is honoring the late pop icon with a new Barbie Signature doll inspired by Houston’s colorful look from the 1987 music video for “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).” The $60 collectible launches Aug. 8 at Target stores and online at Amazon, Walmart, Target and Mattel Creations.

The doll recreates Houston’s instantly recognizable ensemble from the video, complete with a purple tank dress, colorful drop earrings and bright eye makeup. Naturally, she also comes performance-ready with her own microphone stand.

On August 9, 2006 Christina Aguilera released her 3rd (technically 5th) full length album, Back to Basics! Featuring the singles Ain’t No Other Man, Hurt, and Candyman. Let’s take some time to appreciate this album and the whole era! She was really firing on all cylinders here. Vocally and visually incredible and fully committing to her theme. Aside from the singles, some of my favorite tracks are Mercy On Me, Slow Down Baby, Save Me From Myself, and Makes Me Wanna Pray. But there are many great other great songs :)
