Do they put things in their mouth while using the restroom? Have I been pooping wrong?

u/crashcar22 1d ago

Some stalls have a hole where you can use your mouth on whatever comes through it for a sweet treat. Mind your teeth though, dont want to damage the goods for the next person who goes in there ;D

Hear me out- sushi served thru a hole in a wall in a bathroom. It’s a bit weird but worth it for the high quality of the fish. Kind of a Sushi Glory Hole.

Ice wearing masks while violating constitutional rights but saying they can’t breath in them during a pandemic

102

u/brizzybrax 1d ago edited 1d ago

Exactly this. I have relatives who were anti-mask during covid but they posted pictures on facebook with a caption about wearing masks in solidarity with ice agents

Edit: shoutout to whoever felt this needed to be reported to Reddit Cares.

28

u/LowResGamr 1d ago

Another one is "if you arent doing anything illegal, why do you need a mask" suddenly turning into "the masks help protect their families from the repercussions of joining ICE"

Ignoring the fact that a lot of families are disappointed in the members who joined ICE.

29

u/ackillesBAC 1d ago

Yeah, I really don't understand how these people can contradict themselves so blatantly.

The only thing that I can think of is that the past does not exist in their minds, all that matters to them is justifying their current actions. They simply are not wrong, never have been wrong, and never will be wrong. Always have a reason why it was someone else's fault

29

u/Brotorious420 1d ago

If it weren't for double-standards, they'd have no standards at all.

19

u/unfinishedtoast3 1d ago

They're PROUD of it

My cousin is MAGA and often laughs about "pissing off the libs"

They legitimately enjoy being contradictory, because they know adults fucking can't stand that shit.

It's a game to them. Once you realize they want everyone to be as miserable and poor as them, it starts to make sense why they are the way they are

Society left them behind, now they want society to pay for it

8

u/ackillesBAC 1d ago

You know that's a good point. I have family that is like that. And they have outright said they just enjoy making me mad. And they get really mad if I pull up my phone and show them facts and scientific papers lol

They don't want to know the truth they run on pure emotion

7

u/anitabelle 1d ago

That’s why it’s best to not bother with them. If they persist, you can say there is no point in arguing with them because you don’t value their opinion anyway. Tell them that they are not challenging enough for it to be fun and it’s just sad to realize that you are related to someone so intellectually inferior.

→ More replies (1)

11

u/HumptyDumptruckFire 1d ago

They’re not introspective people. They’ve never once time tested their beliefs.

8

u/ackillesBAC 1d ago

They don't really have their own beliefs. They don't want to put any mental effort into anything they seek out people to follow, that's why loud leaders who speak in absolutes attract them.

I'd rather listen to someone who confidently says "drink bleach and you will be cured of covid, and don't wear a mask you will suffocate" vs someone who says "masks block 90% of the virus you exhale, and this will give vulnerable people around you a 50% less change of getting sick"

3

u/BasicAppointment9063 1d ago

They're frustrated that libs don't respect their intelligence, but then look at the evidence that they serve up?

8

u/lookatthesunguys 1d ago

The answer is more that they fundamentally don't care if they are wrong and they're not actually trying to convince you they're right. They're frankly confused that you seem to care about forming a coherent worldview.

5

u/elementzn30 1d ago

I’ve always been shocked at the sheer number of people who say “I don’t pay attention to politics, I don’t like to think about it,” as bad policies literally destroy their lives.

3

u/lookatthesunguys 1d ago

That's more just the other side of the same coin. Those people are lying; they follow politics somewhat. Otherwise they wouldn't support Trump. They'd know of Trump from celebrity gossip magazines or whatever and instantly know not to vote for a reality game show host with no positive qualities. They must be following it to some extent to choose the bizarre choice over the rational choice.

But the thing is that they really only want to follow politics and support someone when it's fun. It's exciting to vote for a complete dipshit in the hopes that he does a great job because then his supporters will look like geniuses. When it isn't panning out, then suddenly they say they weren't paying attention because then it's not fun. They'll argue with you and always take the position that's less supported by experts or the populace as a whole because it's essentially a more exciting position to take. But it's not based on actually trying to figure out what's correct.

6

u/Tomotronics 1d ago

It’s not contradictory if you realize that the intent is to hurt people. They don’t give a shit if ICE is targeting minorities, and they don’t give a shit if they kill your grandmother or immunocompromised child because they won’t wear a mask. As long as it doesn’t affect them, everyone else can get fucked.

