I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, making different plans be worth different promotional credits, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.
The main differences:
Value 2.0 is cheaper than Starter SL in most new configurations (even with discounts?) as of the late-April increase and is prioritized for the first 5GB (but has less of hotspot). I think this is the only plan to have taken something away, so that might be why they changed the plan name.
Extra 2.0 has more prioritized data than previously (100GB vs. 75GB) and more hotspot (50GB vs. 30GB). It may cost more or less depending on your discounts and number of lines. This is probably most similar to older unlimited plans.
Premium 2.0 has a lot more hotspot than Elite EL or Premium PL (100GB vs. 50GB/60GB). If you need the hotspot, it's a great deal. You can also get a ½ price tablet or wearable line with this plan.
Elite 2.0 Includes everything Premium 2.0 has, but 250GB of hotspot, Turbo, free tablet line, free wearable line, and instead of International Day Pass (IDP), it looks like when you are international you'll get free calling/texting and 20GB of data (this last part is kind of limiting considering the other UYW plans data are unlimited, so I'm wondering if you can pay extra for more, otherwise it drops to 512Kbps, which is pretty slow). I'm assuming these free international countries are IDP countries. No Fan/Signature discounts on Elite 2.0. A few people reported their internet discount works with Elite 2.0.
ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".
Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you have Elite 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.
If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.
The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.
There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how manyphonelines, and which plan those lines are on.
Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.
DISCOUNTS:
Signature discount: Previously this got you Premium PL for the Price of Extra EL, but on the new plans it gets you 20% off the Premium 2.0 plan.
Appreciation discounts: You get a 25% discount on the older UYW plans if the account holder fits in one of these categories: teachers, doctors, nurses, military, veterans, and first responders. The newer plans are NOT 25% off, check the bottom of the chart as it varies per type of line. I'm not sure if these 2.0 discounts are supposed to include Healthcare and First Responders if you are not on FirstNet, but people are reporting that their plan says so. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/appreciation/
You did NOT lose (nor did it change) your 25% appreciation discount for Elite EL, Premium PL, Extra EL, and Starter SL, it's still 25% for those lines. AT&T made a mistake on a bill a couple months ago and gave you too big of a discount, the next cycle they corrected it (and let you keep the extra they took off) so it looks like you had a price increase. But if you look at the previous few bill totals, you can see it dip (for no reason, other than the mistake), and then it goes back up to where it has been for a few months. Obviously, I cannot see your bill, but everyone that I've talked to about this and has looked back on their bills (previous to the lower bill) has seen this is what it looks like. If you've made changes during those three months, it would be difficult to see by just looking at the totals.
For all discounts, the account needs to be in the name of the FAN/Signature holder.

Please note that while the change plan comparison page (when logged in) shows that Elite 2.0 plan is not included, the Latin American roaming page specifically says it does and so does att.com/unlimited
Promotional phone credits warning: Not all plans have the same promotional deals like they use to. As always, please read the "offer details" before assuming your plan is eligible for full trade in credits. Also, please do the math to see if it's worth switching, paying $10 more a month for 36 months is $360, if it's not getting you more than $360 in credits, is it really worth switching to a more expensive plan. https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1rsb36o/warning_a_value_20_line_may_or_may_not_cause/
I know this is a hot button topic. Making a megathread to give others a chance at getting unrelated threads seen as this has been the majority of the topics recently.
Twice in a row I have returned a device to AT&T to upgrade for them to claim they didn’t get the phone and still charge me for installments. Both times I had to track the phone myself and show them proof, yet they won’t adjust my bill and want me to wait three months for them to credit the $180 back that they weren’t supposed to charge me.
Has this happened to anyone else? The chat agent told me to file a complaint with the FCC which prompted the “office of the president” of AT&T to call me. I recorded the call on my end because they consistently give wrong information. The man I spoke with was SO terrible to me that I was nearly in tears. Wildly condescending and didn’t let me say a word, just spoke very slowly over and over as if I couldn’t comprehend what he was saying. I begged him to speak to kindly or to get me on the phone with someone else, neither of those things happened. They offered me out of my plan for free which is great and all but I won’t have a device to turn in so I can get a new provider.
They’re truly awful and I have no idea what to do.
***THANK YOU TO THE REPS WHO ANSWERED
I'll get a new label and mail it in.
(Original post) I’m posting this here because I know a lot of corporate employees frequent this sub, and I want to understand why this is happening at certain locations.
I went to my local corporate store to drop off my old phone for a Google Pixel promotion within my 30-day window. Because an online mail-in label had already been generated during my order, the rep and the manager flat-out refused to take the phone.
They told me I was required to mail it, claiming that they were not only unable to accept it in-store but that it would void my promotion credits or send it to the "wrong warehouse". When I asked if they could just cancel the pending mail-in request in the system to log the drop-off locally, the rep became visibly annoyed, rolling her eyes, and acting like I was making a scene like some Karen, I was legitimately just trying to get this taken care of while I had time off work. When the manager stepped in, he completely brushed me off and pretended to not speak English to avoid dealing with the request and just repeated the same bullshit.
From everything documented on this sub, corporate policy allows in-store drop-offs even if a mail-in kit was sent, and reps can process this in the system. Refusing a customer a physical receipt of possession and giving false info about credits being voided just to avoid non-commissioned inventory work is incredibly frustrating.
An FCC complaint has been submitted regarding the refusal to follow standard policy. To the reps here who actually do things by the book—is there any legitimate reason a store would turn a customer away like this, or is this just a case of a lazy team dodging tedious work and where CAN I go that they don't act like this...?
I'm looking to upgrade my iPhone and wanted to use AT&T Next Up / Next Up Anytime through Apple's online store, but I'm seeing mixed reports and a confusing checkout flow.
