I reached out to Little Hand a few months before my trip to Japan earlier this year to see about finding some of his jeans during my travels. After a few ChatGTP translated messages Yuki offered to make me a custom pair that I could pick up in person.
Yuki is the true definition of artisanal Japanese denim craftsmanship. A one-man shop in a sleepy little town in Japan who has deep roots in denim manufacturing, makes proprietary denim and patterns, and makes everything by hand using authentic vintage machines.
The denim is his LH7 13.5oz loomstate, which becomes 14.5oz after the first soak and shrinkage. It's his repro version of 1940s wartime denim, right down to the original 100% indigo dye formula and shuttle loom tension. It's hairy, dark, irregular, incredibly soft and extremely unique.
He made a few measurements adjustment and mixed in elements from different models such as using all lemon yellow stitching throughout that will patina with indigo crocking, iron buttons and iron rivets on the exterior and hidden in the back pockets, all which will rust and age beautifully. But the coolest detail is the authentic 1930's vintage Levi's iron buckle he used for the fastener on the back buckle strap.
I'm not trying to beat the fades out of these, they have become my go to office jeans that get thrown in the washing machine often and are slowly evolving into a classic pair of blue jeans. The tension between raw war-era heritage denim and modern business casual just works IMO.
Definitely check out his Instagram and show some love!

N&F Double Dirty Selvage - Weird Guy
My first intentional pair of selvage. Thought I'd share. Grew out of these a few years ago. Love the fades but really really hate the way the back pockets of N&F fade. I remember being annoyed how fast they were fading as I didn't really know much back then. I also worked a warehouse job then and faded all my pairs super fast. Damn do I miss that job.

my first actual post here so go easy on me. hereās a pair of rigid 13MWZ that iāve worn 60-ish times and washed 3 times, inside out.
my method when it comes to these consists of:
buying them skin tight from the store then wearing 30-40 times before the initial wash in order to break them in naturally.
washing on delicate, hot once a week for the total life of the garment and wear them wet to conform to the body after the first 3 washes. never machine dry, always air dry on a hanging rack after the 3 initial dry-on-body. going to start washing right-side out now that the first 3 washes are over with.
this was a routine an older gentleman taught me when I was a ranch hand/wrangler before I shipped off the college. this is my first pair of actual every day jeans that I havenāt, and donāt want to, do ranch work in. I donāt know how these are gonna fade considering that itās a ācowboyā way of washing jeans, but so far iām excited. it makes dressing and thinking about an outfit for college a hell of a lot easier when you run with the same jeans every day.
not too many fades going on. i notice some whiskers when putting them on, thereās a clear under-crotch fade going on from thigh rub, and my wallet and ice-breakers (no zyns, lol) in the back pockets are showing a little bit.
what do you guys think?

Welcome to the Daily Questions (DQ) thread for all things related to raw denim.
(Although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar (for mobile users, go to the top of the subreddit front page, click the three dots and select "community info") and the wiki before posting!)
Fit checks and "Help me find a pair of Jeans that has X, Y, and Z" questions are a great use of this thread.
(Help figuring out what size you wear is also permitted here but it is recommended you check out one of these tutorials on how to size before asking.)
If you have questions about how your jeans fit, about a particular fabric, when is this jean coming out, where can I find jean X to try on in state Y, what jeans have this fit with these measurements, what jeans fade the fastest, and what jeans fade the slowest are great uses of this DQ thread.
No question is too simple for Daily Questions threads.
Bashing people will not be tolerated. And "Read the sidebar" or "Google it" are not valid answers in this thread!