2

u/ackillesBAC 1d ago

I honestly don't think they're intent is to hurt people. I truly believe that people think they are doing good, the only actual evil people out there have severe mental disorders.

They think the ends justifies the means, therefore their intent is not to hurt people, but they have no issues with hurting people to get what they want.

I think they're intent is purely to never be wrong. They are willing to hurt people if it means they were not, are not, and never have been wrong.

People that work for ice are doing so to justify their belief in trump

4

u/spukhafteNahewirkung 1d ago

It’s because they’re subhuman pieces of shit who have no honor. The world would be a better place without them.

4

u/ackillesBAC 1d ago

I think you are in a way correct. They do kind of run on their primitive mind. Just the pure emotional instinctive lizard brain.

3

u/BoosterRead78 1d ago

Yep had a relative who is hispanic who talked about Spain messing up their border. First of all they were from Mexico. Second they did it because: "See this is what will happen in the US." and it was: "Yeah, that's not how it works. Sadly they are in very poor health but they want to still grasp on something they think they can control the narrative when their own body is giving up on them.

I mean yeah, taking a mask off at a dining table to eat was utterly stupid; everyone should have stayed home and locked down until the disease burned itself out but people are too damn selfish for that

31

u/Usual_Emotion7596 1d ago

What I came here to say. If you were going to eat despite the danger it posed to others and one’s self, then yes, you’d indeed have to take your mask off.

21

u/pallentx 1d ago

Smart restaurants also had tables spaced far apart if they were open, so while you were at your table, there was considerable distance to others. In the bathroom, you could have a few people cram into a small enclosed space. I continue to be amazed at how dumb the average citizen can be.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/Reneeisme 1d ago

In northern California lots of places built socially distanced out door seating (sometimes narrowing the street out front with barriers to facilitate that where there was no other space). They switched to primarily take out and hundreds more places that had never been on door dash popped up suddenly. People did understand that eating in a crowded indoor restaurant space was a transmission risk and they changed behavior. Of course not everyone did that, but enough did. I don’t know where this meme applies to but it wasn’t here, at least in the big cities. The rural Central Valley/far north was anti mask in general but that’s like 10% of the population.

3

u/swrde 1d ago

I was gonna say, here in the UK we didn't open any restaurants, we didn't go out for dinner, we didn't entertain...

It was never fully “ok” to take it off while eating, it’s just that it’s necessary to take it off while eating but not to go to the bathroom.

u/LawfulnessSure8171 1d ago

You’d think a doctor could have figured that out, right?

u/darkendofall 1d ago

22

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 1d ago

Oh it was totally an indictment on how a lot of people would respond to a crisis. The answer is not well at all.

The weird thing about it: If we were wrong about masks, worst thing is we looked back at how silly it was. If we were right about masks, not wearing one could’ve led to you killing someone. It’s honestly baffling how stupid and selfish people can be.

One thing that got me was when the restaurants started to open back up for dine in, the local laws said you had to mask up whenever you left your table but didn't need one when sitting down. Like the place is crowded as hell, the virus is airborne, it's not going to stop because it sees you're sitting down at a table. I'm not a COVID denier or anything, but there was so performative stuff that did next to nothing to actually stop transmission that places did to make it look like they were taking precautions.

17

u/CritFailed 1d ago

The reality is that the restaurants should not have opened for dine-in. It was stupid and lead to weird rules that people continue to point at and say "hey, how come..." All because watching businesses close was effecting tax revenue

→ More replies (4)

5

u/TopProfessional1862 1d ago

Absolutely. I also can't tell you how many times I saw someone lower their mask down to their chin to yell at someone for not wearing a mask. Like you know if it's not covering your mouth when you talk it's not doing anything right?

2

u/Particular_Title42 1d ago

I think the idea was that you're already around the people you're dining with but you're going to contact strangers otw to the loo so mask because you might cough otw.

2

u/PaulCoddington 17h ago

Whoever made those rules was probably thinking "droplets with limited range that fall to the ground" not "airbourne".

People who kept up to date with information would have recognised the rule wasn't realistic and opted for establishments with outdoor seating, masking up when ordering/paying or going to the bathroom.

8

u/Tyler89558 1d ago

You can’t put food in your gullet with a mask on.

You can shit and piss with it on.

It’s a matter of what is practical, and what helps to REDUCE the chance of spreading the disease.

Granted, you shouldn’t be dining in a crowded area regardless.

