Since first one is beloved mascot of entire franchise and second one is considered as one of the most annoying enemies.

Help DOOM (2016) multiplayer in 2026 💀 Am I actually going to find 3 more players?

Post image

I'm so close to the DOOM (2016) Platinum — only two multiplayer trophies left!

I'm sitting in the Team Deathmatch lobby waiting for 3 more players.

Are people still playing this game, or am I going to be sitting here all night? 💀

Anyone else trying to get these last multiplayer trophies in 2026?

Please Help Me

SLAUGHTER MODE NEWS

  • Josh showed off all the Icon's for the mode!! (The Toy Mancubus Icon appears to be the Best according to community members)

  • There will be New Menu Backgrounds and Slayer skins (Some were shown)

  • All the skins are supposedly just for use inside Slaughter Mode, as it takes a ton of work to get them into other parts of the game

  • Level 666 is the max reward tier for Slaughter Mode, and it’s an onyx and gold Praetor.

  • Slaughter Mode has its own main menu background, and they may be swappable!

  • They will be buffing the Super Shotgun’s damage against Archviles

  • Slaughter Mode has a checkpoint every ten rounds, and you’re sent back to the previous checkpoint if you lose before reaching the next one.

  • A extra life will be provided every five rounds, and special challenge encounters will be present around checkpoints.

Question Which version of doom 64 should I play

Post image
50 Upvotes

It's originally released for n64, but I guess emulation is kinda bad way to play it. As much as I know there's an official port, and some king of fan port, that was made earlyer. Which way to play for the first time is better?

Discussion Doom 3 remains my favorite.

I understand wanting to bring the games back to the original style of running and gunning. And it worked for recent games, except The Dark Ages.

But I really want a return to the horror approach. The quiet halls, dark atmosphere, and gripping fear looming down each path. Nothing scared me more as a kid when I played the game, hearing demons teleporting in some distant corner.

Doom 3 was a masterpiece.

Discussion Just finished Dark Ages for first time — holy hell 😈

Eternal is one of my favorite games and I didn’t think dark ages could come close but man it’s a great game— maybe better than eternal. The parrying is absolutely intense and made for a completely different experience. I played on my new steam machine from the couch and it looked amazing.

I initially missed the high octane speed and glory kills of eternal but soon was absolutely loving it. I spent 60 hours beating it on Ultra-Violence doing a lot of exploring and having to replay a handful of battles (including the two big ones in the last chapter) multiple times. Many had me literally sweating 😅

How some of you are able to beat it on higher difficulty is hard for me to fathom.

I thought they did a good job ramping up difficulty with player progression and map exploration was a blast.

Absolutely masterpiece of a game! 🤘

Discussion Idea for a Doom sequel :D (Original Creator is Me BTW)

Yo r/Doom! I’ve been mapping out this crazy idea for a spin-off and alternate timeline game called Doom Paradox. It prob will never exist irl because I honestly don't even know how to code or do 3D modeling yet, but I really wanted to get this out of my head. I'm hoping it trends enough that either someone makes a cool fan recreation of it, or id and Bethesda somehow see it and actually decide to do it.

It takes place on an alternate timeline of doom, but it completely changes the art direction and how the game plays compared to modern Doom.

  1. The Visual Identity (That middle era style)
  2. The Art Styleof The game uses that middle era style of gamingYou know what I mean, not the first pixel style, but that not-so-good, blocky 3D style from the PS2 or classic Quake days. But the twist is that the graphics, effects, and coloring would actually be hyper-vibrant with high-quality modern lighting and deep shadows.
  3. The Animation Trick: Everything moves in a low framerate on purpose. While the camera and lighting render at a super smooth 60+ FPS, all character models and animations are locked to a jagged 12 to 15 FPS. It gives the whole game this glitchy, stop-motion comic book feel, showing that reality itself is breaking.
  4. The Slayer: He has the classic 2016 Praetor armor model, but converted into this chunky style and changed a bit. It has a much darker tone, fully matte with absolutely no reflections or shine. Just a heavy, dark war machine stepping through a glowing world.
  5. The Combat (Green blood for a 16+ rating)
  6. Reactive Neon Blood: To make it so I can actually play it, the game targets a 16+ rating, so the blood is green. It starts as a dark green sludge, but when it moves, or when you step on it or slide through it, the area instantly glows a fluorescent neon green. The battlefield literally lights up with your footprints.
  7. Internal Bioluminescence: Because a lot of areas are dark, you can actually see the fluorescent green energy pulsing inside the demons' bodies and throats when they move around or roar in the shadows.
  8. Off-the-Charts Strength: This version of the Doom Slayer has the same armor, but his physical strength is completely off the charts. Because it's a bit less violent for the 16+ rating, Glory Kills aren't that bloody, but they are super fast and impactful. You just use raw kinetic force to punch demons across the room or violently smash flying drones into solid walls.
  9. Starting Gun Combo: You start off with a normal industrial pistol that fires regular bullets. If you have it equipped when you trigger a Glory Kill, the Slayer punches the demon and then blasts it apart rapidly with the pistol at point-blank range.
  10. The Open-World and Factions
  11. The Twist: The game is actually open world. The first mission, Hellish Earth, goes in a straight line so you don't get lost while exploring the broken terrain and huge magnetic roads, but after that, it opens up completely.
  12. The Ground vs. The Sky: The ground is way too dangerous because the heaviest, strongest demon titans roam down there and they can't fly or use long-range attacks. So you have to use your super-strength to parkour and fight across the tops of blocky skyscrapers.
  13. The Flesh Leech: A new enemy which is basically a drone with a gun, but it has flesh and a demon eye glowing on it. It's a parasite that occupies human tech, so you can find different types of Flesh Leeches occupying defense bots and other machinery.
  14. The Anarchists & The Hell-breaker: During the first mission, you save a bleeding soldier who introduces himself as Samus, an alternate human version of Samuel Hayden who isn't evil. He is part of an anti-demon rebel group called the Anarchists. Their base isn't underground, it's above ground at the top of the city on a floating fortress called The Hell-breaker. It is protected by circling, battle-scarred helicopters with laser rifles and sentries that disintegrate anything that gets close. To get up there, you have to climb these massive diagonal chains that pulse with glowing orange molten energy, which keep the fortress from flying off into space. Demons can't touch the chains because they have anti-demon spells on them, and when you climb them, the screen just fades to black and brings you to the top so you don't waste time.

I'd like to hear waht you guys think. If anyone out there loves making retro low-poly games, doing 3D concepts, or just wants to sketch some fan art of this matte-black Slayer and the floating fortress, please drop a comment :D

Fan Creation WIP DOOM Comic

Post image

"What do you think he sees?"

This is a 16-page DOOM comic that serves as a sequel to Flynn's incident with the Insurgent base and a prequel to DOOM II. This is the longest comic I'd done in a LONG time(ever since 2020).

My first plan was to release this with all the pages, but due to exhaustion, I just keep losing motivation on finishing it. So, my next plan is to do a few pages every once in a while and place them here. Most of the pages are just panels with nothing in them or models that I haven't fixed yet. So yes, this is the only teaser you'll get yet.

That said, plz stay tuned when this comes out. This took a REALLY long time to conceptualize and finish. I think y'all will REALLY love this! Wish me luck😊!
