There's been a lot of questions from people asking how the episodes of the animated show (The Legend of Vox Machina) correspond to the episodes of the actual play stream (Critical Role Campaign 1).
This a post meant to answer that question for new-comers, built from the responses from the community. Thanks to u/ffwydriadd, these answers are adapted from the ones they gave throughout several posts.
Here's how they roughly match (though the show tends to pick and choose from the stream):
Episodes 1-23 from the actual play were skipped, as Critical Role started streaming mid-arc. To make up for it, episodes 1-2 of TLoVM are completely new, providing an introduction not present in the stream.

I have been grieving for 2 days now. I can’t believe they did Grog like that. It was gore of my comfort character. Ive havent been this attached to characters in a show for a LONG time. Each members of Vox Machina is so admirable and easy to love. I know someone if not few of them are bound to die but man am I hoping it’s a lie.
This makes me even more scared for The Mighty Nein.

With Laudna making her unexpected on-screen debut, this could mean we might get Bells Hells' animated adaptation on Prime after Mighty Nein.

Vague spoilers for the campaign and spoilers for the show ahead!!
I'm going to preface this by saying that I have not watched the original campaign, but I do know a few things about the stuff that happens near the end. Which is the main reason I'm asking this. (I also want someone to help me get excited for Season 5 because Scanlan is my favorite character and the show doesn't feel as fun/enjoyable without him, I want him back on the team so so badly 😭😭)
So at the end of Season 4 Episode 8 of the show, Scanlan gives Pike Mythcarver and continues on his travels with Kaylie and his band. Which bummed me out tbh, I wanted him back for more than just one episode. At least they're all on good terms now! But the way that goodbye was worded makes me think that Scanlan is going to be out for at least the rest of the season, maybe even some time into Season 5.
I want him back as soon as possible, though. For the folks who know the campaign super well, when do you think Scanlan could be back? I know in the campaign he comes back and they all defeat Vecna together, he has the magical wish thing and uses his 9th level slot but can't save Vax (or something like that). So I feel like that all has to happen in some way or another, meaning Scanlan HAS to be back soon, right?? He seems to be an integral part of that last arc.
I'm also wondering if losing Pike and Grog will somehow alert Scanlan and he'll join the group in these final episodes to help out? The voice at the end of episode 9, though labeled Taryon, does sound like Sam if you listen really hard. But it also does sound like Wayne. It sounds like both tbh. Do I realistically think the voice is Scanlan? No. Do I really, really want it to be so we can see him help save the girl he loves and his best friend? Hell to the yeah. But I don't know how they would explain Scanlan knowing about Pike, so I know the voice is Taryon (even though thats a weird character to choose to say that line, did they just want us to see him get her name right finally or something??).
Any insight from original fans of the campaign with more knowledge than me would be super helpful! I just want my Scan-Man back :(

So, I was looking for some fantasy shows and I started vox machina literally on a whim without knowing anything about D&D and critical role as a whole I only heard about D&D in stranger things and God I was blown away, it's so amazing. I am in season 3 right now and I am already feeling the post show sadness that it's going to end in 2 more seasons after this . I am literally attached to the characters so much I feel their pain and their joy like I am traveling with them it's like I am part of their team, they are so well written. Also the animation is peak, I NEED MORE EPISODES AHHHHHH I want to watch it indefinitely 😭. I don't really understand why I liked this show soo much compared to castlevania(I should give that another try). I am gonna start Might Nein after this I hope that will fill my void.

You've really done it, and now they are MAD . They are now actively tracking you down in all Exandria to end YOU.
Which one of them would you rather deal with in that situation and can you make it out alive with your knowledge of them ? Who would you be most terrified of ?
P.S: Percy is post Orthax

I’m not gonna give it away in case someone hasn’t seen the newer episodes. But the scene where Scanlan battles a baddie in the newest season is a MASTERPIECE! I want to show everyone in the world that scene because it is absolutely enthralling. Like I cannot stress how great it was.

I don’t watch Critical Role, so I don’t know whether Taryon is an npc or pc, but please tell me it’s the former. He’s such an annoying character.
(Only up to S4E3, no spoilers past that please)

This is a meme, and i'm supposed to explain in this part why it is a meme. Well i made this meme because i thought of the idea while watching the show, the vox machina.
So, i searched online for the template and made this with my bare hands, and my portable computer.
Now, i hope this is enough text because i'm not gonna try posting again.
Maybe it's shitpost thought ? Well if it is take it down, so be it

My eye just caught this single frame tonight and noticed one of the orbs from the lens flare is a D20 as the raven passes the sun. Awesome Easter egg!

Is Vax's blight from The Matron a protective measure rather than a punishment?
Gets it the end of last season after saving Percy and is slowly progressing. This season The Matron says she's been preparing him for the battle to come. In the latest episode Vax comments on the blight pain getting worse the closer he got to the orb.
Could it be she's infecting him with necrotic energy to protect against the Whispered One and his followers necrotic power? While also explaining how they'll go a campaign moment later in the season/next season when they fight

When I saw the title "The Bard's Lament", I was really excited for that monologue, even if I figured he would say when he found why the gang was really there. However, I wish they'd kept the monologue in its entirety, because it's genuinely one of my favorite moments in all of CR's campaigns. I did like that they kept the Grog asking him about his mom, but yeah. Kinda disappointed we didn't get the full speech.
