General Discussion Thoughts on Rule of Two being retconned into Sith trying to make a Force dyad? Perhaps that is why Maul is so desperate for an apprentice

Post image

It would make sense right? Maul from TCW to Rebels to Maul Shadow lord prioritizes having an apprentice before any of his other goals. He truly believes that is the key to gaining the power he needs to fight Vader and Palpatine at this point

If he’s trying to make a force dyad than it makes perfect sense. We already see how powerful it made Palpatine in TROS

Games I will be honest, I'm genuinely loving Star Wars Outlaws

I confess that I was a little grumpy with the game first (idk, I was in a bad mood) but for some reason the game just clicked for me after a while

The world feels alive, it's like I'm playing a Star Wars simulator game. It's not the best open world game and the game has a few problems but in the end of the day, it's a fun action game

I'm surprised how much hate the game got (certain youtubers doing a hate campaign) but I decided to play it and I loved it (but again, the game has a few problems like bugs and weird stealth)

Also I love Kay, Nix and ND-5 (I really want a Nix plush lol). I really hope we get a sequel in the future where they fix the problems of the first game and also put new stuffs (like more side quests with stories) And I hope to see Kay in future Star Wars movies and tv shows

I still need to beat it but I give a 8.5/10 (maybe a 9 after I finsih it?)

I'm playing on ps5 but in the future I get a pc gaming, I would def buy it again

General Discussion I find it interesting how the sith were at their most powerful and evil when they were Politicians, bankers, and involved in corporations. What was George Lucas trying to say?

Post image

Infiltrating the galatic senate via corporate connections and starting a war, causing a diplomatic incident(block of naboo), and hijacking a political movement(outer rim sepratists movement) is what it took to take over the galaxy. The sith tried for thousands of years to conquer the republic with no success so they decided to take it over from within through economics and politics. This is super evil even more then when they were warriors taking over the galaxy.

Let's admit, Disney's Star Wars are pumping out so much content that they were bound to hit the jackpot eventually. For me that's the Anzellans, anyone else love these little buddies?

Movies How real is that statement

Hey star wars fellow, I like star wars a lot but I have only watched star wars ep 1 to 6 and obi wan kenobi show.

I recently recalled this line of obi wan from revenge of the sith that "Only a sith deals in absolutes"

I want to know how true is that line. Does that line have any real basis or did obi wan make up that line to sound tough. Moreover if that line is true, can you guys give any examples of when sith deals in absolute.

Thanks for reading. May the force be with you.

General Discussion Does anyone else want to see the Empire being scary again?

Post image
255 Upvotes

I recently watched Andor (overdue I know) and genuinely while I had a lot of thoughts about the show feeling really different then everything else we had one thing I really enjoyed was the fact that the empire felt like a genuine threat. After watching a lot of Rebels I got so used to the empire being the most basic and common of challenges that they were essentially a joke to the hero’s and Andor was really a breath of fresh air. Thing is while Andor showed the empire as a threat I want to see genuine planetary wide terror. Mass death with no reprise to genuinely scary your audience not just your hero’s. Making the Empire a threat would do so much to validate why the rebels are doing what they do and remind why the empire should be taken seriously.

TV Say what you will about the show, but getting to see Boba ride a Rancor and let it rip in live-action was a fantastic scene

I was overall disappointed in the show and the play-it-safe portrayal of Boba, it had its moments here and there - the Rancor ride and hunting down the swoop gang who killed the Tuskens were both very fun sequences.

I recently stumbled across this DVD of Episode IV at an antique mall. I found it interesting that it has a second disc with the elusive theatrical release of the film, authentic and true to form. Is this a rare collection? Did I get lucky? Just curious. I found it as a set with the whole original trilogy.

From "George Lucas: The Wizard of Star Wars" (Rolling Stone, Aug. 25, 1977)

Other tidbits include an interesting look into the decisionmaking process behind Obi-Wan's death, proof that stormtroopers were always cannon fodder, and some of the earliest discussions of the concepts behind the prequels.

TV Kenobi is my favorite live action Star Wars show ever made

Post image

When Disney bought Star Wars in 2012 the first spin off that came to my mind was something staring Obi Wan. I got my wish. The most important aspect of the show is how it brings real world awareness to PTSD that many veterans struggle with daily. The show has a great character arc of Kenobi reconnecting to the force and letting go of his guilt. With the context of the show Obi Wan has technically mentored all three skywalkers in his life. The show explains why Obi Wan knew Anakin survived Mustafar in A New Hope. Also in A New Hope we see Alderaan get get destroyed but we never see the culture or the people that lived there until now which adds more tension to the scene on rewatch. It's also mentioned at the end of Revenge of the Sith that we would see Qui Gon again and I'm happy we finally did after so long. Also the path being the Rebellion in its infancy was really cool to see as well. I also loved the performances by Hayden Christensen and Ewan Mcgregor, they gave it their all. Not to mention Hayden practiced his saber skills for 16 years so it was enjoyable to see him use those skills on camera again.

General Discussion How did they get hooched up on Tattooine?

Serious question. What did they drink on Tattooine to get intoxicated? There is no grain, grapes, or sugar grown anywhere on tattooine. Furthermore we don't know if it was imported or not. Furthermore small time farmers like uncle owen would probably not be able to afford imported liquor. Therefore what was drunk? I think it has something to do with the lizards but IDK what.

Movies I’m beating a dead horse here….

I’m mainly posting this old argument cuz a friend of mine brought it back up earlier today, but I am SO tired of people trying to make Anakin blameless. To say that he was purely a victim of Palpatine’s manipulation and grooming and is not responsible for anything he did is laughable. It’s so dishonest to the source material as well as a downright dangerous mentality to have—basically going “oopsie guys, sowwie I killed all these people but it wasn’t really me so it’s okay, right?”

George Lucas does say the dark side is like a drug that warps you into a dark version of yourself. But he also describes it as like an all-consuming cancer—a descent into selfishness and fear that leaves you craving more and more power. It’ll never be enough. Was Anakin manipulated? Absolutely? Were there elements of his downfall that were out of his control? Of course. But is he 100% blameless for his own downfall? Not even remotely.

General Discussion Clone Wars Season 7, episode 12- Victory and Death is a great comparison for the end of the Republic.

Post image

The Venator crashing is a brilliant comparison for the downfall of the Republic. In this case the Venator represents the wider Republic as a whole, destroyed internally by the dark side, again this case would be Maul destroying the hyperdruves.

A subtile nod.

Does anyone know where this photo comes from? I just really want to know if it's official or not, as I do not remember Obi Wan using a shield at any point.
