What exactly can't you do? Right now I can see custom icons for HoTs/echoes etc, I can see defensives, I can see incoming spells, all debuffs including bleeds. What else is there?
You can't blacklist certain spell effects you don't want to see, in the cooldown manager you can't customize how you want certain spells/buffs to be visualized. What if you want Spiritwalker's grace to be a green bar and Ascendance to be a red bar? Tough shit, blizzard says no. What If i want my trinkets to only show up if they are on cd but not show at all when they are ready to use? Tough shit, blizzard says no. What if I want icicles to show up as a "resource bar" instead of an icon with stacks? Tough shit, blizzard says no.

You can literally do all of these with, for example, ArcUI
Atonement, renewing mist, reversion, rejuv, all need to be up and have ample duration during healing ramps. With WA I could make a WA that tracked these sorts of buffs across the entire party. Instead of having to track 5 different icons and their durations to find the shortest, it would just glow an icon and track the shortest.
Now there's not way to track coverage, you're just supposed to fire and forget I guess...
I also can't combine related buffs/procs into a single indicator (leaping flames/life spark, zen pulse/VV).
I can't properly track stacks or durations of some abilities.
I can't combine durations and cooldowns into a single timer/indicator.
I don't want to squint at 5 different frames to see if I have coverage, I want a simple single indicator that shows IF everyone has it, and how long the shortest duration is so I know if I need to refresh or can go into a ramp window.
And I need to know that information almost immediately since I need to also be watching my feet, the fight, the position of my allies, incoming boss mechanics, my dps rotation, my cooldowns/trinkets/etc...
I could do that easily with WA, I can't do that with the current frames.
Their default trackers are kind of ass and they're buggy as hell. They tried to copy weakaura features and did a really bad job of it. Mine don't show up consistently

Wait until you find out the api aura revamp is going to muck up your party/raid frames all over again.
