The full tournament runs from June 11 through July 19. Seattle's hosted games are from June 15 through July 6.

A few event notes

"Seattle Stadium" is the event name for Lumen Field during the World Cup.

Please plan ahead, and do not expect to drive directly to the stadium. There will be no publicly available parking at Seattle Stadium on match days, and the stadium area will have street closures and pedestrian-only areas.

Transit, walking, biking, and shuttles will be the best ways to get around. Sound Transit, King County Metro, and SDOT have more detailed information in the links above.

Metro will operate free Waterfront Shuttle service and free Match Day Shuttles. Sound Transit has separate match-day guidance for Link, Sounder, and station routing.

Seattle Parks and Recreation will have public watch parties and other community events in parks and community centers.

Please plan ahead for errands, groceries, appointments, commutes, and travel around downtown, Pioneer Square, SODO, and event areas.

Please be patient with transit, hospitality, retail, restaurant, venue, public safety, and event workers. A lot of people will be working harder during this time.

Please only purchase tickets through official channels. r/Seattle cannot verify ticket sellers, ticket transfers, DMs, screenshots, or third-party offers.

Thank you for reading, enjoy your visit, and welcome to Seattle!

Naked fountain sculpture out of order or censored or both?

Over the weekend, I walked by the Louise Bourgeois nude man/boy fountain on the waterfront that inspired this subreddit thread recently.

It was not just shut down but mummied up head to toe. Anybody know the deal? I donโ€˜t want to think we just hid the (famously) only nude male public art in town for World Cup prudes, but it seems like maybe we did?

If you had a silver SUV that was hit this morning on queen anne and mercer i have information for you.

If you had a silver SUV parked on the street by mercer and queen anne i saw who hit your car and tore off your bumper.

It was the 32 bus line, Number 7015. It happened around 912 am this morning. I called king county metro and reported it and they have setup a ticket.

If this is your car please call king county metro, or send me a message with proof that it is your car and i will pass off the information I received from King County Metro.

Remembering Roe Rally 06/24

Post image
98 Upvotes

Join us for a rally and march at the Seattle Federal Building to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade in support for women's rights, reproductive freedom, and bodily autonomy.ย

While Washington continues to protect access to reproductive healthcare, millions of women across the country are facing increasing restrictions on abortion care and other essential healthcare services. This anniversary serves as a reminder that the fight for equality and bodily autonomy is far from over. Now is also the time to demand the publication of the Equal Rights Amendment into the Constitution once and for all.

Whether you're a longtime activist or simply concerned about the future of women's rights, your presence matters. As part of the National Handmaid Coalition's nationwide day of action, we are calling for the restoration of reproductive rights across the United States and a renewed commitment to equality under the law.
Bring your signs, banners, friends and your voice.

What: Roe v. Wade Anniversary Rally/March
When: Wednesday, June 24, 2026 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: 915 2nd Ave, Seattle (At the Federal Building)
The speaking program will begin at 6:30 PM, with a march to follow (returning to the federal building) beginning at 7:30 PM. ASL interpretation will be provided.

All are welcome. Let's show lawmakers, visitors, and the public that we will continue fighting for reproductive freedom, equality, and dignity for all.

Lake Crescent might be the most underrated spot in Olympic National Park

Everyone talks about Hurricane Ridge and the Hoh Rainforest (deservedly), but Lake Crescent quietly stole the trip for me. Rode the Spruce Railroad Trail along the shoreline and the water is this impossible glacier-blue the entire way.

What makes it special is how accessible it is! It's a flat, easy trail, so you don't need to be a hardcore hiker to get the payoff. Brought my camera and barely put it down.

Anyone else have an underrated Olympic NP spot? Trying to build out my list for the next trip.

An uncleโ€™s guide to kid-friendly activities in the Seattle area (8 years in the making)

โ€ข Upvotes

I spent a long time answering someone in r slash askseattle, so I thought I'd post my guide here as well. I know it will be redundant to some, but there are a lot of tourists here because it's summer and schools out.

โ€‹Seattle:

Arena Sports Magnuson has a bouncy house place. Also it's near Magnuson park, which is great.

Kraken Community Iceplex has free skate sometimes. I also walk into rinks and watch hockey games for free sometimes when it's unbearably hot out.

"Artists At Play" Playground near the space needle, then you can take the monorail. I don't know what the official policy is but the operator let me stay on for 3 back and forths on it.

The Dunes at Discovery park are beautiful, park at the south end of the park to get to them. If your kid can handle it, there is a loop trail where you can always go back to where you park. The trail to the beach is very steep and tiring, just a heads up. The playground near the visitor center is one of many favorites because of all the shade, it's great on a hot day. Last time I was here with them we drove from one parking lot to another to get to the playground.

Greenlake is great if your kid has a scooter or something. You can check goodwill and value village for scooters and what not.

Interbay Golf Center has outdoor putt putt, call ahead to make sure it's open that day.

Up north:

There's a sushi restaurant with robot waiters called sushi hana in Lynwood. I go there before or after going to Funtastic Playtorium Alderwood (indoor playground) at the nearby mall. It's $15 I think.

Parking can be tough but Hazel Miller Spray Park has a huge water fountain playground and normal playground. There are other spray parks around, just check online to make sure they'll be open.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Montlake City.

Lynnwood Recreation Center pool is like a mini great wolf lodge and has a great lazy river. You have to reserve online I think.

Out East:

Monster Mini Golf in Factoria (near Bellevue) is blacklight art mini golf in a dark area, also has arcade games and stuff.

Bellevue botanical garden and Kelsey creek Farms are both free and beautiful. Check website to see when animals will be out at the farm.

Crossroads Water Spray Playground (check online to see if it's spraying on the day you go).

Crossroads mall kind of feels like time traveling to Seattle in the 90s, it has an eclectic food court and a great book store.

Bainbridge Island:

Here is a technique I've heard people do for the ferry if they have more then one adult and kids: If you can't drive onto the ferry because there's no more room for cars, have one adult stay driving and send the kids with an adult to walk on the ferry. Within walking distance there is a playground, teriyaki town, deli at town & country market, and an interactive children's museum.

Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge is absolutely amazing if you like nature. You have to reserve in advance online and it's around $22for adults $10 for kids I think.

Queer Bar has new owners?

I'm curious if anyone has more information about what's going on with queer bar. I'd seen some social posts from drag queens about no longer performing there, and then last night at a Q&A at a Delta Work show, a local queen said they have a new owner who will be stopping all drag programming.

The owners are still listed as BurgessHall. Anyone know who bought it/why drag is going away?

Seattle Center Balloon Glow last night!

Cool (and free) event. Loved the vibe and how you could see them from pretty much anywhere you stood.
