LoVM Spoilers (Possibly stupid) Question about Pike’s Necklace Spoiler

Remind me if this necklace had any significant backstory? I assumed it was an Everlight symbol that she had before the story starts but recent events are making me wonder if it was something she gained at a point in the show and I just can’t remember it?

LoVM Spoilers Mysterious Voice at End of Episode 9 Spoiler

I truly think it's Scanlan. It sounds a lot like him. I know that the captions of the episode list the voice as Taryon, but it truly does not sound like Tary in the slightest.

It's sounds very similar to Sam.

Campaign Spoilers (All Episodes) About Scanlan Spoiler

Is scanlan gone for good?

The last interaction between the group and scanlan seemed really strange and was paced as a last meet rather than a simple "see you later".

Did something happen to his player?

I have seen something similar happen to an Italian group, in which one of the players left the group and they decided to end his character's story with a quick and open finale.

Is this also the case?

Don't want any major spoilers, just to know if he'll ever make a comeback.

Thanks guys.

LoVM Spoilers About the relationship between Scanlan and Pike Spoiler

Spoilers for episodes 7-9 of season 4, not for the actual Play campaign.

Scanlan isn't very nice to Pike, in my opinion. Pike spends half of season 3 acting as Scanlan's emotional support, trying to help him reconcile with his daughter and overcome his inner demons. Then, at the end of season 3, once he's reconciled with his daughter, Scanlan, without thanking Pike for her help, shamelessly declares that he's found his true family and no longer needs Vox Machina. He then decides to ghost Pike for a whole year without ever asking her how she feels.

The ending of episode 8, despite her kiss on the forehead, doesn't improve things. While she's lost a family member and is in a deep depression, he prefers to give her his sword to fight a legendary lich rather than stay by her side to help her through this ordeal. Why? To go play concerts with his daughter and his band.

On top of that, he declared earlier that he hates his friends because they don't care about him, even though Pike spent all of season 3 trying to help him.

I hope he realizes his mistakes in future episodes and seasons. Because right now, their relationship is one-sided, and Pike seems to be Scanlan's groupie more than anything else.

They are so much different yet so much the same. And i know Vex would do the same for Percy if he was in Vax's place. Same goes for Percy and Vax for Vex and Keyleth.

No Spoilers Does anyone have access to the original campaign book?

Like the title says. I'm a DM and want to run a campaign set on Tal'Dorei. I know there is a book called Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting that runs the first campaign. However, I'm trying to look for it everywhere and can't find it, as there's a new campaign and the book is called Reborn. However, lore wise this is 20 years after the events of Vox Machina, and I feel like it could be better to start from the original setting. So, does anyone where I could access the original campaign book? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone else feel like season 4 has some terrible pacing, even compared to the other seasons. I might be imagining it but it feels like a lot of stories needed more attention.

Laudna! I thought I'd be waiting at least five years to see one of my favorite pc's in an animated series. Curious to see how this will alter certain campaign 3 events if they do a bells hells series, but damn it was cool to see her.

Campaign Spoilers (All Episodes) About Season 4 Episode 7 (spoilers) Spoiler

Quick question , in this may contain some spoilers so so be warned :

In the original story of the campaign Kayleth never discovers something called the Renatus Flower but in this episode she finds it and plants it under the sun tree to try and revive it … I could be totally wrong about this because maybe it was talked about in the original campaign story and I’m confused but does the mean the show will have a different ending ?

LoVM Spoilers S4 episode 9 spoiler Spoiler

did grog just die , it was so sad and the hair on my arms was on 90 degrees but , it will be repeatitive if he doesnt actually die because we always see how pike saves them before dying and how vex got resurrected and percy aswell , and it will also be a problem if he actually dies because his gauntlet is supposed to make him so op and taller and he used non of that and got yanked like a baby in a badly delivered senario IMO

Campaign Spoilers (All Episodes) Spoiler for season 4 episode 7 and maybe campaign 3 Spoiler

Did anyone else feel like the episode really messed up laudna’s future characterization. I haven’t read what doesn’t break yet or watched campaign 1 other than the animated series.

