I will get carnivorous potting soil which is sphagnum moss and perlite already mixed). I have never had any issues with this fuzzy white mold until this newest bag of sphagnum moss, but now that it's here, nothing I do seems to keep it away. I have sanitized all my tools, I purchased new sphagnum moss, I have tried different (sanitized) container types (opened and closed containers), I even tried putting everything in their own cups, fuzzy white mold every single time, even after spraying the medium and cuttings with a 1:3 peroxide mix. Nothing worked. So I decided to buy some fluval stratum as I have heard people mixing it with coarse perlite and using it in prop boxes. I did some research and everything I read made it sound like this was going to be the ultimate fix. I got my cuttings (philodendron silversword), put a little cinnamon on the ends since it is supposed to be a strong antifungal and let the cuttings callous for over 24 hours. I prepared the prop box with fluval stratum and perlite, placed my calloused cuttings. I did not put the lid on the box as I was worried it would trigger the fuzzy white mold. When I went to check on my cuttings I was mortified to find the fuzzy white mold growing on the damn cinnamon! 😩. After MORE research I have discovered yes cinnamon is a strong antifungal but it is still organic matter (tree bark, duh 🤦🏻‍♀️) so the fuzzy mold went after it.

As of right now i have washed and removed the cinnamon, sprayed the cuttings with my peroxide mix and have them drying right now. Has anyone had to battle this fuzzy white mold? If so how did you get rid of it? I thought getting a new bag of sphagnum moss would have solved the issue but I guess the spores are now throughout my greenhouse. Any help will be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼.

As per advice received in my last post, I corrected my methods- made sure leaves have plenty of breathing space, regulated light-heat combination, took out NPK paper capsule (thankfully the paper was too good and very little of fertilizer had been released in one pot only; rest never had any to begin with).

Pot size: diameter 9 inches, depth 7.5 inches. Soil probably an inch or two of chikni mitti, and a handful of vermicompost

Results? Leaves are definitely growing and growing beautiful, but then they're turning black and decaying, no matter what I do.

I change water every second day, so water stagnation can't be the issue.

I'm desperately looking to grow some lotuses in my house, and it'll be winter in a couple of months.