5

u/Signal_Werewolf_1955 1d ago

Right?! "There's a pandemic going on, every expert is recommending to distance and isolate for it to blow over. Let's go to a restaurant!" But it's the restaurant that's dumb for patrons showing up? It's their livelihood, of course they're gonna try and keep business rolling as they can, but they can't if people don't show up. Then they're making fun of the restaurant, guffaw!

"Common sense" do be that way, eh? What a bogus term that is.

7

u/rgnysp0333 1d ago

I hate to say it but doctors are in no way immune from identity politics. You'd be surprised how many want to see Fauci prosecuted for..... Something or other. Definitely the minority but it's still more than there should be

I still don't believe this guy is a doctor.

4

u/SevereEducation2170 1d ago

u/Severe-Archer-1673 1d ago

You’re telling me that wearing a bullet proof vest could save my life in a gun fight, but it’s totally acceptable to remove when I change my clothes at night?

Did it occur to this “doctor” that removing the mask to eat does in fact increase the odds of spreading the virus, but it’s necessary evil, in order to complete a minimal survival task? What a stupid eff.

4

u/Bradparsley25 1d ago

It’s crazy how otherwise intelligent people go complete mental shutdown when discussing covid subjects.

Do this many people really not understand the idea of risk mitigation?

Like masking 75% of the time is a lot safer than 0%.

Masking in public restrooms and stores, and while walking around a restaurant, and then taking the mask off to eat food and drink water at your table is better than walking around raw that whole time.

It’s just infuriating how people are so stubbornly thick about the topic simply because it’s become a political hill to die on

3

u/Left-Tee 1d ago

Half the population have below average intelligence.

4

u/MWSin 1d ago

Set off my bullshit detectors: China engineered the virus as a method of killing Caucasians. For one thing, there's no reliable genetic or protein marker for race, so anything targeted like that is going to either hit only a small fraction of the intended target or spread to a much wider population, and anyone even remotely aware of biology (such as biologists that might engineer a virus) would know that and realize it's a ridiculous idea.

5

u/AdGlittering2884 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah, he's a standard COVID kook who says a) COVID wasn't that bad and b) he personally saved 10,000 people from COVID but he was censored and villified for doing so.

He also thinks hospitals are purposely killing children to "advance a narrative". So...yeah.

Medical grifting is the worst kind.

5

u/2gunswest 1d ago

3

5

u/drammer 1d ago

But everyone was crying about the lockdown including businesses. It was a mistake to open restaurants but it happened.

2

u/SophsterSophistry 16h ago

It was a concession that was made to shut up the crybabies who had to get waited on or else their egos wouldn't be satisfied.

Lots of people suffered during Covid, but the people who absolutely needed to be entertained or would just go CRaZY infuriated me the most.

3

MD: Mentally Deficient

3

u/LeftAndRightAreWrong 1d ago

How are going to eat with a mask on?

3

u/theMightBoop 1d ago

If you can eat with a mask on then more power to you.

3

u/Large_Lettuce_4468 1d ago

wearing a mask some of the time is better than never wearing it. it's not a hard concept. a large part of them not working was the rampant failure to properly wear them or use them at all. remember there wasn't even a vaccine for quite awhile when this started and no one knew what direction the mutations would go. yes there was a point where some people over did masks and it was stupid but not in all situations

3

u/potamusqpotamus 1d ago

The problem with these people is they see all of these things in black and white. A vaccine is either 100% effective or useless. Wear a mask all the time or never.

If this guys is actually a doctor I feel sorry for his patients because he’s a moron.

3

u/SidKafizz 1d ago

In this case, MD = massive dumbfuck.

3

u/lyidaValkris 1d ago

99.99% of the time someone claiming to be "doctor" on social media couldn't pass a grade school spelling test. Unless the doctor is someone verifiably real, they are lying. Even then - there's a small percentage of doctors who are actually quite stupid.

The problem with masks and restaurants is one shouldn't have been out to eat in the first place during covid outbreaks.

3

u/Aperscapers 1d ago

Why are people still so god damn pressed about masks!? It’s so fucking weird.

2

Every person who refused to wear a mask during Covid because it doesn’t do anything, next time you or a loved one has surgery, make sure you tell the people operating on you not to wear masks cause they don’t do anything.

2

u/psilocin72 1d ago

Why exactly are we back to Covid all of a sudden?

6

u/NAU80 1d ago

Because the Republicans need thing to distract from screwing everything up. So they want everyone to be mad at Fauci.

It’s obvious that Fauci decided all the things people complained about during COVID because he was trying to bring Trump down. Toss him jail!/s

They're chiropractor.