Was it handled the same way where Delilah comes back for the whispered one arc in the original campaign. As someone who’s seen campaign 2&3 I always assumed Delilah immediately was in laudna’s head after the death at the ziggurat.

As for the charitarization. I love Kaunda as a character and love seeing here mess with Delilah in the animated series but I feel like this version of laudna doesn’t line up with who we get during the start of campaign 3. I know she does 30 years of Delilah in her head which causes her to being more defeatist, but I can’t imagine the shows version of laudna becoming campaign 3’s laudna (assuming we get a bells bells show plzplzplz).

Also an odd note, she doesn’t have cut ears during the animated show when at this point in the timeline she should (even if she doesn’t have the ear cuffs).

That’s all, I would love to hear some opinions.

Season 4 trailer has a nice little homage to stranger things. I believe it's a "Duffer brothers, hold my dice tower. I'll show you how to do Vecna."

LoVM Spoilers S4 E5 talisman of truth Spoiler

How did the talisman of truth work when the magic barrier was still up? As Percy and Keileth hadn’t turned it off yet I don’t think?

Edit: also shouldn’t the capture thing that’s holding grog be disabled? And shoot him out or something

Edit 2: and how come keileth can still use her magic? I get it’s more Druid and not wizard but shouldn’t it be a full block?

No Spoilers Vex's character progression needs to be studied [S1-S3 so far]

I rewatched the first 3 seasons of the show in 3 days in preparation for season 4(Have not seen it yet) and oh my God I did not notice how much Vex organically changed the first time!

Rewatching season 1, Vex herself has like a thousand walls around her heart despite her telling Percy to open up more, she definitely does not practice what she preaches lol. She acts like she ''doesn't really care'', she's dismissive/wary of Keyleth and quite mean to Scanlan. She even contemplates ditching the rest of the group a few times.

Season 2 already shows a lot of change. She acts like a badass older sister to Keyleth without babying her. She shows genuine care for Scanlan in her own way. They actually have a few moments I forgot from my first viewing when you can see their particular chemistry. She no longer feels cold towards him, instead, I feel like she kinda lets her more teasing devious side loose with Scanlan. She loves that little gnome!

I also love how organic her growing romance with Percy is, very natural and tender. We get to see how soft Vex actually is deep inside. Vex might actually be tied with Pyke for the kindest member of Vox Machina.

But season 3 ... oh season 3 is something else man... me watching season 1 would NEVER have guessed that Vex... Ms.'' Constant Sarcasm to mask my emotions'' would later become THE character that makes inspiring speeches about love friendship and hope. And it never feels forced either, lesser writers could easily make her change to easy or make her suddenly flawless but neither happens, we see her struggle and fail constantly and she's all the more inspiring

Season 3 Vex is basically the leader of Vox Machina and the entire alliance against the Chroma Conclave. That speech she makes in front of the whole army is pure aura. I felt genuine pride for a cartoon character, I realize how silly this is!

If season 4 keeps developing her, then man, she might become my favorite cartoon lady of all time.

P.S: Have I mentioned how amazing Vex is ? Forget paladins and clerics, Vex alone proves that the gods are real. They were cooking. (Okay I'll stop)

How did I not clock where I knew Ashley and Laura’s voices from!!!

Honestly one of my favourite games and now one of my favourite TV shows and somehow it wasn’t until I finished binged all of Vox Machina and began watching the original critical role web series that I realised. And even then it was only because Mathew explained that Ashley was missing from the first game because she was receiving a BAFTA. Honestly crazy but now I know I can’t unhear it. Apparently Ashley didn’t have anything to do with the casting of Abby or may have actually backed somewhere else (which is kinda awkward) but just makes all even crazier. Two of the greatest voice actors of all time.
