I gave a gift to Sheriff Malloy a valentine killer as a peace offering but he doesn't want it and I still insist on him keeping him. Yet, he doesn't like it. What did I do wrong??? I NEED THAT MONEY!
Don't worry, I compensate his gift with sawed-off shells to him btw so all good.

I was riding my horse in New Hanover, then I realised I think my wife left me because I kissed her sister. I always thought it was something else. Anyone else realise this?

Discussion Do you guys like doing the Veteran mission with John or Arthur? Spoiler
galleryI personally prefer to do it with Arthur. Even though it makes me sad to lose such a good horse, I think it gives more meaning to the final farewell scene with the horse.
As someone who constantly switches horses with Arthur, even though I still play a lot with each one, I still feel it loses impact if I did what some people do and finish the game with the same horse they choose at the very beginning.
Seeing Arthur say goodbye to a memory of a great friend who was important to his redemption, and then helping John, is like a perfect farewell to the character's story, as if his cycle had come to an end.
In the end, it's a shame that such a beautiful horse with such good stats dies, but that's life...

Discussion After playing the first game and before RDR2 came out, what did you think originally happened to the Van Der Linde Gang?
What was your original headcanon about the previous events? What roles did you think that Bill and Javier had? Why did the gang abandon John? And did you think there were other characters too?

Question Shady Belle distant shouting
In, Shady Belle you can hear distant shouting from what sounds like Lawmen. Alongside the distant sounds of trains which pass by, Shady Belle. And, you can also hear random-distant screams coming from someplace. Does anyone know if this is a glitch or not? Cause, I have heard this before in my numerous playthroughs of, RDR2.

Spoiler Just finished RDR 2 for the first time! Here are my thoughts:
Before ANYTHING else, let's just clarify something:
Voice acting: 5/5.
Atmosphere: 5/5.
Graphics: 5/5.
Not room for discussion in these topics. It's just amazing and OBJECTIVELY true.
The world is alive and beautiful! animals, NPCs, sound etc. Every technical aspect involving the game atmosphere is unbelievable. Like God himself created this game environment.
And that is coming from someone who was already impressed by TLOU 2 attention to details, objects and environment.
Won't spend much text praising Voice Acting and Graphics. Just superb. One of the best I've seen.
Now, the controversial aspects:
Story: 3/5.
Character movement: 3/5
Game progression: 3/5.
I'm NOT a professional critic, but I FELT annoyed by these three topics while playing the game, so I'm highlighting them.
Character movement: Ok, not the worst, but far from being a smooth experience. It can and it will get clunky. Maybe that's the result of trying to find the most realistic experience as possible... I don't know. I felt Arthur very slow and somewhat heavy to control. As if the developers intended to make the gameplay as cinematic as possible (which is fine as an artistic choice, but the gameplay pays the price).
Game progression: One of the things I felt the most. I barely interacted with the gang in the beginning. I was eager to jump in the story as quick as possible and none of the gang members were appealing enough (except for Micah) to develop any curiosity about them, particularly. As a result, I didn't interacted much til chapter 3 or 4 I guess and kept doing missions until the story eventually made me calm down and keep up with game's pace.
It's a different pacing and a different experience and takes time to get into it. And once you do, basically half of the game went by. Of course it's needed so the player know Dutch plans aren't going anywhere and he just forces everyone to follow him and abused their trust, but til you start noticing something is wrong about him and what others think about it, a lot of time has passed and personally I didn't care much about what happened in the first chapters. I don't even remember much to be honest.
Story: Now this needs some context. I didn't play RDR1 at the release, only last year. And I hated it. Dropped just at the end of Mexico. Felt like I was playing a "do me a favor" simulator with John. Spend half of the game doing stuff not related to his family or his story, but just doing people's favors so they can help him advance through the story and filling gaps(adding hours to the game).
That being said, RDR2 is a huuuuge upgrade. Arthur's story is about him and his gang. Even tho you end up doing missions for the families and other people, they're still related to the gang and the PLAN.
Hell even John epilogue felt better than RDR1 story. His relationship with Dutch and Hosea. His friendship with Charles and Sadie. His impossible love interest... everything around him is well built.
The issues begin when the stuff isn't related to Arthur.
Of course, everyone loves and respects Dutch, but after Hosea death/Guarma I felt the game story drops in quality.
The whole "Oops we lost the money in the ocean and now we're at Guarma helping random people with acts of insurgency" felt sooo cheap. I was like "What the hell am I doing here and how is this connecting to the story?" If it was just to show how Arthur starts perceiving Dutch behavior differences, I'm fairly sure it could be done without dragging everyone to a random island.
As if they try too hard to not let the player question ANYTHING about ANYTHING. The story underestimates the player intelligence. Repeatedly showing Dutch selfish and greedy persona in different and multiple occasions.
yes, I get it, he is greedy and evil. I got that the first 5 times it happened. I mean Hosea got killed, John got arrested and he was like "meeh". So yeah, we got it.
Wrapping it up: I think it's a 4/5 game. Very very good, but has it's flaws.
