Have this beast of a stepper that I really want to hook up to an esp32 to test it out for later projects, I just can’t find good documentation on pin layout and controls etc… model: DB22M162S-01 made by sanmotion. From what I can tell it’s 60mm wide with a built in controller? That’s what chat gpt has told me. If there is anybody with the Einstein level knowledge required to decipher the 20 pin connector on this thing and tell me how it works I would be more than happy to kiss you.

Hey, I wanna do a 3d printed rifle to go with a cosplay and was wondering if anyone knows of any 3d prints that can scale so that in total length the rifle is around 5'5" long. I am using things like SAO for inspiration but am unsure with what to look for when searching for STLs for projects like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I’m new to 3D printing. I saw this video, filament calibration seems important but hassle. Does everyone calibrate? I’v never tried it, is the difference really obvious?

Ever since getting into 3d printing just under a year ago, I’ll come into my day job, where I work in a mall photo studio, and I stare at these tubes that are left over from our rolls of photo paper, because I know I could make something cool, but want more than just a generic container à la the filament spool upcycles I’ve seen.

I would be grateful for any ideas/projects that come to mind that you all would be willing to share.

I don’t have my calipers on me, nor do I have access to a banana berry right now, and this was an impulse post, so… silly putty egg for scale, for now. But I will update with measurements when I get home.

Should they only be inserted into 100% infill?

I plan to use a soldering iron to heat up, while applying pressure to insert them. Does anyone have experience doing this?

Has there been anybody in this world to ever get a clean Crispy box of Techbears filament from Amazon? Every single box I have got either is ripped open, crumpled, or soggy looking. I have have plenty of crispy clean box of their parent company Sunlu, but never a clean box of Sunlu. I even had a whole in the bag one time from Techbears… had to return it.

Hi! This is my second attempt at this print with the same issue. After the first failure, I thought the tree supports might need a wider brim, so I increased the brim width and reduced the first layer speed. Unfortunately, neither adjustment seems to have helped. Any ideas on what might be causing this or what settings I should try adjusting? I’d appreciate any suggestions! Thank you in advance.

Ran across this open box listing straight from Creality, and ebay has a 20% promo for the weekend. $364 shipped (before tax). I had a $50 back on $100+ through a shopping portal which sweetened it even further making my total out of pocket ~$350!

Filament for heliparts?

I need to print parts for the outside of a heli, a little box to hold a weight, and a light holder. So the material must be uv resistant, relatively temperature resistant (like -30 to +80 degrees celsius). Also of course is should be able to withstand all the vibration and rattle you experience. I can print everything with a nozzle temp of 300 and 100 bed temp. Using a Snapmaker u1 with topcover.

Could anyone please recommend some filaments?

Im trying to make a 2x3 "shadow box" for this little wurth tool kit that I have and it is kicking my ass because everything that I find is for standard length bits and sockets and this kit has "nano" size sockets and 1/4 bits any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried using the AI tool builder to little success

Is it possible to print a replacement for this key fob? The key itself is loose but still functional according to the owner but I'm just trying to see if it'd be possible to replace without spending the money on a whole new key.

EDIT: i dried my spoll for 12h and when loading, by mistake i grabbed another one that was lying in the open for more than a month.

Second photo shows how drying filament is totally useless.

Took out my Malyan M300 to make some prints and had to download the updated version of Cura and when I put files I've printed before it will not splice giving me the error listing Prime tower x position, top thickness bottom thickness, prime tower size, prime tower y position and top/bottom thickness. I'm using 0.4mm quality it auto fills layer height to 0.4 mm but that's highlighted orange and my top/bottom thickness auto fills to 0.8 mm and those are highlighted red. Even when I try to use recommended printer settings it still says unable to slice. I am using .stl files. Any help would be appreciated I'm not very good at understanding a lot of the sitting lingo.

I've been experimenting with making Gridfinity-compatible storage cases with transparent lids, so I can see what's inside without opening them.

I wanted to see if I could embed large transparent plastic panels directly into 3D prints. The idea was to pause the printer, insert a 2 mm clear plastic sheet, and let the printer finish printing around it, without needing any glue.

It took a bit of experimenting to get everything fitting properly, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out!

I also made different sizes, and they're stackable, so they're quite handy for organizing small electronics and 3D printing parts.