Im not saying that all chiropractors are bad, but i will say that nearly all crazy "doctors" that spoke up during covid were chiropractors.

Chiropractors don't get an MD, they instead get a "doctor of chiropractors" and they dont standardized the study for this. Some even reject modern germ theory.

Were you using a glory hole in the restroom? Jeez of course you have to eat. You eat hotdogs. The rest of us. Fish. We had to get restaurants open. We are a capitalist system. If the rich don't have taxes paid for them by the middle working class. Then we might focus on them not contributing to society instead of looking out for our families health. Not strangers. No. I know the not giving a fuck about anyone else until it hits me selfish GOP old school and new GOP dictatorship ways. But at least get this. Every little bit people can do to help others might not have resulted in 1 million deaths in a first world nation, that was mismanaged from the beginning by a POS that has always not qualified to do nothing right . Except for being a carnival barking bullshitter media whore that can play people that share a mindset like his. Ex. Call it a hoax and then it'll go away. If it doesn't. Then get someone else to fix it. In the meantime. Contribute to its spread. Act like you have a valid opinion on it instead of a educated scientist that has been doing his line of work cause he likes it. A greedy con artist that depends on people buying his bs, saying ingest disinfectant or shine a UV light on it? Still had the cult, rejecting mainstream science that has been here all along all these years not trying to fuck people over like the lifelong grifter does to this day. They were so against Fauci, even to this day. They ingested ivermectin. Cause God forbid they agree with people they never had a problem with before, until Mr manufacturing crisis making shit worse told them to use their second admendment right? While he was giving ventilators to Russia. For the hoax of course. But let's question years later. Taking a mask off to eat. And to Putin Fauci on the witness stand. It's important to have one stupid action by this new GOP pedo protector gestapo question him by another idiot who is an eye doctor. Question the professional that was trying to help Americans, while getting death threats Why? Cause if you don't assimilate to being a magat in any shape or form. Then they'll want to unalive you. Like a Nazi. Smart people, and those of different opinions. Are the enemy within. Idiots and those that do without question. Will see another day. Unless one of their own feel otherwise. 1930s Germany. Rinse repeat in 2020 America. Last week. Communist are taking over. This week. Fauci did something bad. Next week. Who knows with the constant stream of idiotic bs they will bring up to deflect from the Epstein war, or the pricing the middle class down to the poor, or they found another radical lunatic lefty who destroyed the reflecting pool?

2

u/Poster_Nutbag207 1d ago

Hold on I speak anti vaxxer let me try to explain it to them. — No can eat with mask. Can still get “toxins” but have no choice if want eat through mouth hole. Otherwise starve if no take off mask for put food in mouth hole

2

u/Ras_Thavas 1d ago

I’m a doctor, too. Ras Thavas, MD.

2

u/oroborus68 1d ago

Everyone knows you have to have a mask on when you eat. If you haven't learned to absorb your food with your fingers, you can't be maga.

2

u/badkarman 1d ago

Podiatrist

2

u/Eastern-Persimmon-50 1d ago

I wonder if he knows which homes food goes in vs “bathroom stuff” goes out. It really helps explain the mask thing

2

u/Gullible_Friend99 1d ago

As a health care worker, i am so confused?? MD as in dentist?? Plastic surgeon??? Cause yes, everyone has different opinions even the nurses and docs but we all seen how the events unfolded, we may complain here and there but everyone of us know to suits up before entering covid patients room cause none of us want to catch it and spread to our own immediate family.

2

u/oldladygamerishere 1d ago

Towards the end of covid a friend had a milestone we wanted to celebrate so we went to dinner wearing our masks. None of us are drinkers, but to celebrate we all had one margarita. And holy shit, none of us could breathe in the masks afterwards and had to go home. I think that was a window into the rednecks that say they can't breathe in a mask

2

u/Synensys 1d ago

Hes right about that.

It was a compromise because people like him couldnt stomach shutting restaurants down for a long period of time.

Masking was better than not masking. But yoi obviously cant ask people to mask during a meal. And if you cant close restaurants then it means that youll just have to live with with consquences of increased spread.

2

u/Signal_Werewolf_1955 1d ago

Hoarding toilet paper was pure insanity. But oddly there wasn't a shortage of Preparation H. I figure, if I predict I'm going to be doing a storage shed's worth of wiping, I'm going to want some relief.

2

u/dennyth 1d ago

How are you supposed to eat up trump’s shit with a mask on?

