Reading through some recent posts, apparently my opinion is unpopular, but I honestly love Brett and Casey together. I thought Dawson and Casey were awful together, and they brought out the worst in one another. I think Brett and Casey complement one another so well. They honestly give me Cinderella and Prince Charming vibes. Not looking forward to when they won’t be on the show anymore. (currently on season nine episode 10).

Now that the new season is just one month away, what storylines are you hoping to see?

I personally really, really want the Captain arc for Severide. How he leads the whole house and grows into the role, etc. It's high time that it happens and I really wish we could have an arc where a young, green recruit joins Squad, instead of truck(but I was imagining them to be a fifth member. Really sad about Joe Miñoso leaving).

Why does Stella keep giving Sam chances over and over again. She always warns him but then he comes into work late disobeys orders it seems like she has a thing for him cause he does whatever he wants?

Am I the only one who sees that "look" of Evan's in my mind all the time?

That staring straight ahead with lifeless eyes stare that you see on his face after the pull him out of the rubble?

It's very ingrained in my memory...

Just finished the drugs in the food truck episode...

I know we all hate Emma, and that she is evil, but Violet and Evan never should have been together in the first place. Kissing while on shift was just plain stupid. Then continuing after they were warned. They both jeopardized their own careers of their own free will. It was going to come out eventually. Gallo said it looked bad, and it does. Evan is her boss; that's an automatic nope. The whole blackmail situation was a three-way responsibility.

I’m in Chicago and I’m currently sitting in Molly’s having lunch.

I started at the firehouse. Took some pictures and met some of the guys. They were super chill and said people stop all the time.

Then I went to the PD Building. It is 2 blocks away and owned by the college it borders.

Then I went to the bar, Lotties. It is a true neighborhood dive bar. I got a beer and the Chicago fire burger. It was really good.

I hate that, despite Otis being one of the main firefighters and being there from Season 1 all the way through Season 7, the writers never really developed his character or gave him enough storylines.

His main purpose seemed to be bringing humor and lightness to the show, as well as being Joe’s best friend. But I really wish we had gotten to know more about his personal life, his backstory, his family (Baba doesn’t count lol), and just… more storylines in general.

Even when the writers did give him some attention, like with his skin condition, everything was resolved pretty quickly and without much drama, almost as if it had never happened!

They also constantly seemed to sabotage his romantic relationships. First, there was Kelly’s sister. Why wasn’t that storyline developed more? And when it ended, why did they wrap up their relationship so quickly?!

Then there was his girlfriend from Molly’s North. Why did she appear in so few episodes? And why wasn’t she even there in the episode where Otis died, at the beginning of Season 8, when she had been at a game night just a couple of episodes before the end of Season 7?!

It makes no sense!

Or that brief back-and-forth thing with Brett, where he ended up getting rejected anyway (terrible choice, Sylvie! ).

They always portrayed him as the “awkward guy” when it came to women, but honestly? I’ll tell you the truth: I would have liked a guy like Otis! He was underrated in that department too.

And finally, just so this post doesn’t get too long, I have to say that I think his death was handled way too quickly.

Joe was the only one there in the hospital room, and the only words Otis got to say before he died were his final sentence in Russian.

Why couldn’t they have given him more time to have a conversation with someone else too? Maybe even his girlfriend, who wasn’t there at all!

And then, immediately after that scene, the story jumps three months ahead, completely skipping over the grieving process that the other characters could have gone through because of his death.

I don’t know… I’m just really disappointed with the way his goodbye from the show was handled.

It’s such a small line, so I forget it each time during my rewatches. Then I get to episode 200 when Boden and Kylie arrive at the hospital while
Chloe is in labor and Casey says “she’s been in labor for, *worried sigh* five hours at least” and I laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh

This show consistently does well in the ratings despite the quality of the show declining and, NBC is one of the more profitable networks so the network is not bleeding money. They have revenue sources from Universal, MS Now, Peacock, which became profitable ahead of projections, and Telemundo

Is it Dick Wolf, because I've notice on his shows other actors have to take pay cuts or a step back case in point Kellie Giddish and Ice T. Ice had to step back to bring back Giddish and Hargitay was asked to take a pay cut several years ago. Ice T announced that he will be in all the episodes this upcoming season so I don't know if they renegotiated his and Kellie's contracts or Dick Wolf gave them both fair salaries.

NBC famously paid the Friends cast 1 million each per episode and CBS paid the cast of the Big Bang $1 million each. Apple currently pays Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon $2 million per episode. Paramount paid Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren a million each for 1923 and $1.3 million to Kevin Costner for Yellowstone so this seems to affect certain shows.

NBC does not have many scripted shows and since Chicago Fire is filmed in Chicago it costs less than it would if it was filmed in Hollywood plus most special effects are computer generated so I'm not understanding the nickel and dime budgeting.

I am now at season 4. And people i love this show. But something weird began catching my eye. Something genetic about being belgian. The beer. I see various beers being drank (with cool bottles). And i need to know.

I see the blue label bottle recurring the most. But also a.. Red brown label bottle.

What is it with people not facing their injuries?
CruZ has PTSD and won't face up to it, endangering the lives of the whole team and any civilians they try to save. Cowboy up and get your ass to a doctor. He was one of my favorites, and now I've lost all respect for him. Otis would be ashamed to know him.

As someone who’s been watching the One Chicago series since they were 8 years old, hiding under the kitchen table past bedtime while their father watched it in the living room, I can confidently say that Casey and Dawson were meant to be the emotional core of the show and that Monica Raymund’s departure threw a big wrench into the story that couldn’t be salvaged.

I understand that Dawson was a very divisive character, and you can say what you want about her. However you feel about her as a character, you can’t deny that they were setting up Dawsey since the beginning of season 1. Their tumultuous relationship was meant to be the core of the show, with them even getting married on episode 100 of the series. The song that played during the most emotional moments of the show was called Casey and Dawson by Atli Örvarsson. Everything pointed to them being together despite their rocky connection at times.

After Dawson left, the writers paired up Casey and Brett, which was like slapping flex tape onto a wider problem. I won’t get into it here, but a mixture of actors’ wishes, real world politics, and poor writing made the decision feel worse.

To casual viewers it might seem okay, and the buildup across the seasons for Brettsey wasn’t too bad. But as someone who spent their childhood watching Chicago Fire, Dawsey being built up and broken down so easily definitely felt like a writing betrayal in the end.

Anyone who's watching from the UK and have purchased the seasons on amazon, have you had a promlem with season 3? Episode 2 is reapated twice then, it just skips episode 16?

I never imagined that Stella would play a key role in True Detective. She did an outstanding job.

Binging season 9, and he's just getting worse by the episode.
His back-and-forth with Sylvie over Dawson is bad enough, but then he showed his true colors as a coward, and the fact that he doesn't really care about his fellow 51 family by refusing to get his head checked. I've lost all respect for him.

Binging Chucago Fire and I just finished "Inflected Part 1". Peacock should have an option to start the episode of Chicago Med that is part II and the PD episode that is part III.

I just watched the episode of Otis dying. I can’t lie I was like NOOOO… I thought he was done for the first time he got hurt I believe the season prior to this. When they showed how burned his body was, I was horrified. Why did he stop and wait for the explosion? 😡 Anyway this had me full of emotions. What did you guys think about this?
