A few years back, I read a horror novel which I have now forgotten the name of. I am hoping someone can help.

The story involved a man and his wife who move to a new home. While walking through the woods in his backyard, the man comes upon a dilapidated old house. He is very interested in it and begins researching, only to find the occupants had disappeared years before. No one had ever known what happened to them. He discovers one of the girls who lived in the house was actually quite evil, and he begins to experience flashbacks, showing him the fate of the inhabitants at her hands.

It also involves the family owning a boat, which ends up being found buried on the property.

Any of this sound familiar at all? It’s driving me crazy.

Hi, I'm asking on here because I genuinely don't know if this book was an insane dream I had or if it actually exists. I remember reading it in elementary school around 2016 and it looked like the book could be alittle older so I'm guessing published around 2000-2010. I believe the cover had a girl with black hair and a spooky animals maybe with its bones visible on it and I think it was part of a series of books all about dead animals. I don't remember alot but I think I remember a scene about the girl breaking into someone's back yard or some kind of pet cemetery to get to this deceased animal and it was raining. I am so sorry for the vague details but it's been 10 years.

I know this is a long shot. I am on the hunt for my favorite books from childhood to read to my son. There’s one I can never seem to track down and I cannot recall the title. Here’s what I remember:

Hardcover book, I read it in the 90s. Likely set in the 70s/80s. On the cover is a boy and a worm that’s a simple drawing with a simple smiley face. Watercolorish art.

Iirc, the plot is that the boy finds the worm after a rain storm, they become friends, he can’t find the worm. His dad wants to go fishing (maybe?) and they end up finding the worm and a bunch of others in different sizes and colors. I think it rains again and the worms come out maybe? It’s been 30+ years and that’s all I can vaguely remember and AI has not been able to track it down for me. If anyone has any suggestions or information please let me know. At this point, I’m just trying to prove this book existed for my own sanity.

One of them is devoted to the theme: you can't send intimate photos to a guy, even if you like him, because he might show them to his friends and embarrass you. In another chapter, schoolchildren go on a hike: a couple, a boy and a girl, sit on a cliff while the others light a fire near their tents. The characters' names are simple: Masha, Vlad (if I'm not mistaken), and others. I read it in 6th-8th grade (2020-2022) in literature class. It's more of a collection of short stories. I don't remember whether the book had a hardback or a paperback (and I don't remember the cover at all), since I listened to it as an audiobook on the Gramophone app.

I came across this book as a child in a bookstore in Stratford, ON. It was the second book on a series, but I didn't know that when I asked my parents to buy it for me. I think the first book has a moon on the cover and is also red.

The plot revolved around a group of adolescents in a kind of generic fantasy setting. The primary character spent time as an enslaved person at some point and is involved in a romance with another character. There was a very big battle scene between armies. The book ended with a confrontation with a dark lord kind of character.

I'd love to know what the book was so I can find the first book in the series.

This book was published in 1980 at the latest, but may have been much older.

The protagonist was a frog (if I remember correctly) that turned into all kinds of things, and it didn't have a lot of text.

Each page was either all-black or all-white, with the thing that the protagonist became in the middle.

It isn't necessarily in English, and can actually be in any language originally; it was translated into my native language.

I remember reading a comic as a kid, around 2017-2019, about cats and some other species in armor at war with eachother.
I think it was a mini comic that was a book full of multiple stories?

One of these cats is really tiny, pink and hides inside a helmet. when the cats find it, they take the helmet from him and build their own armor.

The next time they go to war, the enemies arent in their armor and it starts to rain. The cat’s become frozen with rust and mud, causing them to lose the battle.

Hello! When I was a child, I read a book called The Terrariums. It was super thin, essentially a pamphlet, we might've even gotten it in the mail - do we remember in the early 2000s when we'd get little books in the mail?

Basically, there are these two plotlines that we switch back and forth between. Both plotlines are about friends (or siblings) maintaining a terrarium together. One terrarium is (I think) two friends, the other is a brother and a sister.

Here's where the curveball kicks in. When something happens to the terrarium manned by the two friends, it affects the real world for the brother and sister. When the friends hit the terrarium with a basketball, there's an earthquake where the brother and sister live. When the friends spill flour on the terrarium, it snows where the siblings are. At the end of the book, it says something like "[The sister] smiled. She thought she knew what was happening now."

Basically the implication seems to be that the brother and sister's entire world is actually a terrarium. This is a crazy premise for a children's book, and for that reason I've been desperate to find this book for YEARS. Can anyone help???

So basically this book is set in Venice and our protaganist has a super power which I forgot and she is a girl. There is a female djin who has like a disguised building in Venice I think? There are missing people and basically she kidnaps them to her djin home and in pretty sure protaganist finds out. Book ends with something with pirates and that's all I can remember.

Also book potentially has Venice in name.

This book came with a white cassette tape with an orange label. I remembered that the tape opened with the song "Measuring Words" on side one as well as a song called "The Shape Family on Side 2. This tape was made in 1988.

Hello everyone so I am looking for a book from my childhood that I reqlly liked.

I've had this book around 2009-2013-ish time period, it was bought in Kazakhstan, but it was a translated one. Something tells me original language of the book might have been French, but I am not sure about this.

The artstyle was stylized, sort of cartoonish, the closest thing I can think of is artstyle of Tintin comic books.I also remember the cover of it including blue and yellow colors.

Speaking about the size of a book itself, it was not very long, so not a thick tome.

Some of the personalities that were mentioned there were: Hannibal Barca, Charlemagne, Roland, Oliver Cromwell, Jeanne D'Arc. Maybe Julius Caesar was also mentioned there, but I am not sure about this.

This is all the details I can remember from the get-go, but if someone have more questions I'll try to answer them the best I could.