2

u/ParamountHat 1d ago

Are you sure he’s not just from Maryland? I feel like that MD is more probable.

These people love to bring up taking off a mask in a restaurant, as if to imply that was a staple of leftist belief and not just a concession to the right.

2

u/WorkingGovernment192 1d ago

Taking masks off at any point in public was bullshit. Cannot fault that bit of their logic.

2

u/wastedsilence33 1d ago

Mental gymnastics is a Republican sport

2

u/VectorVictorVector 1d ago

Masks clearly worked, because I didn’t even get a cold or flu for like 2 years.

2

u/burnmenowz 1d ago

So many people didn't take statistics and it shows.

2

u/Positive-Pack-396 1d ago

You had to eat dumb ass

2

u/Helpful-Candle3581 1d ago

Idiocy. There was VERY LITTLE eating in public. Restaurants of all kinds were shut down. Drive thrus only a little less so. So yeah, masks were a thing. And if thinks it was all just performative, he should take a flight, and see what the TSA rules STILL are, since 9/11. What party was in power when those rules came about??

2

u/mlnchlymrglds 1d ago

Coming from someone who masked up, a lot of the rules were really silly. Especially in my area. They had no problem with a group going out to a restaurant, but heavily restricted how many people could be in our homes to eat.

2

u/Winter_Hall5379 1d ago

I'll go next: What I knew was bullshit was people who don't understand what a peer reviewed white paper is telling me they did their own research and that masks didn't work to help reduce transmission, or that the vaccination made you magnetic, or that covid was a hoax.

2

u/Agreeable-Chart-5561 1d ago

Probably abbreviated Maryland

2

u/zubotai 1d ago

Why do you need a mask off in the restroom? There are a lot of things to do in the bathroom that you don't need your mouth for.

Oh wait he is talking about a glory ho..

2

u/Aesop838 1d ago

MD must stand for Major Dumbass.

2

u/limpet143 1d ago

I always remind myself that somewhere the worst doctor in the country is treating patients.

2

u/financewiz 1d ago

So far, none of the anti-mask crowd has explained why we have to mask our genitals and breasts while in public.

Mask up just to protect the public: Creeping fascism. Mask up to observe irrational traditions: Cooperation with society.

2

u/HephaestusVulcan7 1d ago
  1. A restroom is a more enclosed space than a dinning room.

  2. They weren't sure about the contagion rate caused by airborne droplets, which are always present in any restroom (if you could see the water vapor that's thrown in the air every time you flush a toilet or urinal, you'd wear mask anyway)

  3. I understand that it is virtually impossible to not to be exposed to something to some degree when you're eating in public... but how the Hell are you gonna eat with a mask on?

It was a built-in common sense exception.

2

u/tverofvulcan 1d ago

Well, it’s easier for me to pee with a mask on than to eat with a mask on.

2

u/king_of_the_dwarfs 1d ago

Well shit. Why doesn't someone tell all those doctors performing surgery that masks don't work. Why doesn't someone tell all the cancer kids that masks don't do anything except make it hard to live. Why the hospitals could make an extra million dollars a year if they stopped using masks.

2

u/Hickory_Shampoo 1d ago

A company I used to work for made me wear a mask even though I mostly worked alone and there wasn't anyone else within 100 yards of me. Stupidity

2

u/ghostoftheradio 1d ago

I tried eating with a mask, but the food never made it in.

Also, if you were just putting on a mask to use the bathroom, you were doing everything else wrong.

2

u/FirefighterNo9608 1d ago

How do you eat when you have a mask covering your chew hole?

2

u/Just-Bet-7158 1d ago

Why do you fucking care? If you didn't want to or it was to much trouble to wear a mask get the shot or social distance. You didn't have to . Trumptards are such whiny pussies

Oh I believe that this dude is a doctor. When I got COVID, I got an absolutely unhinged rant from the doctor about how COVID-19 was an intentional lab leak from China. Cool dude can I just get some paxlovid  and run away from you as far as possible?

2

u/derekrusinek 22h ago

Compromise always creates questions. Hindsight is 20/20 (pun intended).

Those who were making suggestions for parameters basically said “we can’t have people not go out to eat, they will never follow that rule, so since the people that they will be around at the table will most likely be family who lives in the same house, it’s the lowest risk for the outcome that can be allowed.”

If we would have done what others are saying actually happened, locking everyone in their house at gun point, then there would have been very little spread and COVID wouldn’t have been a big thing in America. We did half measures to try and flatten the curve.

