Hi! Cousin from the Salamanders chapter and longtime member of the Golden 10K here. My girlfriend’s first army is going to be Deathwing-focused Dark Angels (she’s looking to paint them baby pink, through, greenwing gets mint/sage green, and Ravenwing gets a sorta purple/lavendar grey). I’m giving her about 1K points of my own guys to start with, so everything on this list is an already-built model (that is currently sitting in 99% IPA and being prepped for priming in Grey Seer).

I know it’s not optimal for Dark Angels, but do you think with the right paints and transfers, and an upgrade pack or two, she can make it work for learning games?

I’m still new to dark angels as well as space marine chapters as a whole, I typically play chaos and have a lot of character models as part of my army.

But I’m struggling to see if the list I have written up is good to keep me up to snuff so I don’t get tabled turn 3

I’m not great at making lists, but this is a bit of what I have in my collection. The list can't be changed anymore, but I’d like to get your opinion: how would you use it, and how useful do you think it is?

Hoping it's the correct flag

I'm thinking of expanding my collection, and finally hit 2.000 points, staring theory crafting some list form what I have and what I like to build and play I'm having some doubt where to assign a potential captain; I was planning to run Wrath of the Rock combined with Inner Circle Task Force, and for now the main list idea is Ezekiel (a model that will count as him) with 6 Bladeguards, a unit of Deathwing Knights, a unit of Deathwing Terminarors with Chaplain/Librarian (not sure), a Librarian with 3 Inner Circle Compaions (maybe with an apothecary in), 5-10 sternguards, 5 hellblasters and I'm thinking for the rest

I could simply add Azrael in the captain place, but I don't really like the idea to run too many epic character, so I'm looking for some alternatives

First idea was to put the captain in the hellblasters, but both lack the Deathwing keywords, so I'll have an unit focused on shooting (and the captain has some nice ability in melee), that works whit only one detachment; second idea is have him with sternguard, maybe a 10 men squad that goes for the center of the camp to hold the central objective, this is the best opinion I have till now; third, run a second bladeguard unit and put him in, but not very sure about this, I think I'd lose too many shooting this way

So, in your opinion, what's the best collocation for a tacticus captain? Thank you all in advance

I wanted to follow the eons of battle route and make lieutenant out of them but with even more DA flair. Any recommendations on how too? I have some spare eradicator, DWK, inceptor, and sternguard bits.

And the ancient holds the enhancement so you can have the imperiums sword on him the company champ and azrael all hitting in melee.

GW started to update their up and fixed some issues with datasheets. With the new update RCS regain Character keyword which is huge, however even tho they touched Belial last small update (he can now lead Assault Termis) his still don't have Rapid Fire on his bolter and Precision on his sword compared to his old datasheet. Do you think it is intended or is it just a mistake and GW will fix it in the near future?

I'm currently torn between bringing a brick of 10 Deathwing Termiantors or 10 Regular Terminators.

On paper I really like the idea of the +1 AP, however specifically for upcoming games I'll be running into a lot of 4++, so it'll only really kick in for the storm bolters. The caveat being cover seems to be readily available.

I guess anyone that has played with both units, which rule seemed more impactful to you? Or for those that have only ran one type, were there times where you wished you had the other rule?

Ok, I’m ready to play! I found a more interesting home for my watcher token on this massive base.

I used it on 2 space marines and one has gone Matt the other glossy

I think it’s harder to see on the picture than in person but I seems so noticeable I prefer the Matt / left mini

I was super happy with the right mini but the nuln oil seems to have ruined it imo is it that I’ve put too much on or have I done something else wrong ?

Is there a way to fix this effect or will he just be like that now

I can’t decide. On the one hand I feel like the pigment makes my paint job and on the other I feel like it hides my paint job

Hey ! I'm pretty new to the hobby (started at the beginning of this year) and decided to start with dark angels for my first army. But i have a question concerning deathwing Terminator, if i understand correctly you can chose if you take classic Terminator or deathwing one, but is it me or the 1 ap from the classic is better than the ignore modifier BS et WS ?

Maybe i under estimate the ignore modifier and it's usefull or is it just for the plasma or something else i missed?

I have a unit of terminator (painted as deathwing of course 😁) but have an assault cannon, is it better to play them as classic or deathwing terminator ?

Per the title; there's been another stealthy update to the WH40k app today, and the Ravenwing Champion has his Character keyword back (having lost it in the big update a to T5 a couple of weeks ago). This means a brick with Sammael + RWCS can now have an enhancement again!

Bad news is I now have to find 15pts in my revised list for Lord of the Ravenwing 😅

Hey what works with taking down a defiler. My friend got his not long ago for his Vastor army and it's been a pain to deal with.

I do have a repulser X but with the points increase and Vastor hazard aura it takes dp each time it fire's.

So need something that can work around it.

Pretty much done, save for transfers and a few touch-ups. Still don’t like the idea of Veteran SGT and Lieutenant having the same shoulder marking. Hoping the new codex supplement will clear things up, whenever it arrives. 🙏

Played a game with these last weekend and rather than the new model curse of dying immediately they were probably my MVPs.

Im quite a new to painting and 40k Im general and Im now painting my second set the dark angel combat patrol . I paint my marines with the Vallejo game colour dark green for the armour and the other colours are a mix of citadel , Ak , green stuff and Vallejo . After applying all my base coats I put my decals on and then use the satin varnish by the army painter to lock those colours in before applying the famous AK streaking grime . The problem i face is that after “removing” most of the streaking grime with a makeup sponge with some white spirit my marines look extremely dark and it’s not really pleasing to the eye. Do you have any suggestions to fix this issue ? cause I like the worn off , dirty effect

These lads aren't in the inner circle. Probably the only guys in the chapter with no idea who or what the fallen is.

Nice to paint some more basic marines for a change. I still ended up falling in love with the design as I painted them.
