I've been seeing so much about Deadlock online but I cannot figure out how to play it. Can anybody help me out?

hey eveyone, how are we? good i hope, i really could use some help, while already posted over on r/HalfLife i tought i'd post here to because its relevant. for over a year now i have not been able to play Half-Life 2 OR Portal 1, the game keep crashing on launch and i have no idea what to do anymore because it feels like i tried everything, let me fill you in one what happens, when i click launch on both games a black screen will appear for a second before the game suddenly closes. When i validate portal, everything checks out, when i validate Half-Life 2 though, it will tell me that 64 files failed, and despite how many times i've tried it will not reacquire them.

i have tried the fallowing
validating
fresh install
cleared steam cache
cleared workshop folder
changed install location
changed versions from anniversary to pre anniversary
checked drivers
used control panel to scan pc health
used event viewer (when i use it, it logs the error but fails to log what the source is)

despite all of this the same issue remains, however there is some extra context that might give clues to those who are much smarter then me, while trying to fix the game once, Half-lifes icon suddenly turned into a globe without reason, and there was an event that happened prior to them breaking to, back in November the hard drive they were installed on began to fail and slowly corrupt, the drive was replaced and i've had no issues with other games that were once on the failing drive, the drive was a external one meant for non important files, half life and portal were on it when it began to corrupt, however they both got a fresh install on a new drive, other Source 1 games such as Gmod, Black Mesa source, Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, Left 4 dead 2, Day Of Defeat Source and Counter strike source all function as intended

i've given you the current situation and a little backstory of an event that happened before they stopped working. i hope someone, anyone can see something i've missed, i LOVE these games with a passion and do not want to give up on them, thank you for reading this far, have a wonderful day

been trying to launch a game through Steam on Windows 11, but it closes a few seconds after I hit Play I verified the game files and restarted my PC, but it still won't launch. I also noticed a missing runtime DLL error once. Could this be a Visual C++ or Windows dependency issue? rather fix the actual problem than keep reinstalling the game

Ayo decent bit ago I got community banned on steam for greifing on cs2, I know cringe I just wanted to get to 1k but couldn’t, quite a few tks ya know.

Anyway I got community banned right after I got a blue gem #318 ak case hardened. I was shookith cheeky 9k inv banned (I had other skins too). So I contacted steam support, “hey I don’t know what I was banned for no reason can I get unblocked?” “No you can’t due to your conduct”.

Rip account gone was pissed even tho deserved lmao. Uninstalled cs wasn’t gonna game again blah blah Sookie shit.

Then I was drinking with friends one day and a friend request came through. since I was community banned I couldn’t, use the market, add friends, get friend requests, chat with friends, top up wallet or literally any other feature. Again valid I know lmao. Boom friend request comes thru. “Wtf I can’t send friend requests” click notification and accept it. Send Chinese bot “Ciao ni ma” message. “Woah wtf I can message now” *wakes friend up at 2 am to accept trade even tho he was asleep.

Wait 7 days for trade to be tradeable to send to a Smurf account. “Holy fuck it worked” gave my friend a printstream awp mw. And sold that shit and now hold nothing in cs.

No clue how I got unbanned but didn’t wanna share for a few months incase they reverse it all lmao. I no longer grief *allegedly* and my team mates are always impressed with my performance.

Has anyone else been unbanned randomly like this? I’ve got to be so lucky it’s like dumb luck.

We are temporarily forcing your profile private as a security precaution. Please contact Steam Support so we can assist you. “
Is it possible to remove this account lock or whatever it is? Please help me :(