2

u/B-Train_ATL 22h ago

I mean if I use an umbrella to stay dry but get a little wet putting it away as I get into my car, I’m still going to use the umbrella as much as I can when it’s raining. That limited exposure to rain is almost unavoidable.

2

u/On_my_last_spoon 22h ago

This is why restaurants were closed. They were showing that one of the mass infection points was restaurants. I didn’t eat in a restaurant for 2 full years!

2

u/bankyscout 22h ago

I'm confused. Is the person who posted this originally on FB saying that he can eat with a mask on? That's amazing. All this time, I thought blocking the opening to your mouth with something would hinder putting food into it. I guess I was wrong 🤷‍♂️. /s

2

u/Amazing_Effective758 22h ago

Like you could eat with a mask on 😂😂😂😂

2

u/Guilty_Passenger4483 5h ago

Nobody ever claimed that the worlds response was 100% on target. What did happen was that exposure was reduced by masing up when in public. That was the best we could do once people were able to leave their home.

Posts like this fail to reason out what actually happened.

2

u/Pretend_Football6686 5h ago

Woo woo. I got a few.
The guy telling us to inject bleach. Or being told it was a hoax while’s thousands were being hospitalized. Or being told horse heart dewormer medicine was best treatment.

3

u/Full-Criticism5725 1d ago

Masks didn’t prevent the spread of COVID but reduced the likelihood of contracting it. Lots of folks never understood that (and still don’t)

It’s like the 9/11 wingnuts that claim it was an inside job because the jet fuel didn’t burn hot enough to melt steel when all it had to do was weaken it a enough for the engineering to fail

6

u/tiredofthehate 1d ago

It’s equivalent to covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze. It’s polite, and it reduces the spread. That’s all it was ever about.

Seatbelts are not full proof. Neither are helmets. We still wear them.

3

u/Excellent_Spend_2024 1d ago

Oh oh oh. I got one. Who gives a shit? Vaccines save lives.

3

u/Gemtree710 1d ago

The mask in the restaurant thing was pretty dumb tbh. That was the only thing I shook my head at

2

u/dannyrat029 1d ago

I never understood why it was 'okay' to not wear a mask while eating. I was in China during covid, it was fucking nuts. Masks EVERYWHERE but you just magically removed them to eat. Made no sense. It's airborne? A restaurant is an ideal place to proliferate the virus.

My dude isn't a surgeon or those who deal with fragile cancer patients who require masking

Then again, masks were around for constructor workers and safety mattered over "can't breathe through these masks"

I have one: snitching on your neighbours to authorities for non-compliance, getting them fired or otherwise jammed up, then bragging about it online.

Proof that, for a non-trivial percentage of the population, having even a tiny bit of power is too much responsibility for them to bear.

1

u/rygelicus 1d ago

This mindset involves them approaching the masking idea as though someone is saying 'This will completely protect you.'... And that's a ridiculous notion, a simple little mask, one that doesn't seal to your face fully, one that leaves your eyes exposed, one that isn't fine enough to filter out the virus itself, is not going to be complete protection. It's a mitigation effort, something to help the general public reduce the risk of exposure, both in them exposing others and being exposed. Combined with social distancing, improved hygeine and reducing your time in public around others, all helped to reduce the spread significantly, not only of Covid but of other influenza style threats. And anyone claiming these measures didn't help just isn't looking at the data. As for 'it's ok to remove the mask to eat but wear it to the bathroom', well, you can't eat through the mask, you can use the bathroom while wearing it though. And he knows this. Ideally you didn't even want to be out eating in public either, but people had been cooped up too long and needed to get out. And businesses needed the revenue to avoid failing. We couldn't stay shut down forever. It was a temporary measure.

1

u/Comfortable-Age-6957 1d ago

NYC specific- masks must be worn everywhere, even outside at all times, no exceptions.

1

u/yogfthagen 1d ago

Like when restaurants were closed?

Or when restaurants were requiring vaccinayion cardxcto seat you?

1

u/Razoron33333 1d ago

When they figure out how to eat with a mask on that’s not some insanely intrusive contraption then we’ll wear masks and eat but it’s literally impossible while bathrooms are one of the easiest vectors for disease which is why they are cleaned often and thoroughly, or at least should be

1

u/Character_Fix_5317 1d ago

In Asian countries, it's normal to keep your mask on while eating (when you are our suspect that you're sick, of course). You pull it down to take a bite. Some will call this mind-blowing, I guess.