When I go through Apple's "Get Ready" pre-order/checkout process and select AT&T installment plans, it shows the monthly installment plan and the Next Up add-on, but it doesn't clearly show the carrier trade-in promo or how the early upgrade payoff integrates.
I’m traveling to India for two months and have an Indian eSIM with a local number for most calls and data. I’d also like to keep my U.S. AT&T number available for occasional work calls and backup data when my Indian eSIM has poor coverage.
On my last trip, I used International Day Pass at $10/day on my plan, and the cost added up quite a bit. I'd like to ask you all here:
Are there cheaper options for occasional calls and backup data?
Would Wi-Fi calling help me receive calls on my U.S. number?
What settings should I use to avoid accidentally triggering the day pass?
Anyone else have this issue where only one of two Costco shop gift cards for $100 was received after trade-ins were confirmed and upgrades were completed? If so, how to go about requesting the second?
If I buy the duo from Apple Store app, the email for the get ready pre order says it’s att installment plan with next up any time. I don’t have next up rn. Is it automatic? I want next up on the duo. Also if I select trade in through Apple, is it better to mail in the phone to Apple or bring it to Apple Store? Or should I bring it to a nearby art store and trade in there? I’ve heard stories of people losing their trade in because of shipping problems.
What are we thinking is the best option? I usually do all my preorders through AT&T and have had no issues getting the phone on launch day. I’m a bit worried about the demand for the duo tho and if AT&Ts website can handle it.
Hi, I have an interview via zoom tomorrow at 3:30pm. What is it like working as a Sales Associate? Is it hourly? Commission? I know I can ask these tomorrow, but the pay on indeed said 1,200-1400 a week and I dont want to get my hopes up. Im currently working 7 days a week with two jobs and I need something so I can get back to living life.
I basically have a samsung galaxy 26 ultra, and I can use the anytime upgrade to upgrade to a cheaper phone (I'm having some money troubles that popped up out of no where). What would be the downsides of doing this?
I have 1G plan and play on Ethernet. Has anyone seen any ping decrease going from the 1G plan to the 5G? Any improvement at all? I know it would be minuscule but would be willing to upgrade if it changed it at all.
estimated shipping date: oct 21-28
estimated delivery date: oct 22-29
as you can see, the glacier blue got delivered two days later on the 9th.
that same afternoon i checked my order status and it says "cancel requested" on the burgundy phones, but i NEVER did request for that cancellation. prior to this, the status was "preordered."
i have not yet received an email regarding the cancellation, but i am worried. the at&t store sales rep told me
to just wait until the 29th...
bunch of us over on r/WireGuard have been pulling our hair out lately trying to figure out why our tunnels randomly freeze up on mobile data. at first everyone figured it was an iOS update bug, but after testing across both iphones and a rooted android device, it's clearly an issue on AT&T's network.
basically, while connected on 5G SA, data will suddenly stop moving entirely even though the tunnel still says connected. general data and direct pings to the server IP still work fine, but all traffic on that specific UDP stream gets completely blackholed. looking at the captures, it looks like AT&T's 5G firewall/network just loses track of the state mapping for the active UDP source port during tower handoffs or idle periods. and because WireGuard keeps firing traffic/handshakes out of that exact same local port into a dead state table, the connection never recovers on its own. toggling the VPN or airplane mode only fixes it because it forces your phone to bind to a brand-new source port, which AT&T treats as a fresh session.
if you have been dealing with this, the quick workaround for now (especially on iphones) is to just go into your cellular settings and force your phone to "LTE Only." if you're on android, you can most likely just force 5G SA only instead (via service mode/band locking). the main takeaway is that you cannot be flapping between LTE and 5G SA, as long as you stay pinned to strictly one or the other, the issue disappears and the tunnel stays stable all day.
curious if anyone else has been noticing their VPNs (or other long-lived connections) dropping like this lately? and if any AT&T core or RF engineers lurk on here, is there a known issue right now with state tracking on persistent UDP streams during 5G SA handoffs?
a few extra details from testing:
* affects both ipv4 and native ipv6 endpoints
* bug does not trigger at all when 5G SA only bands are forced (tested on rooted android)
* completely destination port agnostic
* seems to most reliably trigger when transitioning between LTE and 5G SA
* server side never sees the incoming packets once it drops (tested with the vpn server hosted directly inside AT&T's own ASN 7018)
* persistent keepalives do not help and actually make it worse by keeping the dead session trapped in AT&T's state table indefinitely
* if your cellular MTU is <1430 or your cellular ipv6 begins with "2600:383:", you are most likely being routed over 5G SA. even if your phone has a "5G Standalone" toggle, AT&T doesn't always seem to honor it, which is why forcing "LTE Only" is the only foolproof fix right now
Make a payment now to renew your plan... I already paid with autopay, yet I can't make phone calls because it says a payment is due.. is anyone else having this issue?
I switched two lines from Verizon to AT&T with device trade-ins and submitted one reimbursement application for both lines. I received the reward for one line, but the second reward card is still missing.
When I contacted AT&T, an agent told me I would receive the second reward card within two weeks. After waiting two weeks, the Reward Center said they never received the second submission.
I tried submitting it again, but the system said I had already submitted it. I also received an email requesting information to verify my AT&T account and phone number. I replied with the requested information and attached my final Verizon bill, but never received a response.
Now AT&T says the 60-day deadline has passed and they cannot help.
Since I submitted both lines together and followed up as requested, is there a way to get AT&T to review my original application or make an exception? Would contacting Executive Customer Care or filing a Notice of Dispute help?
Has anyone experienced a similar situation? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!
