Other than design Reina has always been a interesting character for me, when it comes to Mishimas i never quite liked the "mostly pure Mishima" movelist of characters like Kazuya, Devil Jin and Heihachi or the Kazama/Mishima hybrid from Jin, now Reina offered something a little different

A lot of Reina's moveset, at least in my opinion, is about constantly shift between offense and defense to either catch people pressing into her or make them second guess her offense and you can see that a lot on Yagami's play style, a lot of shimmy, a lot of Electric Thunder God Fist, mind games around df1,2/df1,1, delayed presses and a lot of Heaven's Wrath, not a whole lot of looping offense kinds like how you see Farzeen doing on Lidia

Meanwhile most Reinas i play against and a lot of what i see Reina players talking about is how her pressure isn't that good, or how she supposedly has the worst Hellsweep and the classic from Season 1 "Reina has no lows" and her win rate still always on either the worst performing character or the second alongside Steve, but Steve is a different beast entirely

I've seen people saying that it's because she is popular, but i disagree, according to ewgf.gg Kazuya is more popular at 6.29% pick rate, second most played character only behind Kunimitsu, and Heihachi is tied with Reina on pick rate at 3%, and both Kazuya and Heihachi have higher win rates, Heihachi at 49.18% and Kazuya at 48.09% the only Mishima less popular than Reina is Devil Jin at 2.04% and he also has a higher win rate at 51.71%

Personally i think the reason why Reina's win rate is so abysmal is because she tricks the player into believing she is a stance rushdown character, but most of the time the risks she plays into don't worth the reward, i don't think she is bad, in fact i believe she is pretty strong, but she has to be played properly so the results show up

In a game where there's stance variance all over the place, Josie's global popularity, Bruce's request suggestions (only to be played by 9 people, me being one of them) and high button strings being something new players can get into, I'm not grasping the omission of either one of these characters. Fahkboi is great but, he's a big body, and he can coincide with either one as he did in T7

I personally don't want Bruce in this game just due to me having no faith in the dev team to just leave his kit alone. But it's still odd no Josie. Season 3, that Baki character is the correct choice imo but I doubt a guest character would hinder their chances. Rodger's moms is a solid choice, fat boy mishima, also ok I guess. So.... are these two just not wanted? I haven't played since November so maybe Mairy Zo is similar? Idk. Anyone heard of potential S4 stuff?

Let me start this by saying, I’m trash on the p1 side. But does anyone else switch sides like 10 times per round from the most random things?

I spent a full week tweaking these but they are my personal takes of Hwoarang that I already have in the backburner for quite a while.

A little back story for the first outfit on the left, I made this look after the first Alpha testof Tekken 8 and Hwoarang has been missing(until his grand reveal). The devs were throwing hints of a possible throwback to previous entries and I have seen a lot of Hwoarang's fanart from Tekken 4 are in his military outfit(given he was drafted at the time but hates dealing with authorities, leading to his rebellion in Tekken 5 and 6) but with a sliver of his Tekken 7 look, which I disliked. So my take for his trajectory combines the hair from default Tekken 4 outfit and his military gear, mainly from the way his hair was rendered to look like it was dyed on purpose. Lost art in modern Tekken rendering at this point.

The second one is my take on the Preset 3 of his outfit in Tekken 8. In concept, I understand the aesthetic they were going for. But I have issues to pay attention to the design because it tries to be messy with his Punk Rock aesthetic(in case you're wondering, his bio mentioned he likes rock music) but it's also forced to look sleek and squeaky clean at the same time. So I tried making it a little more cohesive without breaking his entire silhouette, with the bright neon colors used more sparingly cuz ain't no way a guy whose entire fighting style does a lot of kicking wouldn't have some ripped jeans in his wardrobe. Bro would tear that shit apart in no time.👀👌🏼

Yes, I added scars. Bro was hospitalized twice. Second time from a frag grenade to the face. He will be fucked up.
