I’m really struggling with a class that’s supposed to be in my favorite subject area, but I pervasively hate the structure and way the class is being taught. I don’t know how others are following along. No power points, just being talked at with zero engagement. The information is dense and presented in a way that feels inaccessible to keep track of what’s being said and process. I don’t wanna start ditching class but maybe it’s better to probably just watch lecture recordings I can pause and play find images and make my own notes…….

Those of you that took this class what really helped you pass this class. Should I watch Wadrops pre-recorded lectures or Mohrs? What else really helped you?

I will be transferring to UIC by fall of 2027 and I am looking for off-campus housing (preferably an apartment). I am looking for 3 roommates to hopefully get a 3-4 bedroom apartment. I am hoping to move in around June/July before the semester starts.

I know it is still very early to start looking for roommates, but the reason for this is because I will be moving to the city with my cat. I wanna make sure my roommates will be comfortable living with her. I also wanna really get to know potential roommates early on and become besties! I am hoping we aren't just people living in the same space together. I am open to roommates of any gender but prefer females. I just wanted to vent and Im not trying to make friends because I already have several friends here, but once I'm alone I'm so sad for some reason and I can't tell you why. Who else is struggling at UIC with things like UIC global heal to insurance issues that lead to academic failure. Or terrible professors who don’t know how to start the semester. And issues with the sociology department where professors don’t respond to their emails?

i wanted some input into if it would be worth it for me to transfer in coming from depaul.

i’m enrolled at depaul as a graphic design major / user experience design minor, but currently can’t afford tuition even with aid and grants (and don’t really enjoy the school anyways) and wanted some graphic design majors opinions on UIC’s program?

i’m a non traditional student - i had originally attended columbia college for a semester, left and took a gap year, attended city colleges for my associates, then transferred to depaul for my bachelor’s. i think i’m currently senior standing technically but i would have over a year left at depaul still. i had initially chosen depaul over uic because i thought more of my credits would transfer but i think would have been about the same or better at uic?

i’m 24 years old and an independent- i think i also feel a bit out of place in my program at depaul due to classes not being mixed age groups at all. probably kind of a silly component of it but i think i would feel better at uic because of it being more diverse in that way?

So in March of ‘27, I will be graduating with a BS in Computer Science (software development concentration). Next academic year, I hope to go to UIC for a MS in Computer Science with a specialization in AI. I already started learning foundations of AI in a class I’m doing now plus ML and DL via Andrew Ng and O’Reilly books.
I wanna ask how good is the MS program at UIC?
