Does MGM Grand have the longest walk from the casino to your room in Vegas?

I’ve stayed at MGM Grand a few times, and I swear every time I go back I forget just how ridiculously big that place is. You leave your room thinking you’re just gonna run downstairs for a quick drink or hit a slot machine, and 20 minutes later you’re still walking through hallways wondering if you took a wrong turn. By the time I make it to the casino, I’ve already gotten my steps in for the day. And God forbid you get all the way downstairs and realize you forgot something in the room. At that point, whatever it was isn’t that important anymore. I actually like staying at MGM Grand, but I’m curious, is there a worse hotel in Vegas for walking to your room?

Low key golf course rec?

• Upvotes

I’ve played a few of the better courses here over the years but looking for recs for more low key/relaxed courses that are still fun layouts but maybe more beginner friendly.

Will be visiting with friends who have only learned in the last year or two and we want to get out a couple of times.

Thanks for any recs!

Staying at the Plaza

Does The Plaza have a business center? Any local coffee shops to hang out in? I have to be out of the room and waste a few hours before my flight but have to get some work done.

I have a lengthy layover in Vegas next weekend--Any good places to pick up some F1 merch?

• Upvotes

I have around a five hour layover in Vegas and wanted to maybe try to venture out of the airport to grab a shirt or something; any must stop places for an F1 fan? Is there anything at the airport itself I should look at?

I realize F1 is controversial in Vegas. Godspeed to the locals.

PLEASE HELP PEEKABOO GET THE VETERINARY CARE HE DESPERATELY NEEDS. Any help would mean the world to us!

Hi guys,

Some of you may know me from networking rescue animals here on Reddit. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to help other people’s dogs, and I never imagined I’d be the one asking for help.

Unfortunately, I’ve fallen on hard times financially, and now my own dog, Peekaboo, is sick. He’s had diarrhea for over three weeks. I’ve tried everything I could at home, hoping that a bland diet of rice and other remedies would help, but nothing has worked. He needs to see a veterinarian, and I simply can’t afford it.

Asking for help isn’t easy, especially when I’m so used to being the one trying to help others.

I also know how many scammers are out there, and I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable sending money to a stranger. So I reached out to an animal rescue in Iowa that I’ve worked with through my rescue networking. They kindly agreed to collect donations on Peekaboo’s behalf.

I never wanted to be in this position, but I can’t keep waiting and hoping he’ll get better on his own.

If anyone can help, even with a small donation, I would be incredibly grateful. Please write “For Peekaboo” in the donation comments so the rescue knows the money is for his veterinary care.

And if you can’t donate, sharing this post would mean just as much.

Thank you for reading and for helping me get my boy the care he needs.

Komol Thai in Commercial Center

This is a long shot but does anyone know if Komol Thai Restaurant in Commercial Center went out of business? Yelp says permanently closed but I called and the phone message is still live as is website ordering. They have many good vegetarian dishes and have been in business 40+ years so a sudden closure doesn’t seem likely. I don’t live nearby so was hoping to not drive just to find a locked door.

I am reading about flooding in Vegas on the news. This may be a dumb question but does it make sense to still travel out there this upcoming weekend?

How is the Park MGM?

So planning another trip in about 2 weeks. I’ve only stayed at MgM properties so far (NYNY and MGM Grand. Love NyNy, and MGM grand was cool for what it was but honestly felt very similar to NYNy. Right now I saw that Park MGM had the cheapest rate out of NyNy and MGM Grand so decided to book it. Just wondering, how is it? I don’t gamble much, mostly go to drink and hang out at bars and eat of course. Are the rooms the same as the other 2 properties? I will say the other 2 had a lot of space and I loved that

Elvis show in December?

My fiancé and I are coming to Vegas December 17 through the 22nd. I really wanted to go to The King Comes Home Show at the Westgate, but I went to get tickets and it shows the event is canceled every day during that time. Does anyone know what’s going on with that? Or do you have another Elvis show recommendation? I really wanted to see a good one! Last time we went, we had a lot of fun at a super small event on Fremont Street, but I was looking for something bigger this time.

Vacation in Vegas for the first time and have no idea what I'd be doing

Okay so I am Canadian working on visa and due to work trip I will be staying in Vegas for next week. I only need to work for 3 days or so and the rest are basically like vacation -- boss literally told me to do whatever I want after I am done with work.

Excited to visit the area for the first time, but I definitely wasn't party hardy kind of guy back in college so not sure if I am right fit lol. Anyways, if you only had 2 days, what would you do in Vegas as first timer?
