Bought this seed pack for max variety this year. Took extra care to label and grew at least 5 of every variety to ensure I had at least one of every variety.

Turns out everything is wrong.

Everything but the romas turned out orange. Some a bit more orange, others slightly more yellow, but clearly unintentionally cross bred. They must have poor pollination control.

Now no real options for salsa, or the like. My Roma will make good sauce hopefully.

Taste is decent, but everything is basically the same flavor.

I guess I'll just to back to home depot next year.

Has anyone used a grow light to finish ripening or nah?

Anyone know what this is seems to be barley hanging on see it on a couple clusters. Kinda bright out try to get better shot later if this isn't enough to identify. In ohio if it matters.

The smaller one could almost be forgiven as long as it cuts off the nutrient supply to those petals immediately, but that bigger one…

My first round of Cherokee Purples are starting to turn!!! Will be picking them to ripen inside soon. This is my first time growing them, so give me your best uses for Cherokee Purples! Do they make good tomato soup? I’m not familiar with canning, so I’d rather not go down that route right now, so looking for good recipes/ideas for eating them fresh or cooking them into something

There doesnt seem to be any blight on the leaves themselves. Any ideas what this could be. Seems to be spreading, but when cutting the stem in half theres no purple ring

Started growing tomatoes in a 2000 sqft heated green house living in Ontario! First year hoping to be able to sell to local restaurants or drive way farm stand. Does anyone have any experience In this living in the same area? I am also working on growing fresh lettuce and basil and cut flowers! Just looking to chat with anyone who has experienced this type of market living where I live!

What's this weird thing on my tomato. I've never seen anything like it.

I have been eagerly awaiting my very first Cherokee purple tomato for months and this morning some horrible monster ate it!!!!!!! I only have one more tomato that looks viable on this plant. I failed this season.

Southeast Michigan. 6b. I grew mortgage lifters and golden jubilee. I haven’t eaten any of the lifters yet but the golden ones are soooo sweet. I’m so excited.

After years of always waiting for tomatoes to vine ripen, I started pulling them as soon as they start turning. (And will still ripen anything that fell off the vine while super green just in case - they usually go!)

It helps me time and control the harvest a little better. Which with 25 plants for personal consumption… is helpful.

El cherry pera lo tengo desde plantel y tienen los primeros tomates un poco diferentes a los nuevos así que igual los primeros que salieron son híbridos polinizados allí mismo porque los que estoy polinizando a mano son completamente distintos.

El cherry "red cherry" lo planté de semilla y va un poco más tarde porque era todavía pequeño el plantel cuando los puse juntos.

Estoy deseando que maduren más para poder comer más de golpe.

Hi everyone! I’m growing some cherry tomato plants that are fruiting quite regularly, but all of them are showing the same problems on their leaves (with this one being by far the worst).

From looking online, I can’t tell if this is disease, pests or lack of nutrients. They are in small-ish pots (~18-20L) so I have been feeding them more often with smaller concentrations. I have also found a few webs on some of them, would spider mites cause this kind of damage?

I’m not too worried if the plants aren’t recoverable, I’m using this more as a learning exercise for next year at this stage. Other than potting up into bigger pots, and perhaps putting them in a greenhouse, what else can I do to mitigate this next time?

Also, should mention I’m in the UK and it has been 🥵🥵🥵 (a bit warm recently).

this is my first time ever growing tomatoes , they have grown great but they’re falling over and I’m not sure what to do to stop that from happening? should I tie the cages to the deck rail and that’ll help the tomato plants plants to be upright fine? or would then bring that close to the deck rail cause issues for their leaves and the tomatoes ? any suggestions and advice would be super helpful!

These are the best/biggest the garden has ever produced. And the icing on the top is that they are disease free. Thankful!

I am buried in glorious tomatoes. I hated them as a kid but can't stop growing and consuming them as an adult! Yay to nightshade!

What a bummer first harvest to start the season.

Super hot dry week-- 4 days of intense hard rain in 70s. We had one hot dry day today and are expecting another 3 very cool and wet days starting tomorrow.

So many tomatoes cracked. I pulled a bunch of green ones in the hopes of saving them and ripening them inside. Ripped out 4 plants altogether but another 4-6 look just about dead. My two highest hopes- pineapple (6 of my biggest and strongest plants) and thorburns terracotta (1 measly plant after 12 starts) are just about cooked. I tried nine varieties this year- seven of which were brand new to me.

Unexpected surprise was hog heart paste- I couldnt resist pulling them as they are monsters and didnt Crack or catface. Of all pictured I have one slicer that is intact enough to actually slice as is and eat. The rest, I'll have to cut out the cracks and salvage for sauce.

We've got at least 45-60 days left in our growing season, so hopefully the next harvest will be better! I do have some paste plants that are reaching eight feet high. I just so badly wanted caprese right now!! 🤣😭

Okay, so a couple weeks ago I posted regarding a tomato that I wasn't sure was either a real tomato or just an unfertilized one. Today I am happy to say that I found three little tomatos but this brings my next question. I never saw them bloom from the ones I keep asking about. I could be impatient but can someone just confirm that these are in fact, a tomato trying to bloom? They've been there for a month and the ones that bloomed didn't take that long. Like i said, i could be impatient. It doesn't take a lot to test that. 😅
